I had both manifolds crack almost in half on my new style 2019 Hemi Ram 1500 under heavy towing from Kentucky to Denver Co. I wouldn't mind having a 2.7 if it didn't have this shit in it anything with AFM active fuel management DFM dynamic fuel management or any type of fuel management that deals with mechanical moving parts I do not want I will not touch it seems just too fucking risky besides you're already only having four cylinders why would you want to run with two That's just dumb
@@PC_CERTIFIED good point. But you can blame everything on emissions.
@@gmanhere.173 I don't blame everything on emissions honestly it comes down to different types of engineering also how much money can they make off of it selling the vehicle is not remaking money it's when your servicing the vehicle and selling parts and also licensing out the manufacturer of those parts After shifting through like I don't know 20 to 40 hours of data from UA-cam and whatnot I've come to learn that the 2.7 GM has been made for 7 years but the last 4 years is actually when they started making the high output The only difference is they increased the torque horsepower has not changed The Ford 2.7 l EcoBoost is a twin turbo system and it's a V6 and it actually starts making peak torque at 2500 unlike the GM 2.7 high output at 1500 for reference I believe they only make high outputs now The blocks things like that are pretty much the same so I'm not freaking out too bad about that One thing I know that people don't do is actual research the major parts of their engine such as oil pumps did you know that a lot of engines that Ford has their oil pump no bullshit is driven by a belt that is made of rubber and that rubber is going through hot engine oil to turn that pump you see a problem with that That's why so many engines are blowing up especially the 3.5 EcoBoost I will never touch that Even the 7.3 Godzilla they've actually moved the pump towards the rear by the sump and they have a long rod driving that pump now because the pump would be starving for oil and they're using a gear off the timing chain to run it at least that's better but still God damn it Ford what the fuck. I might do the 6.6 gas just because no AFM no DFM 10 speed automatic transmission and it's a hell of an improvement over the six-speed transmission that is bad stay away from that does not have any hold back whatsoever I'm actually looking at getting a service body truck unless they make one hell of a deal on a four-cylinder now that I know the four cylinder will easily tow 8,000 lb no problem whatsoever I'm pretty down with that because the most I would ever tow is like an older car on a trailer say the trailer weighs 2,000 lb on its own and then the vehicle's 3200 you get the idea they're still room there to even put a big giant pickup truck on top of that and still pull everything hold back capability I don't think is there unlike the 6.6 with that 10 speed yeah that will start down shifting pretty quick I found out and it will go to the point where it makes sense to give you most efficient holdback as in not too high but not too low Just a little background I drive it semi truck for a living so for me Jake break in the sense is a must you need to have some other option than just your service brakes Big trucks don't use service brakes to slow down we use the Jake brake unless we're crawling around town or something like that because if you think you're going to stop 80,000 lb if your foot break and you're just going to hold it the only thing you're going to do is fry em The one last thing here is it all comes down to what type of deal I can get and if I want it I'm just doing so much crap at home that renting a truck would be somewhat cost prohibitive now and that's why I'm looking at possibly getting one it just makes more sense to maybe trade in a vehicle yeah get gouged but you don't have to worry about someone else claiming that you damaged some type of rental vehicle we all know the games I just don't want to deal with it and now the truck's being big enough where you can get like a full size 11 ft service body plus a crew cab which is huge as hell bigger than most SUVs that's pretty nice where you can really stretch out in the back hell even take a nap and I'm 6 ft tall but I don't want no damn short bed I like to be able to haul PVC pipes lumber ladders you know use it as a working man's truck and considering that I'm not a fan of having a shit ton of technology seems like an LT might be my way to go something like that or WT anyhow a service body on the back definitely later on is going to add value down the road and at least I can store all my shit in the service body and leave the truck inside empty but still have the capacity to carry people but also have payload with junk in the trunk I'm probably looking at a 2500 HD or a 3500 HD I mean look at the interest rates look at everything going on it's just gouging time all around no matter which way so if I'm going to spend a fuck ton of money I might also get something tough as fuck really tough because I'm going to be stuck with it like we all are we're all in a really shitty situation thanks to our government
