Grind Season Outdoors
United States
Приєднався 4 вер 2016
The focus of Grind Season Outdoors is in the title. It’s all about the grind. We know that the outdoors can be so unpredictable and no matter how hard you work, sometimes you still don’t succeed. But as long as you work hard you never really lose. You win or you learn. Whatever the season… it’s always grind season!

“One of these days I’m gonna do a high speed clip” - is what got him.
I probably would have reacted in the same way, lol. It seems like in these situations, either people freak out or they are extremely calm.
My fear.
Glad you are ok.
10 grand... complete new lower unit... heartbreaking... it happened to me in 95.. 5500 then.. has to be 10k now. Hope you have insurance 😢
@@davefleming1117 I do have insurance thankfully. The motor completely broke off the boat and it cost 34k to repair the boat and replace the motor.
@@grindseasonoutdoors YIKES
Fun day. Congratulations
Good stuff for sure!!!
Oops 😢 fast not always good! So sad!
The Mississippi River will eat you 😩😩
This is why I have a precision sonar leash
Was this another skeeter like wes Logan
@@hunter5858 it’s a Legend
This is the second bass boat that I seen this happen to
why was he so far left ? run middle no on coming boats but was a boat straight in front of him but not under power,he should have been yards to right especially with a boat in sight that he headed straight for, btu i am sure he would have made a wide pass by the stopped boat bot who knows never made it there!!! hit a 4x8 sheet plywood with allison ,didnt see it underwater,it went up midsection, wedged between swivel bracket & trim rams. I was looking at where i came from just as fast as the 60 i was running, with a soaking wall off water!! instant water brakes
@@robertbunnell5045 I was on the Mississippi River and the slough I was driving through had a dead log that came down the river, I was running the deepest part. We pulled my motor out a week later and it was in 12 feet of water
I love the spro frogyoutney used to do it at havasu.such a levelplaying field. Great times.
@@northernbassalliance1442 it’s definitely a fun tournament, especially these days. Basically taking FFS out of the equation without actually taking it away is pretty cool

@@Gumboslice520 hell of an observation lol. I’m poor, and compared to other shoes I own, these are in amazingly good condition.
Your hey dudes hanging on for life. 😂how are you wearing them on the side of your foot ? Haha
One thing is I would never take my boat that close to the shore line going that dam fast ,you never know whats in the water my boat only does about 55 maybe 60 and that scares the hell out of me anyway in the middle of the lake ,
@@allenwebster6329 that’s about how fast I was going. I was on the Mississippi River though. It was a channel swing that I was following and I was in 12 feet of water. I hit a log that had floated down the river
@@grindseasonoutdoors a couple of months ago my son and I were at cape fair its more less part of table table rock lake in missour, you prolly heard of it anyway it had rained a couple of days there was crap all in the lake my son was driving he love fast I dont hes 17 now anyway I couldnt believe how much stuff was in the lake I kept telling him slow the hell down youre gonna hit something ,looked over and I guess another guy had hit a log I towed him back to the ramp ,the wierd thing is my boat never had a safety switch put on after that day I put on in so now I always wear it and make my son wear if hes driving, yeah things can happen im glad you didnt get hurt, did you get a new outboard also do you have insurance on your boat I was thinking about getting it I wonder if they would pay for an issue like that, anyway stay safe and god bless
@@allenwebster6329 yes, I did get a new motor and insurance covered it. I wouldn’t think about driving my boat without insurance for how much everything costs. And the life jacket and kill switch will definitely always be on me whenever I’m driving!
@@grindseasonoutdoors thats awesome, my boat isnt worth abunch im not sure if it would be worth it to have it covered ,its just 98 lowe, with 60hp force outboard on it just hook 2 fish finder and minn kota trolling motor nothing special about but I guess if you add up everything it maybe close to 4 or 5k ,Im still not sure if its worth it maybe ill check into it , will insurance cover outboard repairs I dont know anything about boat insurance or what it even cost these days
@@allenwebster6329 anything in an accident would be covered by insurance, like if you hit something with the motor for example. It’s basically the same as vehicle insurance. But for your boat, I would guess you’ll pay maybe a couple hundred bucks for the year with insurance.
O yeah Collin

Mississippi is no place for a novice...stay safe....theyll sell anybidy a boat....or motorcycle
Too damn fast for that river my man. Hope you learned that lesson, in addition to the life jackets and kill switch being reinforced. The Mississippi is a debris field and unpredictable, even if you think you know it. I know everyone wants to get there right now (wherever there always is) and open up their motors, but not only did you not make it, you almost bit the big one. Sometimes slower is better.
Needed to fish the marina area.
that was a blowout.....jack plate too high or trimmed up up just a tad too far
@@nunyabizznizz7326 tell that to my totaled motor that we pulled out of the bottom of the river
Favorite fishing man, are the frogs alive when you hook them up
@@TeeZtg yes they are still kicking as I put them on the hook.
@@grindseasonoutdoorsmight have to tell me foreman bout dat (he’s just learning how to fish)

Not bad?!?! Frog fish are more often than not your biggest fish! Just saying....
Gotta love Frog fishing! Great Job👍🏻
What app do you use to get the lock info?
I use the marinetraffic app. It has never let me down. Might not hurt to have find ship too, just to have multiple sources to double check with.
Gotta swing on em bruh.. @9:50
Which colors do you recommend headed up there this week for the 4th planned on walleye fishing but with the new regs looks like teaching the gf how to catch smallies. I know where to go just need to know what colors to throw
The smelt color is a good color for ned rigs and drop shot baits. Also a black hair jig will likely catch them pretty good under the right conditions right now.
@@grindseasonoutdoors we will be dodging thunderstorms this weekend up there I’m from Fargo never fished this like before
@@grindseasonoutdoors Thanjs for the feedback. Awesome lake my gf caught more fish than I did over the 4th. Some really big eyes over at the banana flats North side of the lake on Saturday.
@@davidtisch5237 awesome, glad you had a good trip!
I'm going up there for a week in October, im nerved up about the fishing. You never know how it's gonna go till you're there. Wish me luck brother
Finally, someone showing how to use the bait, not just trying to sell me on a $450.00 rod that I can only use on a hair jig.
Yeah I’m not gonna push stuff on to people, I hate that too. Nothing ruins a video like someone saying they wouldn’t throw a bait on anything but this $700 diawa reel that nobody can afford. The most important thing is having a spinning rod/reel for a hair jig. Putting braid on the reel for long casts and then a short leader at the end. One of the only specific things that’s a little more important with the hair jig is making long casts. But once you hook them, just have the drag set and it doesn’t matter a whole lot.
The legend is sick dude! Always have wanted one.
Thanks dude, they are awesome. I love mine!
Yeah so was the Cobra before it then Champion all John Story boats. But I didn't think much of them
Legend, Hawk, Cobra,Viper all John Stories boats made off a Ranger 482 hull. Before that, he made Champion boats. I never thought much of his boats.

Bet that raised bridge got the pilots attention.
Would have scared the heck out of me, but I’m also not flying airplanes for a living haha
He saw the bridge long before. These guys fly upside down 10 feet from each other.
@@JiGtheRock what does their formation flying skills have to do with a potential unexpected variable along the flight path? If that bridge was down on their sighting runs and then raised on that run, it would be an attention getter.
@@matts719 bro you’re just yappin. These are the best pilots in the world. The bridge is not a concern. They got so close to it on purpose. You live under a rock and never seen an air show?
@@JiGtheRock Ok, so if he got close to the bridge on purpose, then it probably had his attention, right? Because that's all I originally said. Notice in my original comment I never called the skills, reflexes, or vision of a friggin top shelf Blue Angel into question. Are there any other arguments you want to create from my simple statement?
