    JUST LET ME FOLD IN PEACE!The mental game? What drives me crazy is " reverse " bad beats, im talking about folding 9-4o. Only to see that it turned into the nutz in a 3 way huge pot!, Ok it happens , but then your aces get cracked by 5-6 o.

    When I'm playing good I can't even eat..far too focused and driven..however once that win comes then the mindset changes again...I'm trying to find this hunger/desire state..ya see the game in a different way and can be 4 steps ahead of everyone lol betting sizes perfectly measured,steals and lines all on point, confidence in bluffs..and folds ....opposite end of the spectrum..tilty,timings way off,seem card dead,nitty passive play or reckless frustrated aggression 😂

    I'm 27 been playing since I was 19. Tilt has really almost disappeared. Plus the best part is I know longer have to end up money which was a big problem, after losing several buy ins I can take th day or days of doesn't matter. When I lose serious money say 10+ buy ins I take few weeks off. In the past I'd grind like an idiot these days i get the opposite temptation feel like taking a serious break. If you aren't a calm composed person in your real life, who is pensive and not rash you simply cannot play poker. Poker is for the mentally strong I'm not a great player just average but mental game losses can be the difference between a winning and losing player

    Appreciate the vid. Tough to admit to weaknesses, but I got alot out of this. There are definitely times that fear gets in the way of my logical abilities.... A while ago I came into some money outside of Poker, and at the time my previously precious Poker bankroll became inconsequential. For a few months my game took off because I no longer had any anxiety around what was set aside for Poker. When life caught up to me, this got paid off, I had to get this and that, and I had to start managing what was left of my windfall, I went on a downswing.... Looking back I figured out the connection, and the fact that when I suddenly wasn't concerned about money in general, and by extension the state of my bankroll, fear was totally lifted from my play and as a result I played better. It was a really big lesson for me. It showed me the difference between seeing decisions at the table being about the cards or being about the money. For me one's logical and one's emotional. So I'm definitely always on guard when a decision on a particular street is in front of me, am I considering this action logically or is there any emotion creeping in to influence what I do? Thanx for the vid 👍

    It is also true that sometimes when you tilt it helps you - I did learn a lot when I tilted bad and went full LAG aggro while still being a good player. I'm sure I learned how to be a good LAG during tilt sessions where I read situations well, and in my usual game wouldn't try and move them off the hands, when I'm tilted I'll fire the 2.5X pot overbet in good spots and put people in real bad spots. Then it helps you to incorporate the overbets at good times (problem when I'm tilted is the "really, every single hand they are going to have the nuts? - oh of course they have AK and I have QK on a KAK flop!"

  • @jasonhounsell3297
    @jasonhounsell3297 5 років тому

    Haha the 7 tilts - I've had to deal with all of them except revenge as I've had feuds with regulars and players but it's a calculated levelling where adjustments are being made constantly. Worst by far is the desperation one as it does make you jump up in stakes - sometimes it works ok as your much more alert and it kind of snaps you out the tilt -- bad when your still running bad and the 8% hits against you on a big table and you feel like nothing you can do will ever win. However I can't stand losing sessions.

    oh please. Don’t tell me please about strategy and stats. I had AA and placed a large bet, the villain called, flop A22, I checked he raised, I called. The turn was a 9, he went all in and I called. The river brought a third 2 and he showed 92os.

      That's why i don't really see Poker as a sport but simply a fun betting game. Imo 50% of the game is about luck, it's bascially selective gambling and mind game gambling

      Don’t call, raise and try to realize that in poker it’s a marathon and not a sprint so you should always be playing the correct way and you’ll get rewarded for it more often than not. Can’t be afraid with a top 10 hand

    cool man thanks for this .. I had a friend and the best 1-3 player in my casino suggest this to me after I told him it's my biggest weakness .. and man he wasn't lying .. this really helps .. it's basically stuff I already knew about myself but you pin pointed it for me and also gave me a couple tools to combat it .. my dad keeps saying "oh you just gotta leave" or "everyone runs bad so you gotta have loss limits and just go home" and I keep telling him no that's not the problem the problem is me! going home or quitting after two buy ins doesn't fix the problem. so I'm glad you touched on running away from your problems does NOT fix the problem it only masks it. now I can better explain to him where I'm coming from when we disagree on that. I start playing bad because my mental skill needs work and not because of those typical excuses everyone else makes. I gotta look into your books and also any other free content you have open to the public. ty for the free content. took me a few months to actually get off my ass and watch this LOL but after this last session I am absolute fed up with my mental break downs. enough is enough. i luv your approach and you are def a coach i can relate to. so ty.

    Hey Jared my name is Adam. I've watched all your videos and MAN this is really good content. Everything you talk about is right on with what you need to do in order to turn yourself from just good to PRO. Thank you for your contribution to the game for people who need to elevate their skills and let go of those barriers. Are you still coaching? Do you know any coaches on game play fundamentals too? Please get a hold of me, I'm very much interested in talking with you.

    Dear Jared,I have watched this video five times, so far,,,,, I am stunned. I cannot believe that even you, as an accredited therapist, can have such an astounding understanding of emotions and responses. I cannot believe that you can pinpoint every single thought and feeling that runs through me while I play N-L poker. If I could afford it, I would have counseling sessions with you every single day that you were available. I, too, have written a poker book about emotions and responses during poker play. Your book, deservedly, covers the professional realm of responses and emotions. My book is an animalistic version of your book. (PS: I did not know about your book when I wrote mine. Also, I cannot wait to read both of your books.) Jared, I am a total animal when I play. I curse winning players. I silently wish them death and an assortment of cancers. I especially curse entitled players, etc. etc. The name of my book is The Brilliant Donkey. I would love for you to read a few chapters of my writing, on Amazon. I guarantee that you will not be bored. I also guarantee that you will have some enjoyable laughter. I would, then, love for you to respond, with your opinion. I would, especially, love for you to give me permission to send you a complimentary copy. Jared, I am dying for your email. Sincerely, Frieda Cinova
