I loved your story about your bag. I bought a Kipling bag that had a smoke/musty smell, I sprayed that purse with so much clothes sanitizer, probably too much. But I wanted that smell gone. Then I let it sit for about 2 weeks before I used it. Everything else was great with the bag it just had that smell. But I kinda expect that sometimes I'll get a bag that smells because I'm sure a lot of the purses come from people who've stored them away or bought at estate sales and such. Anywho I also got the smell out. And now before I buy a bag I ask if there's any odors 🙊.

Ot tip for air travel with sling bags. If you wrar it as a fanny/waist pack it will count as apparel, not a personal item. That way you can still bring a personal item bag and a carry on for the overhead. If you wear it as cross body it counts as personal item!
