Claire did not try to go through the stones. I did not shed a tear for Brida or when she died because she caused soooo much pain, agony, & terror. She was an annoying character after season 1, she didn't ever support Uhtred in any way in season 1or ever when he joined the Saxons because he wanted to get his home back, she didn't care. I was more than happy to see her go & for Stiorra to kill her, she was the source for all the pain, but at least she apologized to Uhtred.

Aethelstan is a not really a "bastard" he is just refferred to that so people won't go after him or see him as a threat, but Aethelhelm & his daughter knew better, I guess. Aethelflead historically died of Dysentry in June of 918, then Aelfwynn did serve as Queen after her for a sort time like 6 - 18 months, but was deposed & Edward took over. Uhtred is not the reason that Ragnar died, he still could've died even if Uhtred stayed with them, so Brida blaming Uhtred is unnecessary. She's a narcissist because she never takes accountability, she's always blaming someone else especially Uhtred.

Alfred doubt Uhtred because he keeps doing things that make Alfred doubt him like going into Daneland, but if he didn't go into Daneland, Uhtred & Alfred wouldn't know that Sigfrid & Erik were planning to attack Wessex & Mercia & kill everybody. What really makes Uhtred distrustful to the Saxons is because he was raised by Danes & the Danes are not to be trusted, they are known to set traps, their kniving, deceitful plans & such though Uhtred is a Saxon by blood, they don't fully trust him.

I do think they occasionally make a point to show these leaders are an extremist sect of Christianity. Sadly there are actually people who live somewhat similar to this. I was raised in a Christian household and they are truly good people. The extremists make the good look bad sometimes. But that’s in any religion, sex, race, country, cat, dog, etc😂. If there’s 1 thing I can say for sure In life, it’s that there are good and bad in all groups.
