Giant Schnauzer vs 3 rats in 1 week
It seems we never ever get rid of all the rats. Got 3 last week and had Tux take care of them.

Security tag removal under 10 seconds

If you've ever come home from shopping and found a security tag still on your clothes. Here is the quickest way to remove it. I used 3 neodymium disc countersunk magnets. Connect magnet to tag and you'll hear a click. Press on the pin head, then pull and it should release.

Propane Torch vs Weeds

Thought it would be fun to use the propane torch to eliminate some weeds, so I asked my eldest daughter to do it. It's a very satisfying job. And on a cool day it will keep you warm.

Giant Schnauzer Ratting Attempt 8 | Not Great
Переглядів 816Рік тому
Tux was a little bit under the weather. He accidentally ingested come candy he found and it made him pretty sick. Unfortunately we trapped another rat and had to get him to dispatch it. If you watch you will see he is not as aggressive as he usually is, but he did still kill the rat without much suffering. Hopefully the next one will be much quicker and with a lot more drive behind it.
Giant Schnauzer Ratting Attempt 7 | Fastest Kill Yet

Tux has done a great job at mitigating the rat problem we have that we were not sure if we would trap another one. As most things go, when you least expect it, another one shows up. As you may know the Giant Schnauzer derived from the Standard Schnauzer. Killing rats, also known as "ratting" is part of what made the Schnauzer breed special. From the AKC website: "Like the world's other barn-and...

Giant Schnauzer Pup vs Rat pt 2 | First Kill
Переглядів 993Рік тому
This is Tux's second time seeing a live rat. Being so young his prey drive is not fully developed and is just starting to engage. As you can see he still doesn't really know what to do with the rat other than to play with it. Sadly this does not result in a quick kill, but this is the way predators learn. Going forward I am hoping his ability to quickly dispatch rats will improve with practice.

Female or male Gaint schnauzer for family with kids?
I don't have a lot of experience with female dogs, I always choose males. I would say what would be more important is to have your children bought in and heavily involved in the training of whatever dog you choose. I see a lot of people having to give up their Giant Schnauzers because they are not doing well with their children.
Co0L
Cane" Corso It's extremely athletic mine up until she was about 5 used to jump my 6 foot fence. At 120 pounds. They are only as lazy as their owner. And one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever seen. My understands for separate languagesAnd has double medical certifications for me. Also Was trained for protection work. You can Continue the training forever only limited by us.
You should be careful with balls of this size. Here, a German Shepherd had a fatal accident caused by a ball like this. The vet refused to put his hand in the choking dog's mouth. The dog suffocated miserably.
Two very similar dogs they also contain some of the same breeds in their creation. In my opinion it’s a toss up . Can’t go wrong with either breed working lines only preferably European.
I love the Boxers. Not cold weather dogs, tho. I just had to put down my beloved dog companion. Have been trying to balance Boxer, Labrador (black have been most protective in my experience) or Giant Schnauzer. I like the Standard Schnauzer, but don't think the deterrent *look* is enough.
Just put llce headers and my truck is slower😢
@FranciscoGarcia-u8n slower in which way? From a stop, acceleration, top speed? Is yours a manual or automatic transmission?
Beautiful dog. I'm thinking of getting one. How do they smell compared to a doberman? (the dog smell) Do you hand strip or shave the hair?
Not sure I can answer this accurately as both of my dogs spent/spend a lot of time in dirt, mud, pond water, and swimming pool. So they would be dirty in some form 80% of the time and would mostly just get hosed off. Generally speaking, Tux's shaggy hair retains smell longer than Kazi's short hair did. As far as grooming Tux, we get him groomed about once a month. In the summer he gets a shorter haircut and in the colder months we leave him shaggier around his legs and lower abdomen.
I quit watching when I couldn't see the ducks. Cat makes great dozers tho.
❤
Could you please provide the name of kennel (breeder) Thank you

@davidwindmueller6000 I'm debating between rottweiler doberman german shepherd. All of them shed. The gaint schnauzer dont shed at least. I'm gljust afraid that the dog park or doggy daycare for few hrs won't keep him calm. I'm debating between female or male g.s
@@nycas2192 All 3 breeds need a strong owner and a lot of exercise or they can become a problem in your home. I'm partial to Dobermans over the others just because they are so smart.
breeder info?

I've had GS' for most of my life. My last one, Toro, lived until almost 14 years old. He passed away one year ago, and yesterday I found myself looking for breeders in my area. GS' can be addictive. Smart, curious, protective clowns. Hope you enjoy yours!!!
Australian shepherds don’t have presence, but they THINK they do and sometimes that’s enough 😂
I hate how you went out of your way to say american pitbull terriers are dumb. They are smarter than both of the dog breeds you have. There intelligence is better in sport you dont know how to train or gameness for hunting. You areliterally choosing a dutch over a malinois like man scary you have no info on doing serious training or first hand expirience
No they're not.
@@davidwindmueller6000 yes they are the line breeding has been done for over 135 years with very strict breeding lol. Let me guess you think a blue nose is a real pit gtfo. Apbt outclass any breed when it comes to game hunting, pit fighting, and agility sports lol. They also excel at human protection. The apbt is better than any dog breed hands down. You never have even owned or seen a actual real apbt. The apbt will kill your dog then you!
@@davidwindmueller6000 keep talkin out your ass mr dutch shepard over malinois. You chose one of the most unstable dogs lol.
dob is still the best go get a dobermann again

Tux is growing into a very Handsome Dog🤩🤩
👏🏼👏🏼Great Job Tux‼️🤩
Great choice they are dorbermen dna in them live 12 to 15 years old tough as nails extremely strong very smart dog you have to train him well are he will become the leader and could be dangerous had a 125 lbs giant people were scared but he was well trained would not anything only on command cheers they love the cold from 🇨🇦
Who would ever suggest a border collie?! Whoever suggested that breed to you is a downright fool. They are not breed to guard anything, they only herd.
Cane Corso, Dogo Argentino & Pressa De Canario kill more humans than any other breeds. Many have started integrating these breeds into pits, making them even more dangerous.
I have always owned miniture schnauzers and really like their personalities. We are getting ready in the next few months to move to our family farm and want to get a companion that will be suitable to our new life. Had your giant schnauzer been working out well living on a farm? If so do you have a recommendation of where I could find a reputable breeder? I live in KS.
Tux has been really good in our farm environment. He likes to herd the chickens a little too much, but otherwise he's great. Here's a link you might find useful: marketplace.akc.org/puppies/giant-schnauzer
@@davidwindmueller6000 thank you!
Always interested in this breed. But i live in a tropical country and i don’t recommend this breed to live in this temperature.
I'm glad you got another dog that fits you. I've always admired giant schnauzers. One thing, though. Maybe I'm misconstruing, but to want the public to give you a wide berth in public spaces sounds pretty entitled. It just rubs me wrong when people use their dogs to intimidate other people, especially in spaces that belong to everyone. If you want to be left by yourself, out in public, stay home.
@Philliwolf5 maybe you don't value personal space like I do.
I’m looking into getting a giant who is your breeder?
Elegy
How do they compare to gsds size wize
They are smaller in stature.
Would a Doberman and Giant schnauzer be good together in the same home?
@@healthylifeyoga8825 that would depend on the owner. But I think it would work.
We have two female GS, we do NOT breed them. The oldest is 5 and about 85 pounds, she is full guard whereas her niece is our second one and close to 3 yrs old, she is a BEAST, she hits the scales at 110 pounds, solid muscle. The largest of the two is more like a black panther than a dog, she walks like one, behaves like a cat and can flat footed jump over 5' high from a standing position. They are both very very protective and all the grand kids belong to them, they both have made it clear to the grand kids parents there will be no spankings with them around. I will never be without Giants in my home.
Interesting video. I have a active and professionally trained Cane Corso who loves herding in the cattle, running besides the ATV,chills out with the chickens sitting on top of him. When the weather is hot and a CC has webbed feet,he swims in the pool ,loves to go on barn hunting races or chilling out on the sofa. A CC is a very active breed, not a couch potato, lol. He's been the best working breed for our family. We will always have guardian breed in our home. We've had in the past dobbie, blue heeler,American Bulldog, Caucasian Shepard, but our CC has been the easiest to train and socialize. Plus, he's absolutely loves it when the kids are playing soccer or basketball. The only "problem " per say is when he took the jolly ball toy for himself and away from our old donkey.
We’re on Giant Schnauzers #6 and #7 now. We’ve typically always had 2 at a time. We’ve had Giants for the past 33 years now. My wife and I absolutely love this breed.
@danarussell4246 wow! Must be a lot of fun.
Have you noticed premature passings of any of them? I’ve heard stories about illness that creeps up fast. more than most dogs. is that true ?
@@brandont5211 All of ours have lived 12-13 years before being put down for typical health issues of all dogs.
I also see them like hairy Dobermans And if you ever see a clean shaven Giant they look like slightly more solid black Dobermans
Thanks for this interesting and informative video!!
GREAT dogs. Have a wonderful life with him.
Giant schnauzer a wise choice! I wish happy life with him! I hope you will train him, otherwise he could be a stubborn dog. :) Also Have a look some other breed like Hungarian Komondor or Hungarian Kuvasz.
Looks like a sweet boy. Hope you posted that naughty right ear. Melly had to be posted for almost a year before those ears would reliably stand. Enjoy your baby!!!!

Giant Schnauzer, Bouvier Des Flandres, Briard, Beauceron, Wire haired Dutch Shepherd, Belgian Laekenois, Black Russian Terrier. The First two would be the best.
I agree with you 100% and like you I have had both, The Doberman is a great dog for the reasons you stated. BUT THEY DO NOT DO WELL WITH EXTREME TEMPS, COLD OR HOT. My pair of giant schnauzers where the absolute best! The female "Showgirl" was super intelligent; she did some things naturally, I never had to train her on certain things. The male "Kid Dynamite" was definitely "dynamite." But very affectionate and he actually took has lead from the female, "showgirl." However, The Giant Schnauzer is very strong willed and not necessarily for the unexperienced owner. If you want a top of the line dog and understand how to properly train your dog and establish yourself as they "alfa" then you cannot go wrong with this breed.

I recently lost my working line GSD and have also been looking at a Giant Schnauzer
Have you considered beauceron? I know this is older video though. Just curious what do you think.
I did look at the Beauceron, but like the GSD, Dutch shepherd, and Malinois, the fur shedding was why I chose the Giant Schnauzer over those breeds.
good choice.
Hes getting big.
Hes was such a good boy sorry for your loss, but glad you have a new family member.

Schnauzer in all sizes are very good dogs. They have good health, very smart and learn easy.If they have good activities and play time, they are absolutely lovely.I will never choose another breed after owning a Schnauzer🌞👋🇧🇻
