Media addict, but I mostly talk about anime and manga.
The Appeal of Satoru Gojo
Throughout the current landscape of manga and anime, Jujutsu Kaisen has without question made itself a force to be reckoned with. From it's great fight sequences, excellent execution of darker themes and fast but well paced story, it without a doubt deserves the popularity that its amassed over the years. Though, in my opinion, one of the series most compelling aspects is it's great set of characters, and within that cast lies the unofficial poster boy for the series and arguably the most popular character, Satoru Gojo. Today, I'll be discussing the Honored One himself and why I find him to be such an appealing character.
As always, my opinion is subjective, so if you disagree or have a different take, your opinion is totally justified.
Hope you enjoy.

Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Illustrated by Araki Hikaru, Bokutachi ga Yarimashita, or "We Did It", is one of the most unique manga's I've ever come across and one that I haven't been able to stop thinking about since I initially read it a few years ago. In this video, I go over the insanity of the plot and what makes this manga such an incredibly interesting read. As always, my opinion is...

I didnt understand how they could remove the skull knight.
art is art because it doesn't have a quantifiable measure why it's held in such high regard, even though it's your opinion, berserk 97 is objectively the only berserk adaptation that exists for a lot of people for that intrinsic quality that good art has and as stated before it's not measurable but it's there and people resonate with it.
I wish it could have gone on a little while longer man this was so epic
Just finished it last night it is the most overrated anime ever when it finally start to get good it ends. Wasn’t worth watching mostly boring episodes to get to it wish I woulda just skipped to the end
Could somebody please get an ai to read all of the manga in the voices from the 97 anime? That would be sick!
The scope of the anime is one of my favorite parts. The large back drops and sweeping landscapes makes it feel like youre in a portion of an actual spanning country. They really put the spirit of the manga into the anime.
I love the coloring in the anime too. Far superior to the other adaptations.
Bro this show boring af…boring…so boring…the manga seems good but the show is just so slow. I just want the dark apostle ish and it never gets there. They taking butt naked showers and throwing buckets of water on each other. This someth8ng i didnt sign up for. It might be for you “guys” but no this aint “anime” anymore…
No one needs to shit on this and say "Read the Manga". Instead, say, "Awesome video. You'll likely enjoy the manga even more".
The music is just insane.
What makes Berserk ‘97 such a masterpiece in my eyes is that it’s honestly just one big platform for the manga, an open invitation. Collectively most people, myself included, picked up the manga because we were so invested into the story and characters. Adding to the fact that still to this day it’s the BEST adaptation of Berserk which is quite sad, but I’ve learned over the years that Berserk is unadaptable due to its greatness.
if hes gonna be used as a tool for his strength since birth then he deserves to revel in that strength like he does honestly
as someone who has trouble getting himself to read anything ever anymore The show has always been a masterpiece i've watched the first few episodes countless time the mangas better but really just cause theres more of it
Fun fact: This video is actual what pushed me to watch and read Berserk. I just want to say, that you Grim, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here.
Bro you gotta chill with the images that play in the backround as your talking... it goes waaay too fast.
we cant forget about those outtakes lmao. also the main theme of the 97 anime is the worse thing i have ever heard
I liked the animation but I ain't reading a rape fantasy for the lore
The memes, Twitter posts.. Got his pockets ran & spun the block creating "the" ultimate meme & his power set is essentially pull & push but nobody but Toji described as such.. He's goated.
OG berserk has always been my favorite. Saw it at 15ish in the late 90s. Loved it. Been a fan since. High hopes for the new one coming out.
thank you for making those connections about him wanting to protect others’ youth, that was brilliant! and well-reasoned. I’m glad that despite all those things Gojo gives himself the freedom to be youthful and silly, especially in the face of the corrupt ones in power who symbolize the greatest threat to that freedom - adding all the more to his sense of his strength Would love to hear your other observations about the complexity of his written character even in bullet point form :)
I’ve never been angry at a cartoon before. Well, time to go read the book.
Berserk 97 holds a very special place in my heart
whats the first show in the beginning of the intro, ive been trying to look for it for so long
I've never heard anyone so accurately describe why Guts theme is absolutely perfect.
I would like to add that Berserk is so influential that when I started watching it I noticed many uncanny similarities with a story I had been writing on my own long before I looked into Berserk
Fantastic main character, music and story. Arguably one of the greatest anime/manga series ever, along with Rurouni Kenshin.
I just got my first berserk book because of the 97 show
‘97 anime was the first anime that I really loved, and most definitely inspired me to start the manga. None of the other adaptations have felt the same
The band of the hawk tuah.
I’m excited to see the 97 version, but the memorial golden arc and 2016 are both better than this gives it credit for. This narrator sounds like a dope.
I legit watched 6 hours from someone posting the whole story on youtube. It was amazing
I think berserk genuinely ruined manga for me, as someone who’s reading it right now and its the first manga I’ve gotten into I’ve tried reading other manga too now and it all seems so unpolished comparatively
Great Video!
You exactly listed why I love gojo. Omg. I stupidly relate to him so much. Especially the loneliness. ON GOD. he’s the BEST. Thanks for this wonderful analysis!!
There is a UA-cam channel dedicated to making berserk season 2 swordsman arc in 97 style called Arche its really good but only one guy is doing it so only 1 episode has been animated check it out also the sweet artist released the same episode in 2d3d mixed style on their UA-cam channel 7 days ago
Where can you watch an uncensored version of the ‘97 anime? I can’t find it anywhere
Animepahe
@@illu9995 sweet thank you!
Dracula Gabriel Virgen
I grew up with Peter Jackson's LOTR, and always felt it's unbeatable, but I think Berserk 1997 is genuinely the one creation that is better than LOTR as the music especially in combination with all the other elements creates such a warm cosy feeling that I don't get from even LOTR, and then plummets us into such horror that LOTR doesn't touch either. I would give my life savings to get a LOTR in Berserk 1997 intensity and style, and a Berserk series with the best qualities of both Peter Jackson's LOTR and the 1997 anime 🔥
bro perfectly analyzed how Guts theme evokes certain feelings
oh when thanos sacreifice gamora like the behelit pact.
Berk is just peak in general ngl.
Did you adjust for inflation 5:45
Hey why did you stop making videos ? I feel like you have immense potential. :)
"the most what the fuck ending there is" killed me 😭
I just finished watching '97 Berserk and I do not know anything else about Berserk than that. I also now started to read the manga and I am glad they removed the fairy from the anime because it does give the series a whole new vibe. The fact we only get like 3 chapters with demons on em and 1 is just Zodd for a bit of that episode, make it way more shocking when I saw the eclipse. I am sure that otherwise I would not be this interested in continuing the series
Weird for Elden ring to be mentioned as overplayed nonsense but it literally stands on berserk and proudly what
0:36 same jjk fans be trying to trick me into thinking this is so long show ago. Just 5 yeara
Im not really an anime type of person, I've only ever enjoyed this show and one other. I haven't watched or read anything aside from the 1997 run-through. I really wish that there was so much more than just 25 episodes. I hope one day we get the full story, represented in a way the whole world can digest it. It is beautiful and tragic and horrific.
Objectivity in Media does exist and Berserk 97 was awesome, although definitely not perfect. Unfortunately many people believe subjectivity is the only way to view media. If anything caught me deep on a subjective level it was definitely the soundtrack.
Also for the music section, dont forget the damn good intro
