New Routemaster London bus goes fully electric with Equipmake repower technology
Electrification specialist Equipmake showcases its latest pure-electric bus technology, in the shape of a zero-emission version of the New Routemaster double-decker bus.
The clean, green New Routemaster has been “repowered”, a process which sees its hybrid drivetrain completely replaced with Equipmake’s cutting-edge Zero Emission Drivetrain (ZED), using 95% British-built component content.
With pre-service trials already started in London, operated by Metroline, the electric version of the New Routemaster will continue to be assessed over the next six months. The programme will deliver valuable test data as Transport for London (TfL) continues to evaluate a range of clean technologies, including state-of-the-art repower systems such as Equipmake’s ZED.
The repowered New Routemaster, developed by Equipmake at its base in Snetterton, Norfolk, features a 400kWh battery enabling an expected in-service range of 150 miles - more than enough for a day’s running. The development of the all-electric New Routemaster has come about thanks to a programme part funded by the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).

How 3d flux path improves flux density instead of 2d flux path?
Are they as efficient as the axial magnetic flux motors from Yasa or Magnax? Probably not.

You have a small error: the bus was not designed and made in Norfolk. It is designed and made by Todo Bus S.A. in Argentina with an Agrale diesel engine and was sent to Equipmake to convert it to electric.

Equipmake, well done for converting this bus to electric using your team expertise in this field. We need the UK government to fund or part fund the conversion of say Norwich existing buses fleet as a showcase project - "Breathing life into our communities" with the work being carried out by Equipmake in Norfolk.

Muy bueno. Ese tipo de Bus se utiliza más en la capital de Buenos Aires y demás provincias. Generalmente en el conurbano se utilizan Mercedes-Benz Ugarte Americano o Europeos. Saludos.

IF I was a Dragon venture capitalist then my words would be, you've got my attention!! The big and only questions normally always apply as am sure you'll understand such as the figures, business flexibility, licence agreements aswell as any pending patents, sustainability and pre-tax profitability over the next fiscal year(s) from each quarterly sales growth/forecasts! Suffice to say it's a very impressive but short pitch!! IF I was a venture capitalist then one of my main fundamental questions however would be, if I may, is that of your USP over other rivals within this field (pardon the pun) such as EVO for example?? These are questions and answers would be best subject to a NDA prior to an investment(s) between both parties to help protect all cooperate company secrets and interests aswell as pending investments.
