This react was incredible. Your facial expressions in the final scene said all we needed to know about your feelings in those moments. While Polanski did a great job with the cinematography and visuals, I would attribute the most credit to the original author. Polanski did a mostly very rigid interpretation. The social commentary of the story (bodily autonomy, etc) came from Ira Levin, the author. Its also nice that you were able to contextualize this in the time period of 1968. It was much harder back then for a woman to not rely on her husband for financial support, as well as being believed. Dr Hill wasn't in on it- he just thought she was crazy. And called her husband. So much of that dread and terror is from seeing how she's been in this prison.

Wow, Thank you. I really need to read the original novel because this story hit me pretty hard (obviously) See, I really thought Dr. Hill was a plant from this cult to keep her under their control. It makes sense because he seemed like he genuinely cared. That ending though.. Yeah it got me good.

The god in the movie was actually made up so no groups would be offended. I enjoyed your reaction. I see you hadn’t created any new content in some time. Whatever the reason it’s ok to take a break. But like some others have mentioned I think if you have time you should definitely keep making more content. I look forward to following. When this movie first came out no one knew it would be such a hit. I was at the theater opening night and the theater was packed with tons of girls dressed as witches. I think it just struck the right chord at the right time and took number 1 at the box office. Which baffled critics but if you knew you knew lol

Great reaction, you should get back to posting videos. This is one of my favorite childhood films. Fun fact: the directors weren't aware that Fairuza Balk (Nancy) was a practicing Wiccan when she was hired for the film and she ended up consulting behind the scenes and purchasing the shop you see in the movie (it was a real shop).

Here in Argentina they always showed it on cable TV, the first times I saw it, I watched it in parts, because my mother was a fan, she would have been 30 years old at that time. He told me that in the 90s the film was highly criticized. And when she saw that I learned most of the dialogues, she didn't let me see her, she was secretly looking at her. They really gave it a lot on cable. Until I was older, and I see her the times that she pleases me. She has a special affection in my heart. Although many people don't know the movie,😔❤️

Fairuza Balk KILLED it in this movie. But you know who killed it even more? Her German VA! 😅 She REALLY gave it her all, you can totally hear it. And for double irony, it's actually the same VA who usually voices Bart Simpson.... 🤭 You should give the German dub a try.

Separate art from the artist. Polanski's one of the greatest directors in history, from Repulsion to Rosemary's Baby to Chinatown to Bitter Moon to The Tenant to The Pianist to The Ghost Writer, any other director would sell HIS soul just to have 2 of those movies on their Filmography. And Hitchcock sure would. Polanski never wanted to make a horror movie since he didn't believe in the Devil. But he DID believe in claustrophobia, since he lost nearly his entire family to the Nazis in the Holocaust. Trapped, like in The Pianist. Then he lost his very pregnant wife to the butchery of the Manson Family. And who did the tabloids blame? Polanski, because apparently according to the tabloids he conducted black masses during the filming of RB. And he sold his soul so RB would be successful. They HATED the 'hippie' director who would dare to make a movie that they said glorified Satan. But Roman Polanski made a movie about paranoid claustrophobia. That's always been the true horror for him as a Holocaust Survivor. He wanted Rosemary's Baby to be un-super natural until the last scene. Until that scene you could argue that Rosemary WAS paranoid and hallucinating. He also operated the only camera on Farrow as she crossed that busy street, which he didn't block off for filming. And the actor who went blind was voiced by Tony Curtis, a good friend of Farrow's. That odd look on her face while on the phone with him was real. Farrow wasn't told who it was until after the scene. She kept wondering why that voice seemed so familiar, she later said. Polanski made a very disturbing movie free of cartoon horror. It paved the way for other talented directors (like Friedkin's Exorcist) to not turn their noses up at the genre, that you could take horror material and make a great film. Modern Horror that aspires to be more than gore and jump scares owes everything to Polanski's willingness to tackle Satanism with a straight face.

The ending is great too. I had such good memories that I ended up watching The Craft: The Legacy last year and, oh dear, it's so bad.
