2024 quoted cost was 450 in labor and 760 in parts ( rotors, pad, hardware kit , even charged 5 dollars to lok tite the 4 hub bolts). 2 hubs( include wire harness) . For a 2005 canyon.
Literally can't see anything good thing I just fast forward or I would have wasted my time
What a joke of a video. Good luck with getting your vehicle back on the street.
Amen!
How do you remove chain from oil pump
I thought you got a knee reploacement and you were showing how you can bnd it... I couyld not see what you were donig.
You fast-forwarded through the part I needed to know> how in the world did you get those 4 screws out that are in a TERRIBLE and I mean TERRIBLE spot??!
Stubby torx. Long handle/short handle 1/4 drive. Wobble ext. PITA. But do able
Much help thank you. That took me no time at all
I have an Audi A4, 2011 2.0t I have low oil pressure only at idling. would that solve the problem if I replace it as shown how you did it
If its cheaper to just buy a lower control arm with all the groments and joiñts and install it that way for replacement. But i understand this video is to show how fo replace a ball joint.
I’m doing mine tomorrow I just need to take the timing chain off the old oil pump how did you take off the chain in the beginning ?
It’s on the sticker missing from the air box
2007?
2005
Kool video and what was that in the back a 1960?
Can't get much dumber than that stupidity but I wouldn't be surprised if that guy proved me wrong.
Are you really that cheap?
What a car!
It wasnt my style but it did have its perks
Do you need to loosen engine mounts to lift engine up?
I didn’t
These cars were called the forgotten generation from 73-77. I have a 1976 Malibu Classic Black in color. It had the week 305 engine in it. It now has a 1994 TBI 454 (throttle body injected) with the first gen electronic overdrive transmission (basically a electronic 700R4 transmission). Funny thing is the original 305 was 210hp and the 454 is 230hp, but 300ft lbs of torque There is a vacuum leak somewhere causing a high idle situation I have similar issues with the left rear quarter with the paint cracking that was done in lacquer paint and the rest of the car is in enamel paint The a/c dashes always are cracked unless you have a non a/c dash they seem not to crack right down the middle or look like the one this car has The only way I will ever get rid of this car if someone has a 1978 Dodge Lil Red Express truck that I possibly could trade for. I would not care if the engine or trans run in that truck I would swap it out for a newer Hemi engine in it.
They are cool cars if done right The one I had wasn’t exactly my style so I let it go If mine had a big block I might have held onto it a bit longer
Don’t listen to the haters, good video and music to work to. I’ve watched a ton of these videos and they are so boring sometimes that I fall asleep and the music in this video is great, some of my favorite songs are on this video. I’m a professional mechanic and a child of the 80’s and 90’s so it is great to see someone my age doing this. Work on and rock on!
Thanks for the support buddy I really appreciate it
Thanks doing mines next, here I go Great video 🫡
Thank you for the support
Excellent video, one of the best brake pad replacement videos I've seen. Well done.
Thank you for the support
I'm looking to buy a 2011 A5. About how much is it if I take it to a shop to replace?
I’m not sure what a shop would charge I would estimate $600+
I would just trade the car
what’s the twisty part to the drill? like the head of the drill
Swivel?
thank you
Perfect music, and thanks for the teaching video!
Slow day huh?
Yes sir
What kind of oil pan and mounts did you install
Oil pan was the firebird ls pan And I used cheap adjustable mount off eBay
How know if that pace is damage?? Do u have a vídeo of how was it?
When the belt makes noise this is the issue 80 percent of the time
What grease did you apply on the pads and on the bolts?
I use a ceramic break grease from Amazon on all moving/rubbing parts and anti-seize on all threads
I felt that sigh in my soul @17:00 mark lol
Almost kicked my butt
That's a stupid name you've got there mate.
The other 2 holes on your accelerator pump arm are for amount of "squirt" that the accelerator pump puts out. If you mash the gas and it dies off, you move it to the outer hole for more of a shot, just the opposite if it bogs down, you might have too much, so you move it to an inner hole. Between that and swapping out metering rods and springs you can really wake an Edelbrock up.
The Pan sounds good. That hard tail would not be comfortable for my bad back but it looks good. I've owned my kick only Pan for 25 years now, there are easier ways to start it. You didn't say, but it looks like a S&S Super B carb, it will work. If you start by putting the choke on, ignition off and kick it through 3 or 4 times with no throttle it will draw gas into the cylinders. Then turn on the ignition, hold the throttle at 1/4 open and start it. It should start with 3 or 4 kicks, if it doesn't start in 10 kicks then it is best to turn off the ignition and choke then kick it through a few times with the throttle held full open to clear the gas from the cylinders, then start the procedure over again. That choke is on or off so when it gets warm enough to start running rich you can turn off the choke. I have a S&S Super E carb on mine so the procedure is a little different with mine. You have a lot more general knowledge of different vehicles than I do and I watch so I can learn from you, thanks.
It’s kinda had to tell in the video but it’s actually a late model (90s) soft tail frame. The front legs and neck have been cut and stretched. I did basically the same process as what you described just different amounts of kicks and throttle. I also spaced off putting the choke on at the beginning. Probably would have saved me a ton of kicks Thank you for your support and input it means a lot. Encouraging comments help keep the motivation going to make more videos.
Great job💪🏻
Thank you
You want to trade for a 87 firebird trans am base model t top 2.8 V6 5 speed manual transmission with nitros car's in great shape
It’s already gone
I haven't watched the whole video yet, but that's a 76 front grill. The 77's had a slotted grill while the 76's had that honeycomb grill.
All done, thanks Warren, excellent vid, still got all my fingers and front brakes legit for a few more revolutions
I’m glad I could help
By the way the sr torquer heads will cost about $850 ready to bolt on no prep necessary which is cheaper than machining a used set if heads.
Ok if you want that motor to run properly take those 305 heads and chuck them in the garbage, they have very small intake runners and small valves. Do yourself a favor go buy a set of world products sr torquer heads they have the smaller combustion chamber and 1.94 in. 1.50 in. Valves as apposed to 1.78 in. and 1.48 in. intake and exhaust valves respectively and vortex style intake and exhaust runners. The 305 heads will never give you power over 4500 rpm on a 350(5.7 liter) they are way too airflow restrictive for a 350. That motor will make good torque just off idle and fall flat on its face at about 4000 to 4500 rpm. Seriously those heads a junk smog heads.
I couldn’t agree more With todays head options there are tons of better combos But with that being said the direction of this build didn’t have room in the budget for new new heads Thank you every much for your support and feed back
Had to look at the tv … thought it was Vice Grip Garage…. He sounds like he in attempting to imitate Derick .. says same stuff trying to be amusing.. give it up!!
Thank you for your input Yes we have some similar lingo but no I am not trying to imitate anyone
GOOD VIDEO.
Thank you for your support comments like this keep me going
my first car was a 1977 malibu classic tripple black my dad bought it off the showroom floor in 77 i got it in 78 with 15000 miles well i got rear ended and they totaled it i miss that car
Awesome story man Thank you for sharing I still have my first car, maybe one day soon I’ll do a video of digging it out
time to far adfanced way to far
Double the throttle spring, get a pcv system operating properly, fix the choke, set to specs, should run nice.
1979 a guy down the street had a 455 ss this body style. I think a 1973 or 1974 ? it was a cool car too.
I bet that had some get up and go
Good vid, especially liked the tip about pulling on the caliper before slipping it off, i too am about to to do my front pads and found this video the most useful one ontaweb
Thank you I really appreciate the positive feed back
Would you like to sale it the way it Sits now
This one has already found a new home
I love the 73-77 GM cars. Thats a fine example, despite the little flaws here and there. Great stance too, that car has some attitude.
The music is really annoying. Otherwise your videos are pretty good Kind regards. Martin. UK
Thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it. Would your suggestion be different music? Or none?
@@warrensgarage4764 thanks for the reply . Yes to a little music , sort of In boring bits of a video . But not too much . Weirdly I absolutely love music . But watching a video there can be too much . I discovered you earlier . I quite like your videos. Not too much music is good . I get you have a few followers so it is difficult. I watch pretty much to see cars truck come back to life . I live in the uk .’but I enjoy a Jeep . She’s 18 years old but keeps going lol . Please keep going with your blogs they are pretty good it’s just the music. Regards Mart in the uk x
@@martinnightingale6033 again thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it. My main goal for the music is to keep people entertained while fast forwarding the video to cut back on some time. But I will tone down the music a bit. Let me know what you think on the next video. Hopefully I will be releasing one this upcoming week.
Yeah the 77 Monte Carlo and the 77 Malibu have almost the same front end with the duel stacked square headlights. Iwas never a fan of them years but now that I'm older they are a little better then before but I like the Luguna's better then the Malibu's of 77 I like the late 70's early 80's Malibu's even more then them years of Malibu's
you were already too far advanced on the timing and then you went even more.
I’m assuming your saying that because of the position of the distributer or because of how it cranked? The distributer can be off a tooth or two and I can correct it by turning it a little further then normal. It cranks slow because the starter is weak and the 305 heads bump up the compression a bit.
