Yellowhammer Woodcrafts
United States
Приєднався 28 січ 2021
I love working with wood and building things. I hope I can inspire people to build things and have the willingness to try to make something on their own. I am a retired Army veteran (Chief Warrant Officer 3). Woodworking can be a really good way to take your mind off things if you struggle focusing on life. I hope to make this my full time job one day, but it will take the support of fellow woodworkers watching and subscribing to my channel. Thank you in advance.

@@Amandajackett thanks for watching
I do not see the wire on the Home Depot web site. Are you able to provide a link? All I see is SPT-1.
Do you put sand bags on these?
I actually ended up making the bases a lot bigger. I’ve never seen people set these up outside so sand bags wouldn’t really be needed inside.
What price could i command for a build like this?
@@Youbetcha12e $2000 to sell. $500-600 to rent
Thank you.

Is there anyway I could have you build me one of these for my wedding?
$2000 and you would have to pick it up. Can’t ship it. Or buy my plans and have someone local build it for you
i was waiting for the cat test. but your project came out fantastic! and don't get me started on your amazing wood shop.
@@fransantelli awww I only have dogs. I built all these for a dog and cat shelter
Hi, what caulk are you using that can be sanded? Most caulking is silicone. Please let me know, thank you!
Just door and window caulk from Home Depot. It’s not silicone.
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts thank you!
How’s the flatness of the side tables
Not perfect but good enough for what I do
.
List of tools ? Please, thanks
Check my channel. Lots of videos about Marquee Letters and everything you need.
Would it be possible to buy the jig for the router from you. I feel like it would be easier to buy it from you instead of making it myself. I'm learning this step by step by myself
Great built condo! Nice work
@@lifeisgreen2592 Thanks for watching
Looks really good. One thing I would change is the color of the carpet. I would have used a few different colors, just to give it some contrast and make it a little more interesting to look at.
@@NiceGuy-gc2tz wasn’t my choice. That’s what they wanted
If only I had a fully stocked workshop.
Nobody starts that way. I started with no shop, a crap skil table saw and miter saw.
Inspiring and educational.
Thanks for watching
This would be a great class to take. Love the ideas, no doubt happy cats. Unexpected Bonus feedback from the crows in the backround, they approve.
I'm making 3.5 ft marquee, how many do you think 100 ft wire would cover?
@@MMSBalloonCreations probably 8-10
Thanks for your reply back! I have another question you mentioned vampire sockets but I don't see those listed in the description. Which ones did you use?
Can’t you just mill it all and square it on the jointer ?
No
How do you store all of your letters? Must be quite a challenge.
I have an ocean container and an old bus.
im getting into carpentry, and i really hope my kittens love it !! thanks! :D very easy to understand video, thank you!!
Thanks
sky👌👌❤👌👌👌👌
Well done thorough review. Thank you.
Thanks
That's a nice little concession cart!
It's awesome you had Kevin Costner narrate this, lol you sound just like him
I’d like to have his money 😂
Thanks for the will thought out design and tips. If you end up making the sides the same, just make sure you flip it around(back to front).
Really nice design and build. They look so simple but that's because of the work you out into them! Taking lots of notes from your tips!!!
Thank you
Silly question I know. But I’m looking to do a wheel assembly like this with the right angle steel. How do you bolt the wheel through to the angle to allow it to spin? Much appreciated, thank you!
Whoops this was for your cotton candy cart video
What do you use as the axel, I guess that goes through the wheel and connects to the right angle
It’s part of the wheel
Is there a link to the wiring and lights from Amazon?
All the links are in the description
Thank you so much for your videos… you have helped us start our marquee business! We have our first wedding event today!

❤
How can you add a removable support to the back of the letter? In case they are being used outside and it’s windy.
99% of the events I rent for are inside so I have never built anything for using them outside
Great ad
Thanks

Hi I would like to order a food cart from you is there anyway you can contact me
Ive built a bunch of these letters and Im getting quite a bit of tear out when I make my miter cuts. Any advice on how to combat that?
Are you using birch from big box stores? If so, that’s why, stuff is garbage for cutting these sides. If you’re using sanded plywood like I am, try changing your blade and cutting slower. I get tear out every once in awhile but nothing like with the birch.
That's so awesome to hear, grats on your success!!!❤
Thank you so much!!
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts You are very welcome. =)
Another great product. Hello from Mobile, AL.
Hey, thanks!
Looks great!! 😊
I hope you have plans out soon.
I need to stop dragging my feet and start making these things.
Love the finish you used on the top
Early American stain
hello. What is the thickness of the acrylic? thank you
3/16 I think
We love your videos by the way.
How do you ensure you get your products back when your customers pick up?
No problem getting them back so far and I’ve made hundreds of rentals. Not something anyone really wants to keep.
Great video!!. As far as the saw bogging down with hardwood. I have a 10 year old Ryobi job site saw with an out feed table. I had big box store blades for years. Now I use CMT blades on my table saw and miter saw. With CMT I have no issues with hardwood up to 1 1/2" thick. No bogging or burning. I used to think blades are blades, they are all the same. Not true!!!. Good woodworking me friend.
I’ve learned in the last year or so, a good blade definitely makes a difference
Hi! What paint finish did you use and what size of screws did you use to sandwich the plywood and the trim together? Thanks
Just regular behr paint from Home Depot. Ultra white satin. Screws are deck or construction screws 1 1/4” long
Thank you.
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts specifically what kind of finish this Ultra White Satin paint? Is it “paint and primer” exterior paint or “enamel paint”? Also did you have to have to sand everything prior to painting?
@@allanvilla1870it’s Behr Ultra White with the red label from Home Depot. Glossy. If you use sanded plywood, not much sanding is required. I usually go over it with 220
Great information. One question I have is how do you keep them from tipping over?
Most rentals are indoors and they have no problem standing on flat surfaces
