✅ About The Beer Necessities: Beers, Breweries & Stuff!
A channel dedicated to visiting breweries and reviewing beers from around the world, providing an honest assessment along the way. The objective is to sample beer at source by visiting the breweries themselves, including monasteries that brew Trappist beers.
The initial episodes focus on Belgium, moving on to the German Black Forest and beyond!
Experiencing new beers has been a passion of mine for many years and this channel enables me to share those experiences with others. I hope my reviews will prove helpful to most people considering whether to try any of the beers I review. Enjoy!

Berliner Weisse is entirely different; made with brett strains and later changed by Kindl for popularity but you need to visit Schneeeule Brauerei to try the finest commercial example. The glasses are Maß not Stein.
Thanks, I refer to maß throughout the video but only on a couple of occasions do I reference “stein” because they often get called that in the UK, albeit incorrectly.
@@BeerNecessities It's always been that way and I do not know why. People regularly get this wrong so I like to inform when I can. It's for others not us.
Solid video Lads. I hope you enjoyed your time here in Munich! Prost 🍻
Thanks! I’ve now been to Munich 20 times…so it must be ok!!
@@BeerNecessities haha. Yup she goes ok alright.
Great informative video, heading over late November and can't wait to try some great beers! You said you brew and that you were going to try and get the recipe of one of the beers you were drinking, I do a bit of brewing too and was just wondering if they are open about their recipes and if you had any success in getting a recipe?
Hi there. A lot of the breweries are happy to disclose the malts and hops they use but not the precise recipe. Trial and error is my approach!
Coming soon my friend!
Suprised you didn’t take a trip to Rothaus brewery, one of the German all timers surely
I thought the algorithm had shown me every Oktoberfest-related video but i was wrong. Glad to get a chance to see it before coming to Munich again this September
Well, I’m an Oktoberfest veteran so I’m happy to share my thoughts and experiences!
Great videos really informative im going next year !
A lot of the settlers in Bermuda are related to the settlers of Virginia. In fact it almost became the 14th colony to join the American Revolution but they were deterred by the large Royal Navy base there.
Thanks for sharing. You definitely have to work on leveling your tripod and your audio quality though.
Good to have you back! Looks a much more chilled version to get stuck into without the associated tourist impact on the top of the Oktober version. Feels like a starter to see if you'd like the main event. Excellent work 🍻
Excellent insight ,very informative 👏
Moved to Belgium last year and I have yet to make it out there. I've tried all three beers of course and have some at the house (part of the new home delivery program) but I still need to go by there sometime. One of my favorites in the "Westy 12" along with Gouden Carolus Whiskey Infused and Bourgogne Des Flandres
I'm lucky to have been a few times and hope to return at some point this year. Whilst you're in the area you could take in the St. Bernardus brewery too, which isn't far away.
@@BeerNecessities I will! I forgot it was close to that same area
Muchos comerciales ya en existencia hechos via youtube, empeoran el estilo de la cerveza que pudo ser la mejor.
Exciting update! Although we've had a bit of time off, we are indeed going back to do another feature at Oktoberfest this year....but before we do that, we will be doing a feature at Oktoberfest's Little Sister, Frühlingsfest (Munich Spring Festival) later in April, which is held in the same park as Oktoberfest! So you'll be able to see the similarities and differences! Stay tuned.....
Brilliant video this, knew it was huge but no idea it was so vast! I'd saved this until I'd had an hour to go through, were you tempted to break up into a small one for each tent? I'm not big on lager so I'd be sweating that I like it at €15 a glass 😅. Great that it is free for all though so a far better deal than a UK style event 🍻
I was definitely tempted and this year I'll be going back to do something a little different, breaking it up into bitesize features. You should definitely try it, the beers are nothing like a pilsner and you can get a Marzen in places too which may be a bit more to your liking! Good thing is that it's also just a short walk into Munich where it's packed for of wonderful Kellers to experience.
@@BeerNecessities it is definitely on most of my mates bucket lists! I think the sing-alongs will get the cash out of their pockets 🤣 and I think Munich for a days break would work really well. A blend of the history and the beer alongside each tent would work really well - except maybe the fish tent!
" Belgian French fries ". That's a new one on us. Just say "Belgian fries".
Frites, that is. Mayonnaise, no ketchup.
Not sure I’d have named that wonderful opening beach after Southampton 😂. Great to see they’re doing their own beer (and the lengths needed to get the water!) Made me want to be on holiday ☀️ 🍻
I expected the tent to be big but the size of that pub / beer hall 😅. Not had one of these beers for a long time - reckon I’d be a fan of the unfiltered brewer version 🍻
Surprised by how hazy that MartinsBräu was. I’ve only ever been to Cologne in Germany and it’s wall to wall Kölsch there. Cracking selection of pints and they don’t mess around with the glassware 😂 🍻
I’ve been to Cologne 12 times, love a Kölsch. Favourites are Früh and Petersbräu….I need to go and do an episode there!
@@BeerNecessities that would make a great video - I really like how most of the bars are behind those huge curtains and stained glass so you have no idea whats going on! 🍻
Bermondsey up in London is a great spot for UK brewing - very difficult to film there but you’ll have the right approach taking it as you find it 🍻
Looked absolutely stunning those beers - checking Untappd I have never had one! Will have to rectify that as soon as! Great detail about the brewery and the beers - keep up the good work 🍻
It's incredible that pipe under the city isn't it! On the bucket list Brugge for me, even more so now. Excellent video, subbed for the next one 🍻
Thanks, mate. Brugge is beautiful, a great place to enjoy beers (and food) for a couple of days though the surrounding areas of West Flanders has even more to offer the beer lover (covered some in another vid). Subscription reciprocated, all the best!
@@BeerNecessities just watched that one too! Cheers, you can miss out my early work, didn't have a clue what I was doing 🤣
Cheers 🍻🍻🍻🍻 subscribed
Reciprocated!
love it mate
I much prefer the no.12 but the quantity you can buy has been changed to only two crates - at the moment - perhaps it will go up again? I tried to order some a couple of months ago (at the time I could only order no.6 or no.12 and it's all done on-line now) but the no. 12 had sold out before I could get through to the ordering process. On the "off-chance" I called into the cafe and was able to buy 18 bottles over the counter - they sell it in boxes of 6 bottles - (plus I took my 20 year old grandson and he got 18 bottles for me), so not a total loss :)
Well, at least the story has a pretty happy ending! I've been lucky enough to always get all 3 types, even when just visiting the shop and not pre-ordering. For me personally, the 12 is a beer for winter - the complex profile whilst sat next to a log fire go hand in hand! Whilst the blonde, which I think gets overlooked because of the 12, is outstanding on a lovely warm day. Already planning my next trip there! I've actually brewed my own blonde clone recently...it's bottle conditioning at the moment so we'll see over Xmas whether I nailed it or not!
@@BeerNecessities good luck with your "clone". If it anything close to the no.6 you have done well, and it will be a nice drink.
This guys real knows his onions. It's the best beer channel on UA-cam
I don't know an awful lot about onions but we may explore them as a future episode opportunity!
Just stumbled across your channel and cannot understand why you don’t have more subscribers. Love the presentation of your vids and its clear to see , your a natural in front of the camera. As a lover of travel with Poland , Germany, and Belgium being my favourite haunts and my fondness for Belgium beers this channel is right up my strasa. Looking forward to more videos and it won’t be long before your giving Bald and Bankrupt a run for your money. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you. It's still a very new channel, I guess these things take time.....plus I don't crave popularity, just doing it for the love of it!
Hi we met you at Oktoberfest, will you be releasing that video anytime soon?
Hi Tom, yes, next week or two it’ll be up. Just got to finish the editing!
Steve u look serious xxx
Привет ты самый лучший снимай по больше 朗朗朗朗😀😀😀😀😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍
That pool looks freezing!!
Who’s that good looking lad sat next to you in the wine festival?
Roy Orbison’s grandson
I drove all night to get to that wine festival
Churr brev! Your round
More mountain biking please.
Watching your last video reminded me just how much I love & miss Bruges, as I’ve been there several times but not since about 2019. Miss it so much that I booked a ticket & will be going to Bruges in 2 weeks. Probably head down to Ghent as well. Looking very forward to a Zot 😎
What a great, great little place? Tasting beer at source is the best way. Let me know your thoughts when you next do it?
You can say that again!
This is my new favourite UA-cam channel
Next episode goes live Friday 15th September at 5pm GMT. Our trip to the Abbey of St. Sixtus to sample the legendary Westvleteren!
ZOT rules
I certainly won’t argue there, Sir!
Make sure you try the Moules Frites
100%! Next episode is out on Friday 15th September so make sure you offer some food pairing thoughts on the next beer!
Looking forward to the first episodes! Prost!
