Trends have infiltrated our clothing, bodies, homes, and language. This made me entertain a dark thought, do any of us have any unique interests? Do any of us have taste?

How Dan was Always Gossip Girl
Переглядів 125 тис.Місяць тому
It’s been almost 12 years since the final episode of the CW’s hit tv series Gossip Girl premiered. Unlike the majority of fans, I had no complaints on the show’s ending, even the reveal that the anonymous scandal blogger herself was Lonely Boy Dan Humphrey the whole time. After 11 years, many debates with friends, and NUMEROUS rewatches of the series I still hold the same opinion I had then tod...

Almost nothing that's trendy now looks good with the way i look! I always prefer fitted clothes i always prefer low rise i always prefer stronger colors and intense makeup, these always look the best on me and honestly that's also my taste as well so it's a double win! I never really gravitated towards baggy stuff * other than when i was a teenager in the 2010s * and the clean girl thing that's happening! When i do clean girl makeup my face LITERALLY looks naked? Im not clean girl "aesthetic" im a rat whore dirty cockroach disgusting club girl aesthetic lolll, im talking spiked hair scene bangs covering half my face black shit all over my eyelids top and bottom and pale lips and tight clothes! This simply looks the best on me!! And it fits my Saudi features the best! Imagine if i did the whole clean girl aesthetic and started wearing baggy shit with a sleek clean girl hair bun? I WOULD LOOK STUPID GRL LOLL

Dorota, Eric, Nate, Dan...I'm not satisfied with any of these choices, and I'm realising there's no one they could've picked in my eyes. I think they should have just left GG unknown

You have a unique perspective and an understanding in a sea of people who are doing this but are uninteresting. I’m subscribing because I want to see more of your knowledge of fashion. I was a shopaholic, a complete horder of fine leather goods and designer clothes. Now I just need to downsize and I sell on eBay and Poshmark. I use videos like this to see what’s trending and for pricing. It’s crazy. I’ve recently gotten a surge of buyers for my leather handbags of the 2010s. Gen Z has come into the age of consumerism and wants fashion that was trending 14 yrs ago. Crazy! 20 years ago we never saw anything repeat that fast.

Great video, loved the message and the execution. The repeating message to subscribe does not fit in at all though, a subtler font and size would serve you better I think.

Sad that all of this is catered only to women.. men don’t have “big influencers” or style trends, and if they do, they’re done for a long time and we don’t have “micro trends” Also staying off social media is the best way to find your style. Go out, look at clothes. Try them on. Don’t follow the “body type” trend. Buy things that make you happy

Dress how you love, not what the latest trend pushed by sadistic consulting firms and hedge funds say is "in style". Trends are pished way too fast now and i feel like jts all yo just trick us i to spending more money based on hyperreality "vibes" from digital dreams, instead of being inspired by real lived lifestyles irl.

As a goth ( with a very personal cultural twist on it) since 22 years now, it is always funny to see that some years, you are avant garde so fashion week inspiring, sometimes, you kind of blend in because everyone is wearing black, and others people look at you as if you were an outdated antique dusty halloween decoration.

goth for 24 years, here. you are absolutely correct. we truely have seen this a couple of times over the last 25 years. it goes hand in hand with this whole hatred/fetishization cycle we are exposed to, constantly. people either hate us or they fetishize us. now that the bigtiddygothgf has run her course, its back to being insulted and accused of being pet sacrificing satanists, and to being a halloween decoration

Awesome video. Loved your incite on Dan's character here. I personally loved the reveal of Dan as Gossip Girl & it makes perfect sense. We live our lives through narratives that we create for ourselves, what is narrative? Narrative is Gossip, our lives are gossip. You're no one until you're talked about. Dan literally wrote himself into the narrative itself, Dan the writer, the poet, ofc he was Gossip Girl all along.

although it makes sense for dan to be gossip girl. damian dalgaard and penelope could've been gossip girl too ngl. i think they have the motive and obsession too. tbh i never really wanted to know who gossip girl was so they could've let it open too.

I watched Gossip Girl season 1 and 2 religiously and it was my favourite show at the time. I just remember one thing that was quite confusing at the time - why would gossip girl spend so much time talking about Dan, even when it was irrelevant from all the other upper east side shenanigans? He is just a loser nobody that no one cares about. I stopped watching after season 3-4 at some point, but this question remains. I remember reading about the season finale, and people outraging that Gossip Girl is Dan. But I was so confused because standing from a distant point of view, out of all the characters, Dan being the gossip girl made the most sense - he literally wrote a tattletale book about the upper east side a la gossip girl style and it became a bestseller. And he is literally the only person in the series that know how to write an engaging story. And to think about it, it was gossip girl who also gave platform to Jenny for her rise. That was so sweet when you think about it, Dan was being harsh on Jenny on the outside for her behaviour, but in secret, Dan helped her to gain her popularity and made her who she is.

Sus disfraces necesitan sabor. I found out Renee is the same Kibbe type as Kamala Harris, if she ever wanted to look for inspo. Also thank Jesus for Christina Hendricks in regards to having wobbly bits and foundation garments. I found out that that the heart necklace has been around since the 70s.

I should say that the best ending is to not know who gossip girl is. The arcs in the books are slay and we never find out who gossip girl is (at least as far as I can remember), and yes they’re all good even the one where Dan thinks he’s gay for like 2 weeks

  • @marworld6833
    @marworld6833 16 днів тому

i think the biggest problem people have if that even if it makes sense and no one else could be goosip girl other than dan, the reveal just wasn't satisfying enough. to have such a big 'plotwist' come to light at the end of a series you need a buildup, to lay some clues even if they are way too subtle. the reaction this finale gives is more like a 'oh, ig it can make sense?... oh well', there wasn't enough speculation to have all the little hints come together in the audience's brain. but ig that's just imo, i do agree that dan being goosip girl isn't a bad ending, they just could've worked with the idea a lot better.

DAN BEING GOSSIP GIRL WILL NEVERRRR MAKE SENSE. Cause it obviously was not planned. It created hundreds of plot holes and makes NO sense. It makes NO sense for any of the main characters to be GG. It never should’ve been revealed or should’ve been planned from the start.
