      Thanks for the reply. I'll probably suck it up and import one when there's stock then - the bridge 4 looks pretty perfect for what I'm after. Andertons and Peach guitars are both doing pretty huge online sales In the UK and they've both set up deals with smaller builders in the past to get good products in the past. Probably depends on how much stock you can generate thb because at the price you're asking with the functions available you don't really have much competition as far as I can see. Cheers guys.

    Hi! Can't you use the Switch Out mode of the Flexiport to imitate a relay switch?

    • @PIRATEMIDI
      @PIRATEMIDI Місяць тому

      The Flexiport is more limited in its applications due to a limit on the voltage and current of the device it hooks up to. The CLiCK is kitted out with high-voltage relays which can interface with big old gear like footswitch channel switching jacks on many older amplifiers which would normally be incompatible with the Flexiport. For more details on the Flexiport limitations, please see the BRIDGE user manuals where there is a detailed section on compatibility for the Switch Out mode.

    • @P3ace_maker

      @@PIRATEMIDI Thank you for the reply! Here is a quote from the manual: "When set to ‘’Switch Out” mode, the Flexiport will act like an analog switch. This can be used to control functions on non-MIDI pedals that have a switch input like a tap tempo footswitch in or some other function." There is nothing in the text that mentions the limitations that you're referring to, neither does it specify the need to have an extra device (Click) to have it functioning. If I had known that it wouldn't work, I would perhaps opt for a different device or at least buy the Click and save on combined shipping. But now I am a bit disappointed, because the Bridge6 doesn't do what it says it should do in the manual. Now I will have to get the Click separately, and it is next to impossible to find one in Europe ( All I am saying is it should be communicated more clearly in the manual.

      @@P3ace_makerah my mistake - there is a warning section at the top of the flexiport chapter, not specifically at the switch out section. This can be found on page 21 (and across the page 22).

      The switch out function does not require a click. Only devices with higher voltage on their auxiliary jacks require a click. The details are in the manual as I said above 😊

    I am looking at buying a Pirate Midi to allow me to simultaneously switch the channels on a 5150III 50W (which has 5 pin midi) and a Ceriatone clone of a Friedman BH100 (which has a TRS latch style switch, as I understand it). I had understood that the Bridge 4 and 6 are advertised as being able to control channel switching on certain non-midi amps: "Switch inputs and outputs can be used to control your non-MIDI gear, like the auxilliary footswitch on a delay pedal, or the channel switching on many amplifiers." Is that right? Or do I need the CLiCK in addition to a Bridge 4 or 6? Thanks!

    • @PIRATEMIDI
      @PIRATEMIDI 2 місяці тому

      If the amp has MIDI, you don't need to worry about channel switching - that's all done over MIDI. However, if the amp isn't MIDI controlled, you need to check that voltage the switching jack is sending out. Plug a patch cable into it and use a multimeter to check the DC voltage on the cable. If it's above 3.3v, (5v or 9v+ etc) then the Flexiport on the BRIDGE can't do it, and the CLiCK is the answer. If it's 3.3v, then the BRIDGE can do the switching from the Flexiport. Cheers!

    Setting up a bridge to be on midi ch1 for me would be a bad idea potentially. Pretty much every midi pedal is on ch1 by default so to me it is way better to shift your solid pedals in the network away from ch1. leave it for guest pedals with a few basic banks to call up PC commands for that guest pedal and your commands to do control remotely will remain safe n sound. There are also plenty of apps out there and other gear that force you to use ch1 especially boss stuff for Sysex so yeah again best to plan well in advance the choice of channels or you end up paying for it down the road reprogramming everything again.

      Not usually, but some amps might be compatible - particularly very new models. However, if your amp doesn't meet the quite stringent voltage requirement for the footswitch jack, then our relay switching interface - CLiCK - is what you need

  • @silentguitarplayer6430
    @silentguitarplayer6430 4 місяці тому

    Thanks a lot for the video! And while technically it's not exactly a cross fade between the two effects, it's still a very nice feature that relies on Bridge OS' rich expression pedal control options. One just needs to bear in mind that in this scenario when you change the mix on the first effect in the chain (my educated guess is that Brig runs into the Cloudburst ;), you effectively change what you're feeding into the second effect in the chain. In other words, if you set the mix on Brig to, say, 70%, what it means is you're going to send into the Cloudburst 30 of the dry signal and 70% of the repeats. This is what you will reverberate by the Cloudburst algorithm, AND this is also what would be the "dry" signal for the Cloudburst. In order to make it work in a "true" crossfade mode, you need to either split the signal before both effects, feed them both with the duplicate dry signal, adjust the mix as described in the video, and then parallel-mix the output of both of these effects. Or, you can use a proper parallel mixer, such as GFI Diaphony or GigRig Wetter Box, and control the mix either via an expression pedal, or (in case of Duophony) via a ( Bridge:)) MIDI controller.

    • @roscius6204
      @roscius6204 4 місяці тому

      Correct, except that you will only arrive at a 50/50 mix in either direction because you have a parallel 100% dry and 100% wet at each end of the sweep. The only way to do this is to also have a midi capable pedal with volume in each path, or a stereo pan. Then set the desired end mix on the delay and reverb, this will give you a nicer blend in this scenario If you really want control a separate dry though and run wet dry wet in parallel

    • @silentguitarplayer6430
      @silentguitarplayer6430 4 місяці тому

      @@roscius6204 this is exactly what GFI Duophony (or maybe some other advanced parallel mixers) allows you to do. You can control the balance of fully wet parallel signals, and you have a separate control over the dry signal level in each of the channels.

      @@silentguitarplayer6430 I did look at those. I felt like whilst really good at a specific task, it fell into the $500 one trick pony for my needs, mostly because you are choosing the pedals to mix and are stuck with that configuration, at least that was my take on it. Great if that's what your after, like your Delay//Reverb example. I still use a simple old LS2 in 1 loop to blend a Klone > Argo with a Tim > SD1 into an ODR1...🙄I know.. For Stereo parallels I like the standard series/parallel option for delay and reverb but I also like to add specific FX into those paths, for example a filter into or after the delay with the core tone and mods into the reverb in parallel........ current favorite. I can Expression or LFO pan this too (great with tremolo) and or use the Boost in the TimeLine and BigSky I use an ML10X in the FX loop of my PreAmp which is in the parallel loop of an ES8 All my stereo rack and pedal FX are in the ML10X. Boosts Comps Fuzz and ODs are in the other ES8 loops. There's certainly scope for a better loop/mixer in the market. There's limitations with ML10X (no level control) and the Switchblade is horrifically pricey. Something Stereo with Level and Pan that preferably could be implemented multiple times in the chain. Hope this isn't too much information. I love that there's an Aus company going down this rabbit hole.🤗🤗

    • @silentguitarplayer6430
      @silentguitarplayer6430 4 місяці тому

      @@roscius6204 No worries, this is a perfect amount of info to my taste ) I can see your point, and I can see where you're going. This is exactly what bothered me as well, when I got GFI Duophony at first - the fact that you're kind of stuck with two parallel-mixed chains (yes, you've read it right - chains, not pedals, because you can put several pedals in series (or even in parallel!!!) in each of the two Duophony loops, and have all the fun in the world with them ) But I also got myself an ML10X exactly for this purpose - to make the Duophony loops more flexible. The way I have it set up now is that one of Duophony's loops has the entire ML10X in it. So I have several pedals in series in Duophony's loop A, and the ML10X with a bunch of other effects in Loop B. So for loop B I have an option to bring in an endless amoun of sound variations from pedals in ML10X loops, and then mix/blend/serialize with what I have in the Loop A to my taste. It's not perfect on paper, but I have yet to try enough combinations to think that I need anything more :)))

Love the sounds of this reverb and its small footprint, but made me want to break a window when I realized you couldn’t “tweak and save” easily like 98% of preset reverb pedals lol. If you need to adjust a preset on the fly live Without MIDI, you have to go back to live mode and change all your parameters to meet the preset, then tweak, then save. Maybe version 4 will let you adjust preset parameters on the fly without spending $300 on a midi switch, fingers crossed lol.

    I'm a software engineer with 15 years of professional experience and I coded since I was a child. And I struggle with MIDI. Not because it's too complex to comprehend, but because it sucks so badly. It's a bunch of legacy stuff that doesn't do what you expect. Oh, your looper supports MIDI clock? You can then time perfectly when to start and stop the loop. Wrong, because the MIDI clock has zero information on where a measure starts or how long it is. It only knows the time in between two beats. And then every pedal has its own definition of what means what, let alone that many are a pain to program. Loop switchers often can only send one command at a time unless you spend 100s of dollars. Wanna switch on the delay for the solo? My Plethora X5 requires that you know which bank you are in because you need to know which slot the delay is in. Just customize the protocol for each bank? They didn't bother to add that option.

    Is the Bridge4/Bridge6 able to save presets to access the Cloudburst power up modes like spillover and dry kill on the fly?

    • @PIRATEMIDI
      @PIRATEMIDI 6 місяців тому

      Unfortunately the Cloudburst does not have the ability to set those externally. They can only be changed on power-up with the onboard controls.

    Seriously considering buying bridge 6. Confused how the setlist is created or edited. Is it also in the pc editor.

    • @PIRATEMIDI
      @PIRATEMIDI 6 місяців тому

      Hi Shane, the setlist feaure in this video is not yet finished. This was an early preview. The editor support for the setlist feature will be finished soon, but is not currently fully functional or editable. There is a UI onboard the device which is still accessible, but we're planning to disable that for the v2.0 full release which will be ready to go in the next couple of weeks. The setlist feature will be finished off with a high priority as a post 2.0 release update :)

    Hey Pirate Midi Team, I think about purchasing one of your controlers for my HX Stomp, quick question on the flexiports: Can I just use any two button TRS Footswitch as additional switches? Thanks for the explanation videos

    Hey friends, you can download this bank template for your BRIDGE4 or your BRIDGE6 at our Discord server: discord.com/channels/1026256363174764647/1230465616222359606 If you haven't joined the server yet, there's a link in the video description! (then come back here to use this link)

    Great practical explanation video, those types of videos are extremely useful, given how complex and multi-faceted Bridge controllers are. Keep'm coming! A quick question: is it possible to tell Bridge via Sequential switch to ask the Expression pedal to send two or more of the Bank messages from that stack?

    • @PIRATEMIDI
      @PIRATEMIDI 7 місяців тому

      No, sorry. Currently you can either let it send all of them, or one at a time.

    That's really useful, thanks! I'll try to set up something similar with my El Capistan. Just one question: On the first button where it says "Mix" and in the next line it says "> PreDelay" (your next step) - where do you set that in the editor? Edit: I just realized that this is one of the global device ui modes and that I am using the other one where this is not possible.

    • @PIRATEMIDI
      @PIRATEMIDI 7 місяців тому

      Yeah that's correct. The UI modes are "Extended" or "Simple" with Simple UI mode removing some information for a cleaner and easier to read interface.

    Just one is not enough. You guys need to make a version that has multiple outputs for multiple devices. I would also recommend a USB hub just for pedals that has a 9 V supply. Nobody’s making that.

    • @Lavabug
      @Lavabug 7 місяців тому

      There's plenty of those available. RJM Amp Gizmo. NUX PMS-2. Nobels MS-4. There are a few more.

    • @joshuakincheloe

      @@Lavabug as far as I know, the best one is made by disaster area. That one covers the full spectrum with multiple outputs. Having just one knowing that people probably have more than one pedal that needs tap tempo takes up a port for one that could be for many. I have yet to see a guitar pedal board oriented USB hub though from anyone.
