The succesfull projects are usually from people who already can fly a heli and then build their own, usually from a proved design. If you design your own heli from scratch without any experience and then also need to teach yourself how to fly on it, that's a guaranteed accident.

Kudos to the Japanese who built the co axial copter. Did he borrow the idea from nasa's mars copter (ingenuity) or nasa borrowed the idea from him. One of yhem should file a payent right infringement suit!

Paraglider solution? I'm a pilot of 25 years. In 2010 I made10-20 flights on my prototype flapping paraglider. Via pulleys etc I inputted force to heave(quads), AOA(calfs) Camber(arms) P&S independent actions provided for steering of typical paragliding, The setup just added more specific airfoil control and power. I found way too much energy loss in pulleys. And failed to have parameters for success. And the mystery of mentally (should lead to intuitive) sequencing the motions was beyond me. Since then without all the muscle additions I have been manipulating camber AOA and fooling with swooping flight. Paragliderd and drag reduction have advanced so much since 2010. Actively flapping a Paraglider is worth another try, I'm looking for a collaborating pilots and a global forum.

As a hand glider and paragliding pilot I be willing to bet To add a e motor to the this human powered flight project. This will take us much higher and further. It would be still human powered is it not ? what's is holding us back to just add the e motor like my e bike ???

I saw a documentary (maybe during the nineties) where they showed the developement of a bicycle-airplane. A woman was training on this plane, checking the design, adjustments etc. The day of the show, a man drived the plane. I was thinking: why another person? Why not keeping the one who did the tests? Does anybody remember this documentary?
