Practicing with my Walther PDP Full Size 5 inch @Waltherarms
Переглядів 97Місяць тому
Got to spend some much needed practice time with my Walther PDP to put to the test what I’ve been working in during dry fire. This video is of my zeroing my optic and trying to see how my dot is tracking in the window. Testing and working on my grip so that the dot predictably tracks and returns to target.

Disappointing interaction with a LEO

Just a video of me talking. I wanted to share a story of a rather disappointing “interaction” I had with a sheriffs deputy today. In one sense, it’s not a big deal. But in another sense, it kinda is. It has to do with attitude, ego and poor communication skills with the public. I’m NOT bashing law enforcement officers at all. I respect the tough and too often dangerous job they have to do every...

    No comments? Well…this video is actually quite useful as your exact gun is on my shortlist (or short list…two words?) for a full size 9mm. How well does it shoot? I am a M&P guy…yet 100% love Walther. My carry gun for 20 years was the original PPS in 9mm. I even used it in IDPA and smoked guys with full size guns. Nice video…and 50 extra points for Florida.

      @@jimbodrums12 Thanks for stopping in and commenting. To be fair, I just started my channel and only have a handful of subscribers (of which I am grateful for every one of them). I started making videos for my friends that had any questions or wanted to know something about the start of my carry journey that I could give them a link to. So I never really expected lot’s of comments and views. More of a hobby than anything. Anyway, I love the PDP. For me, it is very comfortable in my hands and has a real natural point of aim feel to it if that makes any sense. I heard people say it was very ergonomic so I took a chance and ordered one without ever shooting one. I wasn’t disappointed! I actually bought 2. One for irons and one for the optic. Both are full size 5 inch. I’ve heard people say that they are snappy to shoot. It might be a little bit compared to some others, but it doesn’t bother me. I’ve been really concentrating on just getting good connection with my grip. I don’t try to “control” muzzle rise anymore. I just let it do what it does and it returns to target very fast for me. I am definitely shooting it flatter now than when I first started shooting it.

    I carry the 4.5 inch full size PDP. But I have a light so do they make one that holds the my PDP and the light?

    • @CitizenCarrier
      @CitizenCarrier 2 дні тому

      @@Southernone They sure do! They make an Axis Elite like mine for the 4.5 inch which this actually is. And you can have the option to have it molded for a Streamlight TLR-1, a TLR-7 or a TLR-7 X. You can also choose an MSP Pro series or MSP Pro series FLX which is a sidecar holster like this one. As long as you use one of the lights listed on the drop down list, it will fit multiple different guns if you have more than one and it’s on the list of recommended pistols. A lot of different guns will fit in that holster.

    Good work. I agree with the idea of Natural rights. I don't think that God gave me a right to speedy trial, for example. They were spelling out some fundamental human rights, which shared a lot with the English Bill of rights of 1689. They were saying we think this stuff is important and we want to right it down. I think it's also worth remembering that many didn't want a bill of rights, the Federalist, like James Madison were against it. He of course, relented as we now have it.

    • @CitizenCarrier
      @CitizenCarrier 6 днів тому

      @@CarryTrainer Very cool! Thank you for visiting my video! I see what you mean about God not giving us the right to a speedy trial and other rights in the BOR. And natural rights may be a more accurate explanation of the founders thought process from the great philosophers of history they obviously studied at length that formed their views. Sometimes as a man of faith, I will say “God given rights” when talking about being a protector because even in the Bible, it talks about being a protector and “the sword”, etc. But that’s a whole different conversation. I rarely bring that up in discussion one on one because I know not everyone has the same beliefs as me. And yes, I remember learning about James Madison not keen on the idea of a bill of rights. Which is amazing considering how thorough and eloquently he wrote it. I really enjoyed your video on the second amendment! May I put a link in my description to it?

    No one is worrying if clips print brotha

    • @CitizenCarrier
      @CitizenCarrier Місяць тому

      @@dtps_champion6016 Can’t disagree with you there. But I have actually heard people say that the metal clips print less than the plastic clips. Now, MAYBE the metal clips may hold the holster in tighter to you, therefore pulling the grip in more. But I think that’s a big maybe. Because even with the stock plastic clips, I get virtually no printing of any part of the rig. It might be a little controversial to say, but I think some get a little too excited about “printing” if even the slightest bump may show. It just looks like a fold in the shirt at most. In my limited experience so far, your average person in the grocery store or on the street just aren’t paying that close attention to your belt line.

    • @CitizenCarrier
      @CitizenCarrier 2 місяці тому

      @@charles17508 I guess it just really comes down to we’re all built a bit different and what works for one, doesn’t work for another. I have a T Rex sidecar. I should say had, I sold it to a buddy for his Walther PDP. It was a little more expensive than the Tier 1 and for me, the claw was totally inadequate and didn’t hide the grip as well as the Tier 1. Again, it comes down to the fact we are all built a little differently. As you can see when I put it on, the Tier 1 doesn’t print at all and bulky? I carry a full size gun anyway. So a little “bulk” doesn’t bother me a bit. A shill is someone that pushes someone’s product because they are given a product to sell for them. I buy all my stuff.

      I’ve only had this holster for a little under three months now. It’s my first tier 1 holster so I can’t speak to if they’ve changed for the PDP or not. It’s pretty recent so if they did change it, this must be it. And in my opinion, it’s awesome! I know they did some changes to their axis elite line such as the claw and clip design. They call the newer design the EZ Adjust system. But I believe that’s across the whole Axis Elite line.

    Anyone watching this considering one, do yourself a favor and order the DCC clips. Game changer. Also add the wedge pack and customize it to yourself. You get this dialed in, you’ll carry a LOT more comfortable than you would ever imagine. They’re also an incredible company customer service wise.

    • @CitizenCarrier
      @CitizenCarrier 2 місяці тому

      The DCC clips are excellent. I have them on other holsters. I just wanted to try these out because they are a little bit easier to get on and off. It’s still conceals extremely well but the DCC clips definitely have a lower profile. Since this video I did order the correct wedge for it and the comfort and concealability of this holster is supreme. It makes carrying a full-size gun like this a breeze. And you are correct about the customer service. Like I said in the video, they actually called me about any concerns I may have with the way they had to make this holster since they didn’t make one for the full size 5 inch, but only the 4 1/2 inch. Not to mention they have a lifetime warranty.

      @@libertyor556 That’s their Hunter Constantine collaboration belt, right? That will probably be next on my list. A bit pricey but if it!s as good as all the reviews I’ve see. it is well worth it. I’m pushing 60 and have noticed some lower back issues popping up and feel some discomfort after having my rig on for 10 hours or more a day. I don’t like it. I have one, it’s neither comfortable or concealable (seriously excessive printing, and jabs my pelvic bone something terrible!)

    • @CitizenCarrier
      @CitizenCarrier 4 місяці тому

      @garytucholl7699 Thank for commenting! Just like anything, gear is definitely not one size fits all. What works great for some, may not work for another. I have quite a few different holsters for this pistol and the T1C works great for me. That’s why at the end I wanted to show me wearing it to show it doesn’t print on me. And as far as comfort goes, I mean, I have a full size gun that is bulky just by the nature of how it’s built alongwith a Kydex holster stuffed in my pants. So of course I’m going to know it’s there. But certainly not cumbersome. I do have to lift my pants waist up a little when I sit to keep it from jabbing. It took a little getting used to. But again, it is a long slide 5 inch barrel. I also really like my C&G holster called the Covert Alpha. It doesn’t have the mag carrier and I use that one when I don’t feel like having the extra mag.

    • @christopherreeves7915
      @christopherreeves7915 2 місяці тому

      I agree they are not one size fits all. I own two Axis slims and one axis elite and sometimes you have to tweak them adjusting the ride height adding wedges etc until dial it in.

    • @CitizenCarrier
      @CitizenCarrier 2 місяці тому

      @@christopherreeves7915 Absolutely! You definitely have to tweak them to fit you how you like. That’s why I like this holster so much. There’s so much adjustability between the clips, claw and wedge positioning. I didn’t know if I would like the sidecar design because it seemed like a lot of plastic upfront along with the gun. But the way it formed around me after I got it tweaked, it was surprisingly comfortable.
