Great job brother! Keep ‘em coming. 👍🏻
For being new at it you did a fantastic job. I actually learned more form yours than many of the others out there. I do have a question. I have the identical kayak and year as you have. I find that in the hot sun especially, the cheap plastic slot tends to stretch and bend to allow any kind of mount, be it a rod holder or camera mount or in this case the mount for the fish finder to eventually just loosen up and fall out. I have lost two rods and rod holders already. Has this been a problem and if so what can you recommend? Thanks
Still have your hoyt powermax? I bought the same bow in 2017 around November. Have taken several deer, including a 6 point, a rabbit, and a wild hog. Out of AR. Just replaced the strings on it this year, bow still shoots like new. Can't complain good Lil bow gets the job done. 👌
Great video! Super helpful
I used to own a dog that looked exactly the same and her name was trigger. this was over 10 years ago and i had to give her up after I was in Hawaii and my dad passed away while taking care of her.... if this IS her i am glad she got a good home!!! if not i love your video (i will sub for u)...we now have another shephard and we skate every day ... (if you have a longboard it makes a HUGE difference :))
This Trigger has been with us since he was 8 weeks old. Great dog that turns 9 in a few days. We don't skate much these days, he's too busy looking after kiddos! Thanks!
Nice job and a gentleman as well.
Thanks, Ken!
This is an awesome video man. I appreciate it. Would you recommend the lithium batteries now? I can’t decide if they’re worth the money or not.
Thanks for watching! I haven't done much research on the Li batteries so I can't say I'd recommend it or not. I'll tell you I'm a fan of always tinkering with stuff, try it and see if it works for you!
It's 2023 now, your review really holds up, I like the way you focused on what you liked and didn't like about the outback instead of the bow to stern walkthrough that has been done already. Thanks for your insights, I ordered mine last week for my retirement present.
Interesting next dog
I have watched other videos and quite often the speaker seems to think he needs to tell you what he is going to do. Never mind telling me what you’re going to do do it. I enjoyed this video it was very helpful. Other people could follow your example. Well done.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad it helped.
wonderful job!!!!!!!!
So you mount the transducer inside? Does it affect the readings?
Yep, the transducer sits protected inside the hull. It doesn't affect readings as long as it sits parallel to the plate. Pretty slick design!
Hi. Just get my FF. 3 years after. The videis is simply excellent. Keep it up really helpful
Glad I could help!
Awwww, my German shepherd laid down. Ready
Good video thanks! Only pointers would be possibly watch camera angles when your hands are blocking what you're doing, move the camera or use a head strap or something, and avoid the vertical videos, otherwise great video, very helpful, thanks!
Thanks for the feedback!
Fun times just living the dream.
That's the motto! LTD!
Great video. Thank you very much for helping us out!
My chihuahua mix can go faster then that
Why is he so slow
He is pulling a human qith him what do u think? 😭😹😹😹 thw doggy is just having fun not necessarily going fast
@@spinnyuwu3158 ok my chihuahua is faster then that
@@spinnyuwu3158 and obviously
Probably beacuse it's well trained and seasoned to go in a specific speed. Most dogs would just run the crap out of themselves.
@@sarahhavillamelooliveira5825 my dog is well trained in skatejore and is even smallest then him and goes faster his dog is just slow
Greetings from Australia mate. Have been looking at these, I’m similar size to you. Excellent honest real world review so it’s much appreciated.
Thanks for watching, my friend. I think you'll enjoy the '19 outback! Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
Where did you mount your battery ?
I mounted the battery in the bow hatch using a Hobie Battery Holder attached to the front sail mount post..thingy.
Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for.
I was gonna have the shop install my FF but this video will save me a lot of $ and I'm gonna do it myself. Thank you.
I'm glad to hear the video saved you some money!
Thank you the instructions.
Thanks for the details and closeup shots of this process. I feel it's the most thorough video on youtube regarding the installation of a fish finder / Transducer. Excellent Job!!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Nice video! Well done.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I go catch bonita and shark fish at night .. man its awesome there ..
chad smith yes it is! I never did have any luck catching sharks tho..
Great review! I am 6’1” and 275. I noticed that the kickstands for the seats sit on the plastic. Do you think that will break the hull wear it sits with my weight? Have you noticed any damage from you sitting? Also, I notice it has 2 brass inserts below the seat; do you know what they are for? I was wondering if it was for a protective piece that screws in to protect the hull from the kickstands on the seats. Anyway, keep up the great videos!
James H. Jones Hobies are made to be tanks, I would have no worries about any major components breaking under normal circumstances. I ended up moving and stopped kayak fishing so I’ve since sold the Outback so I’m not sure what the brass inserts are. I’ve seen fellas bigger and heavier than 6’1”, 275 in a Hobie and they were loving life. I don’t think you’ll regret it. Thanks for watching!
I'm guessing you are in Pensacola area?
Great video. Thank you!
We wear drysuits kayaking in the ocean here in WA even if the air temp is in the 90's.
I do the same thing with my 4 month old German Shepard but a lot shorter distance
But let the dog pee at least once.. poor little guy Lol but very cool tho ❤️
Oh don't worry, he took a big steamer right before this video! I didn't feel that part was suitable for this video lol
Thanks so much! Excellent video and VERY helpful!
Excellent video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

Nice, clear explanation. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you sir! Well done! Can't wait to do my install this weekend.
M. Sean Willingham I’m glad this video helped!
Could you give some information on the battery mount? Can you keep the front hatch bin in the kayak with the battery down there. There seems to be a mount that you put inside the kayak correct?
Brady Nichols yep I just used the Hobie battery holder that secures to the mast receiver inside the front hatch. I didn’t have the front hatch bin in my kayak but if you mount the battery low enough, I believe you can still have the front vin inside the hatch. I just used a big dry bag.
I understood you well. I’m getting ready to install a fish finder in a K Pro Angler 14. Your instruction is greatly appreciated.
E. Caban Jr thanks for watching!

Fishing America thank you!
Awesome video! 👍👍
Why do you not want the transducer touching the plate?
If your transducer is touching your plate, the vibration could trigger false readings
