Apart from the criticism of the SS as to why they didn't neutralise the shooter with supposedly 20 minutes advance notice, it's amazing to me - however much it would have meant that Trump's fans wouldn't have got their fist-pumping moment - how the bodyguards allow Trump to get his shoes ("Sir, that's really not important") and don't immediately bundle him off the stage to the relative safety of the car. The fact that they allow him to be so exposed to maybe another potential shot leaves me bewildered as, however much their minds might have been scrambled in that moment, surely that's just plain old common sense? Isn't it? Anybody with half a brain would instinctively do that, wouldn't they? I know they're human like the rest of us but don’t they train for this moment? Muscle memory kicks in and all that. They're drilled to the nth degree.
