Was able to snag one of the Onix Lumi B580's that were briefly in stock on Newegg for $269. Only model I see in stock now that is I guess not too outrageous of a price and at least is a 3 fan card is the SPARKLE B580 TITAN OC for $300. If anyone one wanted one I'd probably grab it now as its been in and out of stock and no telling how quick it gets scalped!

Its been since release. What doesnt make sense is you can buy far better cards for brand new, less than what the scalped prices are.

I upgraded from a 6700 XT to a 4070 for $500. I still plan on selling my 6700 XT for maybe 200-250 so I got an upgrade for about $300 which I think is fair since I had the 6700 XT for 3 years

It's best just to wait if you are buying. People are desperate because there will always be demand. People's cards break. Or they are upgrading for a specific reason. Most gamers dont need to upgrade that bad. If you can play the games you want to. Just keep what you have. Probably the market will be flooded soon with rtx 5000 cards so you might as well wait. It would definitely be a gamble to sell your old card without a backup though.

I didn't buy any 4000 series cards! I'm still trying to buy up refurbed 3090 / 3080 and there is still some stock of 3060 12gb out there which needs to drop below $250, I'm still seeing the 3060 12gb at $270 to $300 at most outlets. Also the 4060 / ti is garbage and always in stock, and the 4070 / 4080 / 4090 are going to take some time to go down in price even at refurbed / used prices, maybe a year or two? What if Nvidia took three years to come out with 6000 series? Keep in mind Intel Arc GPUs are getting more powerful, Celestial and Druid are in the pipeline, and there will be High-End Arc cards on the market in the years ahead (2026 - 2028). Head on a swivel.

Where are they selling them? Because you take a big risk selling online. Sellers have little to no protection, besides shipping insurance, which can always be denied if the insurer thinks the item was damaged after opening

And if you FOMO sold your 4090 then you learned nothing from a few years back. I sold my 4090 a while back and pocked 400 in profit. I ended up landing a 7900XTX TUF for $475 and thats been serving me well.

If a 40 series is costing more even now, that's a stupid buy worse then buying a 50 series at 2x the price of msrp.

Just bought a prebuilt specifically to get a 4090 at a reasonable cost. It’s clear the 5080 isn’t bad but not great either, the 5090 will be scalped to hell for a year or more. Add to that the reassure this release has had on remaining 4000-series inventory, I think it’s the best move and skip the 5-series altogether.

Two days ago, I sold my 1.5-year-old 4080 Aero for the MSRP of the 5080, and I was lucky to buy the 5080 (MSI Ventus OC Plus) for only $200 over its MSRP. 😎 I know it may sound like a questionable upgrade performance-wise, but I'm switching my entire build to an SFF setup in the FormD T1 case. The 5080 is only slightly more powerful, but it's almost half the size of my old 4080 Aero and fits my new case perfectly 😊 (I'm from Poland, and prices and availability are a bit different here than in the US)

I'm picking up my 5080 in 6 hours when BB opens. Ironically, I'm upgrading from the 3080 FE to 5080 FE. I plan to sell my 3080 asap before used prices fall.

Got my 4080 super for $800 plus a 850w corsair psu on fb marketplace. Upgraded from a 3070 and the performance increase is worth way more than the cash. I don't plan on upgrading for a very long time.

What's suggesting is going to make the downgrade units more expensive as well. Unfortunately for me, I'm using a 3070 so its not an option.

FOMO price bump. Just wait awhile unless you really need a GPU. I am not downgrading from my 4070 TI but I do agree with the video. While 5090's will be elusive for at least all of 2025 the 5080's should become more available in the coming months. I might still skip it though.

At a 3080 ti and I can wait. It can handle practically everything I throw at it anyway. Only real benefit is with some AI in my eyes. Eventually the market will adjust.

I have been waiting for the new cards for 6 months expecting them to be a nice improvement. However, after the reviews of the 5080 and the fact that the shops are selling them for 1850 - 2200 euro (incl tax), I just got myself a 7900 XTX for 913 euro (incl tax). With nice undervault it performs like hell and comes close in performance for 1000 less.

I could tell difference between two just off the fps. First one def showed a lower fps but visual wise it’s pretty similar
