AUTOCROSS AT CROWS LANDING - 2nd Place run
This was an Autocross Event at Crows Landing, CA
Almost 130 cars running. It was hot, but I had a blast.
My car is hooked up with lots of #carbonfiber parts from #agmotorsports. I am running their canards, 5VM splitter. z06 skirts, mirror covers and winglet
Those GS1R Forgeline wheels look great and are tough enough to hold up to extreme conditions and heat
#rpmrollbars is keeping things safe inside.

Hey, your video helped me back then to buy my C6 corvette! Can you please share your thoughts about your new C8 for those who are on the fence regarding buying one over the C6? Do you miss your manual transmission and the lighter weight? My impressions so far that the C8 is heavy, and much less communicative.. but yet, I see how much you enjoy racing it.
@@idan.gold.cars573 Gosh there is so much to say about the C8. I have had mine now for nearly 3 1/2 years. I’ve raced it at numerous tracks so I have a lot to share. It is a lot of performance for the money, but I may have to put out a new video “3 Years with my C8!!! if you want to see my current car, go to C8racer on Instagram and you’ll see lots of videos.
So putting a Cam will make it fail emissions inspections? 10-4. Can't do it
Thanks!
Nice 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
3:27 - That's not a Corvette specific problem. That advice goes for any car you don't use as a daily driver.
You ever go out to Crows Landing?
Nice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very nice 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
what suction mount?
Thanks for all the C6 info you have been willing to share. I am new to the C6. Your channel and your presentation style was perfect for me.
Great informative video about mods for the C6 👍
Great video!
Yoooo I just saw your car in Cali yesterday!
So if a c6 came with 18/19 originally then stay with that or go 19/20 wheels/tires???
It really depends on what you want to use the car for. If you are interested in going to the track, the 18 and 19 tire combo offers a lot more tire choices. If you’re just going to drive it on the street, and want to fill up that wheel well, 19/20 would be fine
just watched the whole clip. Purchasing my first 2012 C6 end of the month and this helped me get some notes down and get an idea of what i wanna do with it. Beautiful car! Great video!
Thank you for the kind words and congratulations on buying a Corvette. They are great cars and they’re pretty reliable
Youre a great speaker, you should be an instructor 👍
Thank you.
wow, very good advice. I feel like he knows what he's talking about
Very good informational video
I'm assuming stock corvettes with no mods, and you take it out once every week or two... no need for a battery tender
Yeah. Should be fine for a week or two. After that, it gets iffy. Lol
C8 corvettes suck there ugly and not for me I’d rather have a 1967 ford fast back mustang like in the movie fast and furious Tokyo drift it’s green and with white stripes and a 2JZ with a turbo
Hey guys so i got a c6 base manual corvette. I only been to 1 hpde event so im still a beginner but i was wondering if the firehawk indy500 tire was any good to run for my application? Im looking for a grippier tire that can still be streetable and not cost me 300-400$ per tire because im still learning how to drive the car fast around the track. Any thoughts/ suggestions?
Very thorough video. Great job 🤙 might be my next car 👀
great video. but you didn't talked much about maintenance or about ugly stuff you focused especially on mods and what to do with the car for specific use. not that much about what is like to own the car what are the main issues (you did mention a problem with the engine) but other than that you mentioned nothing that's why i'm wondering. in the headline picture you mentioned "the good the bad and the ugly" but you didn't mention the ugly part nor the bad part you mentioned that as a stock vehicle it's not great for performance (like usage of autocross and track) same with tires. would like you to enlighten me. as well you rarely mentioned day to day maintenance and care for the car
hey what camera system is that that have your speed and everything? or if it's separated what cam do you use and what is the software name?
Now you say you have the LS2. The LS3 engine had a better engine than the LS2 even the Engineers say so. The LS3 engine is FAR BETTER THAN THE LS2. As far longevity. Tell me anything different. I wouldn't track my car if i bought one during the 2010-2012 years.
The LS3 made more power but I can’t speak about reliability as I never owned one. The LS2 came with the car and never gave me any issues. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. Jason
dude that spoiler is so ugly i couldnt even watch this
It wasnt for everyone. Just for Autocross in the CAMS Class. Thank you.
"Promo sm" 👀
The driver and the Corvette did what they do best.
Amazing! Great job!
+ 50 for the assist
Good video, especially the part about the battery tender. My stored C6’s battery tender was accidentally unplugged, the battery met a slow tragic end, and so did the very expensive ECM.
I am glad you enjoyed it.
Caution: If you're gonna' autocross your car, read the SCCA rule book before you blindly follow some of this advice. For example, as he says, coil overs no doubt make an improvement. But if that's all you do, your C-6 will no longer be in "street" class. Street class allows you to change shocks, but not springs. So since the car didn't come with coil over shocks as OEM, you will bump up several classes to CAM-S or Prepared class if you eliminate the leaf springs and replace them with coil springs. HINT: CAM-S class allows all sorts of expensive mods and building a competitive car to the limits of the SCCA class rules won't be cheap. Coil-overs alone won't cut it because you'll be competing with guys who have LOTS of other performance changes (like the car in this video) and you'll be left in the dust. Likewise, just using a wider wheel will bump you up a class and the performance gain from larger tires alone will leave you at a competitive disadvantage relative to the guys in the higher classes who equip their cars to the limit of the rules. Street class lets you change the diameter by one inch, but you must use stock width wheels. Even at the local level, most guys equip their cars to the limit of the class rules, or close too it. I'd love to go with coil overs on my C-6, but since I want to remain in B Street class, I'm not going to do it and I'll stick with conventional shocks, sticky tires on stock wheel widths, and changing only one of my sway bars. I do registration duty at my local SCCA events and many first timers are shocked to learn that their lightly modified car will be competing two or three classes higher that it should be just because they've done something like add a non functional wing for styling purposes. So read the rule book first and either stay within class rules suited to your pocketbook and level of intensity or be prepared to be at a significant disadvantage by changing something which really doesn't help all that much but which bumps you up a class or two. Even the "sleepy eye" headlight mod for the C-5 will bump you out of street class because the intermediate position is not available from an unmodified factory switch. Doesn't seem quite fair, but thems the rules.
Yep. I was running in CAM-S. I ran across a C5 in STU. Have not seen a Corvette in that class before. My New C8 can run in SS with stock wheels or XS with my wider wheela and tires.
Thank you thank you thank you!!
Very cool video. I'm head to pickup a 2011 this weekend. It's pretty stock, except for a supercharger.
That is sweet. LS3 car. Enjoy

@@GG-bl2vm I have a C8 now and drive mine from New Jersey to CA. What a trip.
Great video. Concise and informative. Solid.
A battery should not go dead in a week or 2 you have a bigger issue.
How did you get the car smogged with the cam, headers, and upgrades you did to the motor ? I just finished up with the cam, heads, intake, and long tube headers. Hopefully I don’t have to tear everything back down to smog it.
Move.
I found a great smog guy !
If you were interested in knowing. The guy who stole it was arrested in less then 5 minutes. Just so happened a police officer was at a stop light a few feet down the road.
Really great video 👍 Do you have any experience with EBC yellow stuff or Power Stop pads?
I have a 2009 corvette changed pads have no fluid in rears brakes locked up any ideas
Awesome !!!
Great sound ❤❤
Makeup
Any idea why GM decided to go with staggered height wheels front to back? Ford did the same on some of the GT500s. I’ve always wondered if this was for aesthetics or served some sort of functional purpose.
Because these cars have no traction the rears are larger so you grip the road and don’t go flying
That's a lie and you have no idea what you're talking about. He's talking wheel diameter. Smaller rear wheels would have more traction as the tires would have a larger side wall. @@marcjabra1637
Great vid, thank you!
Bro what camera quality is that haha
I feel like they should have fixed the battery issue. Cars now have a ton of electronics and you can let it sit for a whole month and the battery will be fine. But a corvette. Nope. After 4 days you might need to charge the whole battery.
Nice one. You should try out left foot braking; it's super beneficial in autocross.
idk know there was high temp non foaming power steering fluid, ill have to get that. quite a dif between Dot 3 boil 203F and motul 660 that boils at 617F
Def. On the track, you really need to pay attention to your fluids. Engine oil, ps fluid and brake fluid.
I was waiting for you to explain that huge spoiler in the back, it never happened 😼🇺🇸 Nice car man
