@@FullFinnoy I spotted the accent by your first sentence. You can actually make a lot of day trips outside Copenhagen by train or busses. A trip to other Islands might take about 2-3 hours for instance Fyn. One of our most beautifull museums for modern art is Louisiana is near by also the old dutch village Dragør is on the Amager Island in the surbubs. The dutch was invited to grow vegs for the king and copenhagen on this island. If you want to go to the second biggest city Århus there is a lot to see f.i. the old town museum and a a big museum of modern art.

You are absolutely correct. Probably all the capital areas rake high prices from services and goods. We love to cook and the best that comes out of travel are the ideas and concepts trying to replicate later the experiences and tastes, so perhaps that evens it out atleast for us in a way.

@@FullFinnoy I recommend Hillerød as mention in another comment to see the Castle and the garden 45 min train ride from Cph. , Helsinør to see Kronborg the city is also lovely to walk around here (there is more to see inside Frederiksborg casle in Hillerød though but I still think Kronborg is worth it and the city of Helsinør) 55 min train from Cph. you can also combine the trip to Helsinør with a visit to Louisiana modern art Museum , Roskilde to see the Viking museum and the Cathedral where more than 40 Kings and queens are buried , it's also a nice city 25 min train from Cph. , for a longer trip if you want to see beautiful nature Møns klint 2 hours 30 min train and bus from Cph it is however an expensive trip from around 500 dkk , inside Cph you can also go to Frederiksberg have , Christians havn an old part of the city , the art mseum Statens museum for kunst and the National museum and I'm sure you know Tivoli

But as now soon to be a 77 year old Public Pensioner, I know I was indeed lucky to have been born in the absolute "Buttercup" of the world! I could as well have been born in Yemen, or in the US! My similar age wife and I have collected a decent fortune in Shares and Bonds, a nice luxury car, a small home with a minor garden for me to take care of, and among the finest care systems for old people in the world. Mostly everything functions well in Denmark, in spite of complaints! We also pay the Highest Taxes in the world, but this is why we have all those things that people in other countries have to pay for as Insurances, which hardly never - covers what you actually need from them. If becoming ill, no matter the reason, you are taken to a Hospital which is paid for. No bill after. Or you may visit a Doctor, no bill after. Finn
