    • @ProjectComplete
      @ProjectComplete Місяць тому

      Normally I’d agree but you don’t really push on the blade. About a 1/2inch of the blade is coated in diamond grit. You just hold it and slowly feed it in and let the blade eat. Plus, the water keeps the blade from any heating.

      It was a layout issue. The edge of tile didn’t line up with the trim. In the soap niche. It was either that or rip a whole row out and restart. And see as I used schluter. It would have ruined the waterproofing too.

    I just got the newer version for my Silverado. It ain't cheap, but the drawers have been 100% dry inside so far. If you aren't planning on getting a bed cap, it's worth it. A DIY drawer system is unlikely to be as waterproof.

      @ProjectComplete 4 місяці тому

      So, I guess it depends on how you look at it. These American Modified lights are made in China, but in no way detract from their quality. Once you have them in your hand, you can tell the difference between these branded lights and for example a cheap Amazon Chinese knock off.

    Well I did this thinking it was a good preventive measure...well !.....old adage...."if it ain't broke...don't fix it !! This stands soooo true. After doing this procedure, I lost even more pressure on the hot water side. Spent days watching videos and reading but to no avail. Finally, just looking and studying the hot water heater tank, I looked at something odd...the outlet was 3/4 going to 1/2 line to the house. After wrestling with the fitting, I got it apart and there was the problem ! I disturbed the sediment and when I turned the water back on, the hot water side picked up the loose sediment and plugged my outlet side of the HWH. I cleaned it up...and every thing is fine now. PS, you might want to add that in your video.

    • @ProjectComplete
      @ProjectComplete 7 місяців тому

      Yes that is correct! I’m glad they were paying attention. Unfortunately for me, mine only comes with an extra purchase rail system with low ratings. Even with the new ones, I feel more comfortable with a higher rating and bolted into the bed of the truck.

    • @badhandjim2524
      @badhandjim2524 7 місяців тому

      @@ProjectComplete Actually, the new ones are bolted to the bed of the truck. Decked revised the mount so it passes through the system and attaches directly to the manufacturers original tie downs so it is directly connected. Not knocking your idea, just pointing out that this is for the legacy system rather than the new one.

      Hasn’t cracked so far, but yes it’s no OEM plastic. Haven’t had a light burn out yet. There are two little screws on the backside of each light that holds them in. Idk if they make direct replacements as I haven’t looked, but they are removable.

    i just finished refilling the unit and changing the seals. the seals seem to be holding, the pump runs, there's power to the button, but the motor wont go up or down. i can feel pressure building in the pistons, because there is resistance, but i am at a loss as to why it wont pressurize and function. any thoughts?

    • @ProjectComplete
      @ProjectComplete Рік тому

      Can you manually raise and lower the motor. If not the pistons may be seized and/or the rebuild/gaskets were done wrong. If you can manually raise and lower. The pistons aren’t seized and the hinge point may be. I’d try disconnecting the piston from the motor and see if they move. If the do and your motor hinge point is not seized. Your pump may be acting up and not providing enough power to get the motors weight up and down. I’d start with check oil and going from the top of this message through the rest.

    • @GmailGmail-gg8lt
      @GmailGmail-gg8lt Рік тому

      Yes, i can raise and lower it. I'll need a had to remove the piston and raise and lower it, but i think it will move. I released some air and think i may have released too much oil in the process. The pump is making some weird noises now, but it seems odd to have been working fine before the project and now...failing. but i guess everything has to break at some point. thanks for the feddback. i'll let you know what happens once i disconnect the piston@@ProjectComplete

    It looks like you have an orange strap around the lower end while you have the engine up. Is that for extra safety? What do you strap it to?

    • @ProjectComplete
      @ProjectComplete Рік тому

      I only did that to remove the pin to the center hydraulic. It was attached to a beam on the exterior over hang of the house. It allowed me to raise and lower the motor without a second hand and get fine adjustments to reinsert the pin. If you are not replacing seals you don’t need to remove the pin or detach the hydraulic from the motor mount the standard safety catch on the motor is all you need. When you have to remove the pin, the motor has to raise past the safety catch. I just didn’t want it slamming back down on the safety catch when the pin get removed. When you are just checking and refilling fluid the motor needs to raise and lower freely.
