Thank you so much for the good information/I flow you from Iraq🌷🤝
His bricklaying is 10-10
Probably the best one, nice clip Edward
Is it aline or align?
Twig line away from you lead if you are not using a pole.
Thickness of the line away from brick.
but you did not show how to set up the string. Does it magically appear at the right level without any skills?
how thick is the mortar betwen two bricks a how high is a line ?
Top bricky👍
Badass photographer 😡
Badass photographer🤒
Nice video bud
Genuinely thought this was going to be a bust at first glance... but then solid gold! To the point and showed so many trade secrets you'd have to watch hours of bs for. Amazing
Sry all, could this system of work apply to blocklaying corners? Dpc and wall ties aside?
Thanks again. Your skills, techniques and tips are very much appreciated.
Those color bricks are so pretty. Fancy spinning skills, by the way. Love it! I'm definitely doing this. Looks like #Fun 😀 Learning these beginer skills for my 1st Project: cat house Thank one for sharing. #Practice practice PRACTICE
Love the video , my mans like a gangster brick layer , he got the same tone like out the drug film called the business lol but more bout bricks 👍👍✊ keep them coming bruv I love em lol 😂
Great video 👍
You are building your corner wrong.Once the first course is set out, the only plumbing point should be the end of the wall. When you lay away from the corner check corner for plumb then range in diagonally otherwise you are adding more plumbing points and then you are more likely to have a kink in the wall.
Edward te felicito de Aca Argentina Cordoba te mando un abrazo cordial .
Superb video
Very good video for any apprentice coming into the trade, just a shame to many brickies forget the basics
my personal opinion i think he was in the military the way he was explaining 🤔
I wonder if Ed got paid for rendering the wall behind the spot board with mortar?
Come across your videos via the UA-cam algorithm, thank god! Excellent information and well presented, for a beginner like my self this, this is fantastic information pure gold. Currently building an outbuilding out of bricks 22ft by 12ft. Single skin with pillars. Small mistakes have been been made nothing major, but wish I had found channels like yours before I started building and practiced the techniques before hand, rather than as I build it! Question for you I'm 33 and would like a change of career, in your opinion is 33 too late to train and get qualified as a brick layer? Would be interested in your thoughts. Many thanks for these videos much appreciated 👍🙏
Great vid. Clear as Mud!
Gutt 👍👍
Buttering the end of the brick should be one movement just slap it on making sure the face side is full then lay brick and remove with trowel, quicker easier and doesnt soil the brick face in any way, this is how my dad taught me and he been laying bricks for over 60 years
Please make a video plaster wall complete detail
Wow I was tought to never hit the level with your trowel .
if any of my apprentices hit the level with the trowel.they would get my trowel on there effing arse .just not done in Manchester
Where are you now Edward ? Teaching or banging a few in? Would be nice if you could perhaps do some update vids as you are a good teacher and there will be a new crop of youngsters looking for some professional tips 👍💪🇬🇧
‘Aline’? Don’t you mean align?
Do you have a video on how to do the line correctly
4:46 noooooooo
I'm a bit late coming to the party but I'm always amazed at the number of brickies who tap the level to level a brick. I was always told you never tap the level, tap the brick. Neat work nonetheless.
Sundance thanks sundance, was taught the same but it is the best, quickest and most common way, guess as tools have become more expendable and the need to work quicker have led it
You didn't teach how to tie up the string
Is bricklaying fun or is it boring. I start college in 1 week and I’m on a construction course where I do different courses to do with construction. I don’t know what I like and I feel I will get board of it or just hate it. Is bricklaying fun or is it boring.
Gamer 26 I’m not going to try and pretend it’s something it’s not, me personally I enjoy it, it’s physical, hard, you achieve something and it pays well. The construction skills course you will do will be good as you will get a taste for each area, hopefully in year two they will let you do your chosen trade full time. Best way to learn is apprenticeship so after year 1 or 2 you should be looking to do this. You will find it boring at times that normal and not many will go on from your class and become good tradesmen. Keep your attendance high, go to maths and English if you need to and work harder than you knew you could. The more effort you put in the more you will get out of it. Good luck don’t let yourself get bored, remember there is always something to do
Edward Williams thank you for replying. Your info will help me. Do you have to be good at bricklaying or can you be bad at it. I always panic that when I start next week i would be terrible at it and others would be fantastic at it.
Gamer 26 you can be terrible to start with mate doesn’t matter at, is hard but don’t worry yourself with what the others are doing or compare yourself to them. Set yourself up well nice and neat get all your bricks ready before you start laying. Give yourself space between your board and wall. If your teacher is no good use my videos as they will teach you all the basics. Any questions once you start just ask us on here 👍
Edward Williams okay. Thanks.
terrible camera work and a nice tutorial
You wouldn't last 5 minutes on site you blagger
Jack Scotchbrook I am on site and have been fir a long time and earn good money. Assuming you are not as you are watching brickwork tutorials? What is it you are basing your assumptions on or just another keyboard warrior?
This is....The Larch!
No problem mate, thanks good luck to you 👍
Hi Ed...Thanks very much indeed for all of your advice which has been a great help during my training.
do you have a video showing how to butter a brick soldier ?
Thank you!
Good video. Nothing wrong with using handle on trowel to tap the level. Even pressure applied. You have good technique. 🧱👍
As a DIY’er, these video’s are invaluable! Nobody sets out on a job intending to get it wrong, but invariably mistakes happen when you’re ‘learning as you go’. Having watched hours of UA-cam clips on bricklayers with tips and tricks, this is one of the only one’s I’ve seen that goes through the whole process of building a corner in terms that most half decent diy’ers can understand. Can’t thank you enough!! 👍
Enlighten me. So many 'expert' bricklayers....yet you're watching a video on how to butter a brick
Dude give it up,cup side down
thank you you good
Unsure of you point, it will freeze and then melt just like it does on a paving slab or tarmac!
So what happens if water gets inside the wall and settles in the frog and then freezes?
