    Try hooking the cable to a 8’ 2x6 board and sled it down the topside, saves a lot of time especially if the hoods are already on.

    Well, guess what guys? I don’t know how to weld in my bumper came out meant never welded in my life asked my cousin to borrow his welder. He said yes watch the video for about five minutes. We did it together came out clean so you don’t need to know how to weld as long as you’re determined, don’t take that advice that you “need to know how to weld”

    Could you use a slightly smaller & temporary bridge piece with attachments installed on each end, and hook it up to old and new belts? Let the old belt pull up the new? Or is there no room at the tail end to remove old belt once it comes off? I use these in flat wire belting and 150-200 weight belts, but curious about monster belts like this. Is there a reason not to have new belt cut to length and lacing pre-installed?

    • @TurninNBurnin
      @TurninNBurnin 2 місяці тому

      @@timmymims6946 when changing out an old bent we will piggy back it and remove old belt as it pulls the new one. This was the first belt to go on the system. We didn’t have or didn’t want to rent a roll up machine and had the fork lifts to just hang it. Definitely using a roll off or winder works great. As far as cutting to length it’s just better to splice in place. This conveyor wasn’t designed. It was built in place from point A to point B. So no real drawings. Also if for some reason the bent gets hung up or rips the holes or is a few feet short somehow, then the precut and drilled was a waist. Also there will be some stretch in these belts over time and will need to be cut and respliced. Hope I was able to answer your questions.

      Interesting, what type of belt is this? And weight? Is there adjustment on each end or just 1? Even with drawings I measure with around pulleys with them sucked in & account for 1-2% stretch to make sure, and on heavy load belts like this maybe 4% …i distribute for PCI Mfg & few other places

    1/4” steel? How long until the material wears out that wall ?

    • @TurninNBurnin
      @TurninNBurnin 2 місяці тому

      @@joselopez3607 if my memory serves correctly, think I showed in the video how we built a shelf in the main area to build up material and it would wear rock and sand on rock and sand. Widen out the discharge opening and installed AR400 wear plate on areas that could see wear. Not sure how long this one lasted but the idea is before it wears through the AR plate they can replace it. All depends on the aggressiveness of the aggregate hitting the west spots and normally it’s a good practice to install a west plate, plastic or other medium to slow the wear.
