Ireland ~ 3rd Anniversary Vacation
Me Irish Eyes are Smiling!
We've been dreaming of and planning this trip since our return from our last vacation in Mexico! As they say, 1/2 the fun and happiness of a journey is in the planning and anticipation! Our year-long pre-trip immersion of preparing and planning, are just a pleasurable prelude of an unforgettable journey we've created!
For 2 weeks, we will explore the dramatic and breathtaking coastlines of the Emerald Isle! Our journey begins and ends in Dublin, driving counter clockwise each day, discovering the beauty, history and cultures that this majestic isle offers! While one can truly spend months here and still not see it all, we have chosen our most favorite sights to see. Here is a clip of our planned itinerary.
Erin go Bragh!!

"The Making of Bubba's Boom Boom Bus" - Edited Version
Переглядів 13 тис.9 років тому
The original video posted August 2013, repeated the ramp section and omitted the bus section. This edited version includes "How to" instructions for 3 sections; the ramp, the bus, and the winch. Please excuse the shake; it wasn't on the original but something UA-cam is doing. Thanks for watching!

Bubba Boom Boom Bus #2
Переглядів 22 тис.11 років тому
As Bubba is getting older, he is losing mobility in his hips and hind legs and having difficulty going up and down the stairs to go out. Papi has built him a handicap lift to take him up/down the stairs. We all LOVE it, including BUBBA!!! What a HUGE SUCCESS!

Did you have any problems with the cable binding up in the winch? If so, how did you fix this?
Genius!
I'm in the process of building a very similar elevator and am just curious about what you refer to as a safety at the 3:17 mark of the video. I can see that it restricts the cable from moving around after it comes off the third pully which is smart, but I'm puzzled as to how it acts as a safety if the cable were to let go. Since the cable goes through it during normal operation, how would it stop anything? Wouldn't the cable just slide right through it if something with the cable failed? Thanks for your advice.
it was for just in case...we never really had an issue with it...good luck!
Amazing. Going to try to build this for my doggie!❤
Hello Jean-Marc. Thanks for a great video. Just wondering about the winch cable. The slot in the wall is very small, so how did you get the big end of the winch cable through that slot. Did you take the end of the cable apart and reconnect it afterwards.?
Yes, exactly!
Thank you! Yes, that is exactly what we did!
Thanks for sharing.
Wow so very clever and a lot of work, well done. I wonder if there's a way for at the door to be hinged at the very bottom or even concertinad so the door itself becomes the ramp all the way to the floor. Even something like a 2 part drawbridge that folds as it closes or opens. It could even be automated or spring-loaded with a lever that pushes against a stop at the bottom of the stairs causing it to open slowly as the bus reaches the bottom. The floor of the bus could be a plate that triggers an oscillating switch allowing the bus to go up or down once the dog's weight was on it. Even without any automation a whole other piece the full height of the front of the bus hinged to the top of the existing door could fold so that looks like the front of the bus again but when it comes down to the bottom it all unfolds to a full ramp to the floor. Just a thought.😊
Can you run this by battery? If so do you know which one to buy? Thanks!
Great work. The only part I'm lost on is how you could plug a winch into the wall. Aren't those winches usually DC?
Hey their Bubba!.. Would your Daddy like to share his plans with me for my Mums Dog Charlie.. Charlie has displasure in both front legs and his mummy lives on the second floor of her house. Charlie is a large 90lb standard Sausage Dog and is very sad he cant be with his mum while hes healing. If you can ask John Marc if he has any plans that he can share it will be awesome.. Thank you Bubba
Can you tell all the material required to make this please 🙏 fast make a list and tell
This is amazing. I was planning on building something just like this for my guy
So confused why you repeat yourself twice??😮
Bubba was a lucky boy, you are a good man for doing this for your dog .
Hi Renée. I am a Brazilian journalist from Record TV and I would like to get authoration for usage of this video.
Hello Julio! Sure, you can use the video and any others ..there is an informational one on how to build it as well. Please make sure to give credit back to us! Thank you for sharing!
@@reneeksantiago8519 what should be the name for the credit, please?
how is the winch hooked onto the trolly?
why not just carry them down/up? I rather like a wheelchair lift.
That is awesome! Bubba is the king!!
Hi. Great vid. Very clever design. Just wondering if this winch automatically stops at the top or bottom? Or do you have to watch it all of the way and stop it yourself?
We used a remote control winch and walked along side of the bus just in case. It stops whenever it wherever as soon as you stop pressing the button
What we want do for our animals we love them so much I'm sitting here laughing great job
You are a lifesaver, this is brilliant. Bubba has the best parents ever🙏
Thank you so much!
I’m so happy I found this. My pitbull is 12 and she’s having such a hard time with the stairs now. She can walk them but by the time nighttime comes she’s so soar and in pain. I hope I can use this video and build her own soon!
Thank you for taking the time to do this video!!!!
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!!!
SWEET!! thANKHyou!!
Renee: i know this is an old video but do you have instructions for making this that you can share? how long did it take to create the whole thing from start to finish? any safety concerns about the "bus" rolling back down stairs by accident while the dog is in it?
This is the full edited version video my hubby made that includes everything from the track to the system to the bus etc. We used ours for years and it never rolled backwards. I encourage you to watch the full video at least once. ua-cam.com/video/i3gY8rNpSeM/v-deo.html
@@reneeksantiago8519 thanks!
You could have had a double hinged door at the front and had the door open down to the bottom of stairs not needing the other contraption
Do you have any advice for an outside version? Our dog is having difficulty going down our balcony steps to go potty :(
you are amazing!!, our dog just recently having problems, she hurt her back trying to get on our bed, my husband built a ramp, but her back hurts so much harder for her to use, my husband carpenter and thinks lot like you, he put slats for foot holds but its just too daunting, we got her some antienflamitories from the vet, but its still hard, id love to put that on the ramp by our bed, i need mor info about the electronic pully device, how does that hook up to the pullys? and how have you not sold a billion of these and are not a billionaire?:D id so buy one!!
Wow. I want to do a ski lift for mine and found this vid. I'm worried about the rest of the family tripping over the ramp, hence, the reason for the hip-level (upside down) ramp. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Great job!
hello, what width C channel did you use and what size wheels? i can not find C channel wide enough at hope depot other than for very small wheels - please help
Great idea
How'd you secure the ramp to the floor?
𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚒𝚜 𝚜𝚘 𝚏𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚐𝚎𝚗 𝚌𝚞𝚝𝚎.
hello, do you have any addl info on making the bus? thank you
Hello! Please make sure you are watching the edited version...it has all the instructions for every piece. ua-cam.com/video/i3gY8rNpSeM/v-deo.html
Hi Renee, can I email you as I need to build this for my 90 lb. lab. Can I ask a few questions? How can I reach you via email?
hey, I'm trying to help out my grandmother with her small dog, I understand everything except for what was used on the inside of the wall, like where the electrical stuff was used. Can you explain that for me please?
Hi Eli! Please be sure you watch the edited version of this video which explains everything in detail. We just drilled a hole in the wall and kept the winch on the other side which was our garage. You have to feed the end of the winch through the wall to the bus. Good luck, your grandmother and her baby will love it!

Great video! I really need this for my 15 yr old lab but don’t have the skills to DIY it myself. Also my staircase is outside. I guess it would have to be built without the carpet? Any chance you are in the NJ area? Thx
Hi Tammie! Sorry, not in NJ. Just show this video to your local handyman ank him to improvise it for your situation. Good luck, and thanks for watching!
Sir if I send you pictures can you please advise cheapest way to build
thanks alot for this video ! 🙏🏼 was searching the whole time for an instruction ! please never delete those videos, you‘re helping many dogs with it. 😇
Thanks for watching Laura! We won't delete them. We are happy to help others.
Brilliant! Our dog (Ronald) has just had major hip surgery, will be building similar this weekend. Thank you!
You are very welcome! Good luck with your project!
Fantastic. But did you say you were renting? Did you get in trouble drilling holes?
Hello! Yes, we were renting at the time, and no we did not get into trouble because the holes were very small but we left everything in great condition when we took it down and left. Thanks for watching! 🙂
This is incredible. And exactly what I’ve been searching for, for years! A pet elevator for those who can’t do stairs! This could double as a grocery elevator or lift, too. So cool! Thank you for sharing.
Super awesome stuff!
Great job putting this together. I need to do something like this for our corgi.
Great video! Thank you so much for posting. I was wondering how you prevent the bus from being front heavy. I worry that it would flip over when my doggie sits in it.
I wanna see the dog!
Hi Melissa! There's 2 videos showing Bubba going up and down in the bus. Just search for Bubba boom boom bus
