I’ll be honest, I hated the reveal of her because I thought Hasbro was doing the iron man 3 BS again but with modern day social Media. I think forgotten Friendship is actually a real commentary on Cancel Culture ruining people’s lives. Wallflower does give off hardcore Reddit Detective vibes in this. Ironically this special came out 4 years before Cancel Culture was widely known and abused. Kinda props to the team for exposing Cancel Culture years before it became a thing.

I never liked Wallflower from the start, and this video perfectly describes just why I just dislike her so much. I even wrote my own take of this special to which many people who read it thought I did a better job. One hug part that I wish happened that I did in my version is how the girls ended up believing sunset over proof they had found, which they shouldn’t seen from a mile away seeing they have proof on them that they somehow miss being photos, texts, vids, etc that they strangely didn’t notice within a span of 3 days. It makes me feel glad Wallflower was never seen much post Forgotten Friendship (except the background) as I feel like she was one of the weaker villains like Post Crush for example. With that out of my mind, I’m glad to know this video exists as I feel like Hasbro just wasn’t thinking straight when wanting to make a special on it as having to hear the mention of Sunset’s past post the first eqg film, was complete fine and enough for me and other fans to deal with. Even if my comment might frustrate some people, I know there are many who more or less feel the same.

Yeah. There was a difference between Sunset and Wallflower's redemption. Sunset was defeated and was struck with hard reality by Twilight before she apologized, explaining her reasons and even as a kid watching it at age of 7, I felt bad for her so much but not condoning what she did. But Wallflower apologized just because she was defeated. nothing more, nothing less. Sunset even tried to reason with her, but girl refused. It made me so mad when I watched this movie as a 10 year old how easily Wallflower was forgiven cause even Juniper had time to think what she was doing. And Sunset in Rainbow Rocks wasn't so easily forgiven. No one, not even the cutie mark crusaders really trusted her. But Wallflower was instantly forgiven like it was nothing. It would have been better if 1: Wallflower was a pony and a student of Celestia and a good friend to Sunset but was betrayed by her and was taunted so much she went to the human world or 2: Was a student who was bullied and isolated so relentlessly that she was invisible. Instead she's a poor representation of people who have social anxiety like me. I mean it hurts to feel invisible or not even be genuinely loved by peeps for who you are. But I would never delete people's memories. This movie teaches that just because someone has a sad backstory, it means forgivenss is fast and that wasn't even the point. Even Juniper Montage was better. But that's all I gotta say about this character. I hate people like her. You think destroying someone who worked so hard to be redeemed reputation and deleting everyone's memories will get you liked but get upset no one remembers you. That's it. Sorry for my long rant.

Wallflower's motivation if you could even call it that made absolutely no sense to me. SHE erases everyone's memories of her yet she's mad that no one remembers her? And Sunset never even bullied her but she acts like she did and she's mad about that, but she's also mad that Sunset is trying to better herself and is actually making friends? So she's jealous that Sunset has friends but why specifically Sunset? Everyone else at Canterlot High has friends too. Not just Sunset. What exactly does she want? Gosh dang it she makes me so mad

Yeah, I don’t think Sunset has to apologise at the end because she didn’t do shit to Wallflower; it was her own damn fault for not trying hard enough to get noticed. Plus, she was literally erasing everyone’s memories of her & yet Wallflower is like “Oh how come nobody notices me???”. I also think Trixie has to take some of the blame because her massive ego had to remind everyone that Sunset was a prick & this is what gave Wallflower the ammo to ruin Sunset’s day!!!

They forgave Sunset Shimmer in like a millisecond what makes you think they wouldn't forgive Wallflower blush also it's a cartoon it's not that serious it's not that deep in cartoons they usually always forgive the villain no matter what.

She reminds me of Kuronuma from Me to You; or generally a social outcast at the start of the story before they met the bubbly social butterfly who they fall in love with; only she never found that person to pull her out of that toxic perspective.

Had it ben limited to just erasing Sunsets memories or the memories of Sunset being good, she might have been redeemable. The the moment she used the stone at the end of the movie, she lost every chance of being redeemed. She was not transformed into a demon by magic or even seemed to have been influenced by possessing a magical artifact. She was clearly willing to cause serious harm, was willing to break up princess Twilights human friends, and was willing to put the entire school and possibly the entire world in danger all for the sake of revenge. She makes the motives of every other EQG villain look reasonable.

Honestly, fair enough, seeing the take on her removing any idea of her to the point of erasing any image of her from the school database(given the picture missing, it was more directed at pinning her to anything than her existence entirely). However, with her being this way since middle school, there wouldn't be many alternatives present, and more time for that negativity to fester, reaching an impasse when Sunset was defeated(important with the events of Friendship Games setting Sunset to where Wallflower probably started feeling negative towards her) Given how long between those two events changes how believeable this is, but moping about and stumbling on the magic early means she'd act out on emotions rather than logic if she took longer, but given the inaction prior, she'd remember a bad memory and test it out. Wanting to redo things, she starts small and tries to do them better, but it goes the same way given it still being a fresh start. Coupled with Sunset's attempts at redemption being rejected, it starts a depraving loop, albeit slowly since this would come to a head after Legend of Everfree. Within that timespan, however, the encouraging attempts by Sunset turn sour as her attempts found success where Wallflower can't, Sunset's friends preventing her from falling into that same situation(from Sunset's answer to pony Twilight suggessting redemption, Sunset may have faced a similar fate had they not helped her start). (Before starting, regardless if she deserves it or not, interrupting is just rude, so it probably contributed to the anger near the end)This next part uses the song, starting with: "A laundary list of nothings Not likely to succeed" With the constant erasing of any public speaking, it stopped being about making friends and just existing, but being something (heavily influenced based on what the opinion is of the deleted part of the song: "A star fading at dawn Invisible, invisible, Won't be long before I'm gone") She still wanted friends, though, as seen with: "I'm sitting here alone Right beside my shadow Always on my own" Both of these in mind, the focus on Sunset may've been split, an admiration to make something of herself and have friends, and an envy, though not of her, but the idea she represented Ultimately, that negativity lashed out at the most tangible thing it could, the Memory Stone having already fed into that mindset with impression, and given how much individuals have done to leave a great life, Wallflower's actions are in line Finally back to the divisive point, Wallflower's apology is worse off by only happening afterwards, but the reactions to erasing all of Sunset's time on Earth(most likely also her "high school" years in Equestria given the reaction)and the shock at using the word "hate" partially explain it by not having the moment to apologize, though not excused. Generally, she realizes the loop her depravity caused and its consequences, even saying as much, and while that part wouldn't really warrant an apology in return, the franchise has done similar parts for the sake of friendship and giving others chances Really, the lack of discussion on this character kind of inspired this comment, too(though not as a video for specific reasons not mentioned), and while I figure that you've heard this kind of argument before, I certainly don't think it would change your opinion. Though it does give an interesting experience in seeing the next video, given the next two antagonists having the themes of perfection as well, and personally seeing Wallflower as doing it best.

I haven't watched this episode myself as I didn't really catch up on the Equestria girls side of things. But based on your video, I feel she just wants the attention and love from others and expect it unconditionally because it comes naturally to others. Unfortunately, people need to put in effort if you want to be noticed. Otherwise, they'll let you rot and leave you alone because you won't take initiative. Friendship is transactional. No one will be your friend if you don't show up and ask for it. Maybe her perspective is no one bothered asking her to be friends first and the one time it did, it was from the very person she was incredibly bitter about and only wanted it from everyone except her.

I kinda wish like after getting so pissed that she really didn't give a sh!t about possibly killing people who simply annoyed her one of the girls just called the cops. Others: What are you doing? AJ: calling the police. Others: WHAT?! AJ: If friendship can't fix her, maybe a little time in the slammer can. Vignette: WHAT?! You can't arrest me! I'm famous!! AJ: You literally thought you were killing my friends and went ahead with it anyways. Vignette: And how are they gonna believe you?! That my phone tried to kill you? AJ: Well all your victims are here and ready to testify. We have proof of evidence for magic on our heads. The crowd also saw what you did and there's also security camera footage of you zapping dash. AJ in equestria has helped put trouble shoes in the slammer. I wouldn't be surprised if in the past she's called the popo breaking into her family farm's property (if she has one)

It's actually quite realistic having a villain that just doesn't care. That's the one point I disagree with in the video, she ABSOLUTELY is a villain, if you're doing things without caring or thinking about what that's doing to others that's extremely cruel and sadly extremely common.

I think people should forgive and not hold a grudge, but you definitely do not have to be friends or anything like that with them to forgive. I think we can all agree that being an envious and/or egotistical person has to be the worst character traits ever.

My problem with this special was that they made it so specific to the memories that were erased, like only the bad ones? I think it would be better if they get rid of every memory of her instead of just the bad ones. She goes up to them, but the mane 6 is surprised and says something like, "Who are you?" or "I don't know you!". I think they could have done more with the story. I'm not exactly sure. Tell me what you think.

I really like Vignette for some reason. She was always one of my favorite MLP villains, along with Cozy Glow, Suri Polomare, and the Dazzlings. One thing I liked about her is how it's so funny the way she talks and how I don't understand a thing she says. I also lowkey thought her versions of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were cool and I like that they were their polar opposite styles: Fluttershy being a gothy bad girl, and Rainbow Dash being a soft 50's sockhop sweetheart. And to be honest I kinda want to see an alternate version of the Rainbows where all the characters are trapped in Vignette's phone and get these "Throwbacks" hologram counterparts. To be honest, Vignette is one of the characters that you see in one episode or special or something where they are a lot more interesting than the Mane 6/7, and yet, after that episode/special/movie, they never appear again; they might appear again as a background character or a mere reference by name but not in any significant way. I kinda wish we had more screen time for character development for characters like Vignette because there are so many unanswered questions about her like, "What was her childhood like that made her have no friends and find comfort in her online following?" "Why is she so unapologetically evil to believe that she has to trap other people in her phone because they're not 'perfect" enough for her?" "What does she mean when she says 'I wish I had this thing years ago. Think how perfect my life could've looked!'?" I'm sure there are more questions out there like that but those are the ones off the top of my head right now. But yeah, I kinda wish we got to see her some more and learn more about why she is the way she is, like Suri Polomare, Juniper Montage, Wallflower Blush, and Cozy Glow. Though with Cozy Glow, she is a little better than the others I mentioned because at least she gets to appear more than once in the show and does have significant roles in most of the episodes she's in

Vignette was the inspiration to most of my own OC’s. i also relate to the whole ‘indifferent’ part, if someone came explaining the magic of friendship to me I probably wouldn’t have cared anyway.

Vignette actually felt more interesting as a character in this fanfic I've read, The Tale of Two Sunsets.

I adore how unapologetically evil she was: she was perfectly willing to suffocate people to death and enjoy it. She is also gorgeous. Bland character otherwise. You should also analyze the Dazzlings and Cozy Glow! 💜❤️

To be fair... this movie... and Legend of the Everfree.... are both GARBAGE in regards to the Equestria Girls movies. (Best one is Rainbow Rocks, and I will BURY everyone that tries to argue against that, on that hill) The first EQG was good for it's introduction to the spin-off movies. And the 3rd EGQ was good because it was all about bringing the Human world Twilight into the happiness too. Buuuuut... Legend of the Everfree.... just felt 'meh'... and yeahhhh... Forgotten Friendship is just trying to be all like: "Look how much of a bitch Sunset Shimmer used to be..." and I feel that's not exactly conducive to the movies. Or even FIM as a whole. At least with Discord in the show he's shown to have STAGES of 'learning' S3: Becomes friends with Fluttershy S4: Trolls a bit, but nothing harmful until Tirek shows up to basically lure Discord away by making him doubt himself. S6: Him, Trixie, Starlight, and Thorax.... save the day *nods nods* S8: A LOT of Discord Learning moments, but he also actually helped make sure that he didn't cause Big Mac and Sugar Belle to break up without being able to fix things. S9: Discord is TRYING to do good here... buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.... at the end of the day, he's still Discord. (Besides... we got to see 'PINKIE GOD'... and I think that makes up for his mistakes in that season *nods nods*)

And with Fluttershy as such a classic weeb, (I mean, I assume that carries over into Eqg from her pony counterpart) if she had been nicer about it, the two could have absolutely collaborated on the look. I WANT to like her. but no one is obligated to be your friend. it doesn't make you a bad person for not being friends with someone?? like yeah. not being mean to them and being respectful is really all you need to do, actually. there is also a difference between people ignoring you on purpose, and you LITERALLY ERASING YOURSELF FROM THEIR MEMORY SO THEY FORGET ABOUT YOU. I suppose in a non-magical way, you could interpret that as choosing to not interact or talk to anyone for so long they forget. And it's like. That's pretty relatable. But it's not the other people's fault. It's a you problem that you need to work on yourself. If the show had given that message in the end, it would have been great, but no, it's tOTALLY sunset's fault for ignoring her even tho she literally could not have remembered because she ERASED HER MEMEORY. god. anyways.

I'm a wallflower but for some reason everyone that met me remembered me and my name whether I told it to them or not. Kinda wish I could erase myself from their memories like that but I wouldn't use that against someone- especially not for not remembering me after I erased the memory of myself from their mind.
