    Is it different if u use liquid pectin bs powder? I’ve always followed the certo recipe and they have you boil juice and sugar for 1 min then add pectin and boil another minute. It’s always turned out set

    Just to let you know that water on your lids is not an issue. Also you tighten the lids so tight. You only need to close it finger tight. The air in the jars has to be able to escape to create a suction.

    We used your method this morning an made muskedine grape jelly. 19 cups of fluid 15 cups of sugar. We just took the first batch out of th water bath. I hope it sets up. It is super good. Thank you for your how to video. I’ve made lots of jelly in my life but a few batches of wild blackberry did not set so I cooked it down. But this was very helpful. Thanks again from East Texas! ❤

      As a side dish, I would say this safely would accommodate 6-8 depending on how large of portions your people generally take for a potato side! We had 4 who ate with us for this meal and had a little left over.

    I’m trying this tonight! We are busy with being out in the sunshine and going to the park and I just hate boiling the potatoes on the stove it seems to take forever and I constantly have to tend to it and stir and I just don’t have time for that with 5 kids and 3 of them are under 5, I don’t have time for all that so I love the crock pot to make it now and have it ready to go when I get home! Thanks for this recipe and method of doing this!! It’s a lifesaver and my whole family loves these potatoes so now that I have an easier way to make them, I’ll make them more often!!!

  • @maribelquesada5651
    @maribelquesada5651 Рік тому

    Oh no now I’m nervous.. I’m using Sure Jell pectin the recipe calls for 5 cups juice and 7 cups sugar.. it’s one more cup of sugar than you add. I would hate for this to not turn out…. I picked fresh grapes

    Your videos have been helpful! I’m making pomegranate jelly for gifts. Do you know anything about boiling the lids right before putting them on the jars? My mom and grandma did it that way when they would make jelly some years ago. They would boil the lid with the rubber lining so it would be very soft and hot and once the jars were filled they would take the lids out of the water, dry them well and place them on the jars and screw on the other piece. I think the water bath looks easier, though.
