Finding Lots Of Roach In This Tiny River!
Переглядів 1,2 тис.6 днів тому
So i’m on the lookout for new Chub spots this winter. I go to this stretch of river where I grew up when I was younger for the first time and I manage to find Roach… lots of them! I was using a bomb and managed to get a fair few but then switched over to the float at the end which was definitely the way forward. I haven’t fished for Roach a lot in the past but I’m definitely going to be coming ...
The Nicest Place To Fish For Pike!
Переглядів 1,2 тис.11 днів тому
I’m back on this special venue that holds lots of pike. They’re not very big but they put a bend on the rod. What’s best is the surroundings. All sorts of wildlife about and is a dream to just sit there and take it all in. Thankfully I caught one. I thought it was gonna be a blank because of tough conditions but this place never seems to disappoint. I’ll definitely be making more visits to this...

After a disappointing Saturday on the River Severn, I had some left over maggots and spam to explore this new stretch. It was a hard weekend fishing but managed a couple of small fish. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of this new stretch! Please like, comment and subscribe! #fishing #ukfishing #riverfishing #outdoors #wildlife #nature #smallriver #chubfishing

MASSIVE Barbel From The River Thames!
Переглядів 2,9 тис.Місяць тому
Im back on the River Thames on the search for a bigger Barbel after last weeks antics and wow did it pay off! I was about to pack up and as always, i look at my rod for a couple of minutes hoping something would magically take my bait (it never does). After about 10 seconds of looking, there was a big knock at the end of my rod, i paused for 2-3 seconds then my rod tip just started slowing bend...

After the many hours and blanks on the Thames, i decided to take a step back and target smaller species using maggots. This was exactly what i needed, catching some perch and small chub. Back on the River searching for my first Thames Barbel. Been tough going the last 2/3 weeks but i’m putting in the hours after work and hoping it pays off soon. Im hoping after all this rain we’ve had recently that luck comes my way and i finally catch one. Im trying to be as real as possible and show that you don’t catch every single time you go fishing. Some cracking fishing there Tom. Love a nice tiny stream with some welcome surprises. If it is where I think it is , there are barbel around and some good chub along with those lovely roach. Enjoyed the video a lot. 👍
@@markerd5378 Thanks Mark! Yeah i think you’re right about the stretch. The guy i spoke to hasnt caught a chub out of here for about 3 years. He said they seem to of disappeared. The barbel spot is further down i believe which i didn’t go to but will have to try it out one weekend to see if there is anything knocking about
I could do with catching some pike bait aswell
Amazing fishing
What river is this
Just came across your channel mate. Lovely venue. New sub 😊
@@fishingvanlife Hi Chris, cheers mate 👍🏻
@RoveWithTom cheers 🍻
I dream of finding where roach have shoaled up for the winter on my local rivers! Sometimes you find them and then you go back a few weeks later, or try the same swim around the same time the following year and it’s empty! But it’s a good feeling when you find them and I need to do more of this fishing this winter - roving with bread and searching them out! Good stuff 👍
@@themagicoffishing This is local to us John! Yeah i know what you mean. It was good to talk to other anglers about whats in here. Will definitely be going back with the correct tackle to target bigger Roach. Was going to go back this weekend but the weathers not the best! Cheers, i seem to be enjoying this kind of fishing the most at the moment. You just don’t know what you’re going to catch
Lovely fishing , searching a new stretch and not sure what your going to catch is always exciting . Been doing it for 50 odd years and still look forward to every session . Look forward to your next film 👍
@@johncollyer4117 Thank you, John. Always full of surprises when fishing. Tight lines 🎣

Where is the venue please?
Good luck with that question ,😊
@@johnh5660 Thanks but I don't hold out much hope of it being revealed.
Always such a joy when you set out to catch something specific and it actually happens - for the cameras n all! 🎉
@@themagicoffishing You know John. This place is just something else. A fish is a bonus here
Hi mate enjoyed that . What go pro do you use ?
@@Riverrover Cheers mate! I use the DJI Action 5 Pro. Really good so far, not had it long.

hiya, my toughts exactly, i strike straightaway. if i miss i miss, went last week, struck soon after a take and hooked both in the corner of the mouth. i personally use 2 single barbless hooks too on a trace. new sub from me. cheers.
@@VintageThings-qy5wm Hi. I’ve not used single hooks, i may have to give it a go on this venue. Thank you for subscribing 👍🏻
Very good tom 👍
Nice video Tom, could you tell me what tackle you are using please. Thankyou in advance. Tom
@@tomcline8849 Hi Tom. Korum All Rounder 1.25lb rod. Korum Inferno 3000 reel. Im using Guru 1/3 oz bomb on a running ring which i cant recommend enough. Can get a really accurate cast with them. Let me know if you want to know anything else 👍🏻
Thanks Tom, is the rod 11ft or 12 it also seems to have soft top to show bites.
@ Mine is the Korum Allrounder 1.25lb 11ft. Korum also does the Allrounder Quiver Rod that comes with 3 different tips. It’s a really nice looking rod for about £55 on angling direct.
Thanks for the info. Enjoy your fishing it's just my style. Tom
@ Cheers Tom. Tight lines 🎣
Nice vid and nice memories of your granddad 👍💙🎣🐟
@@themagicoffishing Thank you John. Looking forward to who’s gonna win the cake and book!! 🤣🍰📖
I only fished for around 3hrs today and had two chub. I could go out tomorrow, fish the same swim, same method and bait and catch bugger all.....thats the way it goes but at least we got out the house and had a go 👍👍👍

Great fish! I want to come to Europe to catch a barbel, anyways cool channel and I’ll definitely subscribe! Tight lines from Michigan!
All I think about when fishing is how do I catch the next fish I leave money problems family issues behind I know they’ll still be there but for a period of time I can unwind and recharge.
@@stuartcoleman3445 Thanks for your comment Stuart. That’s great that you can use fishing for unwinding and recharging. Its a very healthy way to escape 👍🏻🎣
When fishing nothing else seems to matter. Work & life stresses are forgotten, gives me a welcomed reset. 👍🏼
@@BarneyTrent A welcomed reset is a lovely way to put it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 👌🏻🍂🎣
Hi Tom fishing is my safe place away from the black dog that turns up and bites me on the arse at times. Loads of leaves coming down this week which made fishing awkward but by tying some pole elastic a couple of foot above the lead on the main line it stops them all collecting around your weight so that helps. Not alot of barbel in the stretch you are fishing so its going to be hard going. Watch out for John the magic of fishing he will nick all your spots lol.No he is a great guy and I have spent a fair bit of time fishing with him and helping him to get to know the Thames. Don't let him see this because he might get all big headed lol.
@@neilwayte517 Hi Neil, thank you for your comment. There’s no better place to be when that black dog turns up. I will give that pole elastic trick a go 👌🏻. Yeah like i said, i think there will be another dry spell but im going to be venturing out a bit for some fishing over the next couple of months which should put a bend in my rod. Hahah John is bound to see your comment! I would be more than happy for the next fisherman to catch a fish out of this stretch!
Well, fishing is relaxing for me . I don't drink, don't smoke so this is my hobby.
@@thetreeoflifegardeningserv9590 I know what you mean, and all that time and money saved from drinking and smoking can go towards fishing! 😁
Proper fishing
Brilliant video 👌
@@markjones919 Thank you Mark 👍🏻
Amazing fish Tom. Where are you routhly fishing. I fish around Oxford.
@@simplesidj Thank you 👍🏻 i try and fish different places, from Berkshire to West London and many places to explore in Surrey. It can certainly keep you busy for a while trying different rivers. I tried to fish near Oxford last year but was flooded. How is the fishing over there?

Great result from a tough venue! Well done.
@@awilderireland Thanks very much!
Appreciate your angling , appreciate the fish but I don't appreciate your blasphemy. Jesus Christ bless his Holy name.
If you're pestered by bream use more hemp and massive hookbait as Guy Rob did in one of his videos when he was fishimg the Thames.
Hi Tom, I watched all 3 of the videos many and many times. Those guys with John Baker helped me a lot in barbel fishing. Since I watched those videos, I started to roll my bait for my barbel fishing. I know that.stretch holds big barbel, but be patient and do your "homework." At the end of the day, you will catch some.
@@thetreeoflifegardeningserv9590 Hi, they are fantastic films, i might watch some more. Ive finally caught a couple in the last couple of weeks which i have uploaded videos off! Took me a while but hopefully they keep coming now. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻

@@woodsman2433 Thank you mate 👍🏻 they certainly were 🤞🏻🙏
Could do with getting it back in the water a bit quicker and less parading to the camera, something to bear in mind for the next one 😉

Awesome! Told ya Tom, once you've had that first one the rest will follow mate.
@@markbristow3663 I was thinking about your comment quite a lot actually Mark hoping it would be true and it was! Lets hope the fish keep on coming 🤞🏻🎣
@@RoveWithTom get yourself a barometer Tom, keep a check on the weather and pretty much everytime we've got a low pressure it's barbel time
@@markbristow3663 Was talking to another angler about pressure a few weeks ago and he swears by it. I’ve been keeping an eye on it on the weather app and the pressure was spot on when I got this barbel so I’ll definitely be using it more moving forward 👍🏻
Excellent result.....well done thats a cracking barbel and to have a 16lbs fish under your belt too . Keep it up 👍👍👍
@@Nick-01536 Thank you Nick! It was a special fish. It’s nearly been a year now since i caught that 16lb. I may have to revisit the stretch where i caught it from…
What a beast 😲 Well jeal. That’s what you get for fishing into the dark when 4oz of lead won’t hold 🤯👏 Massively well deserved fella 🤩🐟 Great to see the mind blown emotion - you will still be able to remember that when your hair’s grey or fallen out.
@@themagicoffishing Cheers mate! It honestly doesn’t get any better - after catching last week, right before i was going to pack up and then it being a good double. I’ll definitely remember that till i’m grey and old 👌🏻🎣
Well done Tom hard fishing there at the minute aswell
@@ScottStraw-h2l Cheers Scott. It has been hard going. Im hoping they keep trickling in every 1/2 weeks at least. Have you been fishing it?
MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS. An absolute beauty! Perseverance paid off big time 👍🏼
@@BarneyTrent Thank you Barney!! Perseverance definitely paying off.
Congratulations! Now you've caught your first many more should follow. It took me a season before I caught my first on the Thames, now they come regularly. 😀
@@markbristow3663 Hi Mark, thank you. Thats what I’m hoping! 🤣
Get in! Couldn’t have put it better myself 🤜 I’m proper jealous, too, as I’m yet to manage a Thames barbel (not been trying too long but know enough to understand it’s not easy!). Nice work. The great thing about starting a UA-cam channel is also that you get to record and save magic moments like this 😎
