Watching you break apart all of the old concete looks very difficult. What do you think the owners of the house will do in 50+ years if they have to dig out some of the new concrete you have added over the last year or so? What would you do if you found a patch of new conrete you had to dig out? I have done a similar remodel on a 1890's house, but the structure was is much better shape than your house is so I appreciate all of the work your doing.
When I was breaking up the floor next to the garage, you could read the floor like a book! I knew exactly what my great-grandfather did, what my grandfather, when there was a recession, when there was no cement, when there was no steel, when EVERYTHING was, next time nothing again... What my great-grandparents built was all about the consistency of a cookie, but when I got to what my grandfather made...yikes! Sparks were flying! My descendants, if they happen to need to tear down or dig up something, God forbid, they will probably curse "Oh this f---ing bastard!"
