Jenna you are doing amazing considering your horrendous childhood. I’m a never in who had a terrible childhood and watching you gives me strength and hope. Thank you ❤

Question: Have you seen any difference in how your parents (and other Scientology parents) treated you as a child and still treat that child in you from how they treat their grandchildren? (I saw your chat with Aaron and thought about this) Will they apply the same harsh thinking and rules to them?

  • @Rana-Kethla

What you said there at the end Jenna is hitting the nail on the head for me. Never:ins relate due to their own experiences and want to find strength and more in other people's stories. I think this is the human condition and the human connection.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us! You are not alone, after dealing with the details, I would have cried in the hotel room too. For me, as a child, I couldn't predict when traumatic events would EXPLODE!. So as an adult, a good plan gives me a sense of control. Unexpected disruptions of my plans can result in all the feelings you described, lost lonely, with no control in my life. Plus an extra day away from my kiddo.. All children with trauma, we get it! We see you, we are saying, same here!! Sending love and hugs!!! Thank you so much for normalizing these discussions!

@ProudMomofTater I'm sorry for your trauma experiences. Even for those of us who have less intense trauma as kids, that feeling of being alone and the fear of not knowing and feeling unsafe and anxious because there are no adults or people who care about you present with you in that moment is the most unsettling. There are times when I would want to cry in that situation (as an adult now) as well. While these reactions are normal, childhood trauma intensifies all of these events as they occur throughout life. As we hear each others' stories, we want to wrap our arms around each other 🫂 Thank you, Jenna, for sharing you with us ❤

No child should be tossed around the country, alone, left to fend for themselves. I remember lying about getting sick during a sleepover when I was probably 12-13 because I missed my house, my familiar space and comfort zone. You were forced to overcome a natural fear at way too young an age. It totally makes sense that you would be triggered as you described. Maybe one day this organization will truly be held accountable for treating children like less than people

Hello Jenna. As a never in, in my opinion, every scientology parent should be ashamed of themselves for allowing, and contributing to such a horrible childhood for their children. It is truly an evil cult on so many levels, but this one video has shown me what awful damage it has done to you and probably all ex scientologists. I am in awe of your strength, and wish every day to be filled with love, kindness and respect for you and all the ex scientologists.

First, thank you George and Sandy for being so kind to Jenna and her kids! You both are examples of what real friends are! Jenna… I think George and Sandy are just good examples of good hearted genuine people who care about others. There are so many people just like them out here loving you from farther away. While I can never truly understand the cadet org or the sea org or growing up how you did or how a child was sitting in an airport for 2 hrs having NO idea where she was going… I do want you to know that you will never have to be alone in a hotel for the first time again! While last night was overwhelming with a cancelled flight in a place you didn’t expect… you did it!! And you got home to your kiddos!! Your travel experiences as a child should have been fun vacations… they weren’t. And as an adult, crazy delays and cancellations can happen. You’ve conquered that now… with the help of a never in!! Every first experience is an opportunity to learn… even when it’s overwhelming and a little scary! Soooo proud of you for getting through it and getting home and going for a walk!❤❤

Jenna, thank you for answering my question! I was raised in an abusive home with 7 siblings. Each of us processed our upbringing differently BUT we also have common ground and, we communicate in a different way than others. Most of us learned empathy, generally after therapy. Our parents recognized that they messed up and made amends it doesn't take away the pain, but it DOES help. BTW as a mom of 3 and grandmother of 5, you did NOT over react! The flight situation was terrible and was worldwide!! My daughter, son in law and youngest grandkids came in on a flight just as the "grid" started to go down! I was worried sick but I have family we share a home with so I wasn't alone. I've just finished the second read of your book and you are an absolutely amazing young woman!

Love you Genna. Another layer on the airport and hotel thing is that you might have had a glimmer of the dissociation required to get through a trial without going troppo so might have have a bit of a trauma trigger. I was watching another channel this morning called something like “ Cults and Knitting “ that was talking about it. How ex cult or ex army people can tough their way through something by using their dissociation skills. So glad you had support via you phone at least. Hugs 🌺🦆

The story of you breaking down & sobbing in your hotel reminded me of the many panic attacks I’ve had in the past, where whatever happened to me wasn’t truly bad enough to cause a breakdown, but they happened anyway. That’s an awful feeling & I’m so glad you had someone who cares about you enough to help get you through it all. 💜 I was so happy when you got to that part of your story. 🙂 I especially get stressed by anything going wrong when I travel, so I’ve gotten into the habit of adding cushion days into my flight plans, where I don’t actually have to be somewhere until a day after my flight, in case it’s cancelled. If I end up with extra time because the flight actually went okay, I do something touristy, book a massage or even just spend the day reading a book in my hotel room. I’d rather be a little bored than a lot panicked!
