Bentley Turbo R vs Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit 2 (1992) | A Battle of British Elegance
The Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II and the Bentley R Turbo from 1992 are identical, sort of. They rolled out of the same factory in Crewe, they both have a 6.75L V8 engine and more importantly the two I reviewed are both blue.
If you'd told me a few years back I'd be driving a Rolls Royce and a Bentley in the same video I wouldn't have believed you. I consider myself very lucky and I hope I have done a good job detailing the differences. This is my first time reviewing a classic car so hopefully I did the badges proud.
Let me know in the comments which one you'd prefer! My 2nd favourite thing about cars after driving them is talking to other car people about cars.
I've just touched down in Australia and I'll be reviewing cars over here for the next few months so if you have any suggestions please through them my way!
I've got some more Timmy (my Peugeot 106) content coming up soon and lots more reviews in the pipeline. If you want to see some others, I'll pop a few below. Thanks for supporting the channel and see you soon.

    Reviews a car. Doesn’t check to see what rev match is. Posts video anyway. Rev match is probably the thing this car was known for the most, since it was a big deal. Kinda hard to take anything other part of the video seriously to be honest.

    • @macswhips
      @macswhips 5 днів тому

      You’ve caught me before my morning coffee so I am going to bite! 😂 ‘posts video anyway’ - do you genuinely expect me to spend my time, scripting, filming and editing for me to then not post because of something I’ve missed? That’s surely not a good approach to life in general. I’d get nothing done if I needed every video to be perfect. Moreover, there was a time before you knew about rev match. Why are you beefing somebody for learning about something? Finally, ‘hard to take anything [sic] other part of the video seriously’ - there is value everywhere, even in people who have gaps in their knowledge. As I said, I haven’t had coffee yet so I may come back to this comment in an hour or so when I’m in a better mood. Then again, you sound like a right negative nelly so I might not bother.

    Props to driving those European roads in the Shelby. It takes a bit of driving time to get the hang of the power and solid rear axle in order to get the best out of it, but on US roads, it's not as scary. Splitting hairs between cars on European roads is epic (and actually scary) in a Shelby. Respect. I was looking for a fun car under 40k and was between a 2013/14 Boxter S and the Shelby. I got the shelby in the same spec but red. Smiles per gallon, baby. All smiles. It's stupid and capable, and that's what makes it a great toy. The traction control actually turns off when you hit it like a muscle car should, but that trunk button is the only take away from the trac control, if that connection can be considered, because I open the trunk too many times trying to turn off traction control ;P

    James Bond is the reason of the price tag, not the car itself. If I saw this on market place for £2,500 you may have a deal I wouldn’t go a penny over. It’s just a car no features nothing

    I absolutely love my own 370Z which is only a Sport Touring Coupe but still one of the most fun and exciting cars to drive that I have ever owned in my 45+ years of driving automobiles. I have had other high performance cars and muscle cars in the past and my 370Z is still one of my all time favorites, even to this day. One of the best "bangs for your buck" out there. They are relatively cheap to maintain too compared to all the cars available today, especially in the sports car category. I have always done every required or recommended service at the Nissan Dealership when it was due, and I have never had a problem with my 370Z. The only thing I have ever had to purchase is routine maintenance items such as the cabin filter, air filters, the recommended fluid changes, and the only major stuff was the tires (which I switched over to Continental All DWS06+ All Seasons after still having the original Potenzas on it for ten years!), and also did the brake pads after ten years but they didn't really need it, I just wanted to keep it in top running condition. That's it really! 370Z's are a very reliable and inexpensive sports car to own IF they are maintained from new, at least compared to other much higher priced options with even less horsepower and performance than the 370Z has. The power is plenty for the street and gives a lot of exciting drives, whether it's your favorite winding back road, a drive up into the mountains and switchbacks, or even on the interstate highway. A very comfortable car for long trips too. My wife and I have taken quite a few weekend trips exploring the states we have lived in since I have owned it and it's very comfortable for weekend jaunts to your favorite destination! If you are looking for a fun, reliable, and exciting sports car, give the 370Z a serious look. I think you will be very surprised at both the value, and also the FUN, that one of these little exceptional driving machines can give you. Sure, there are many other options out there, but I doubt you'll find as fun a car for the price range as a 370Z. Or even the new Z (on the used car market anyway) since you can now find those on the used car market. I wouldn't buy a new Z brand new, I would look at the second hand market first as there are actually some good ones coming up for sale now for reasonable prices compared to the very expensive prices being asked for the new Z at the dealerships. $65,000+ for a new Z Nismo? I don't think so Nissan. You need to drop that price to around $50,000. WAY WAY too high priced for a regurgitated 370Z. I went and looked at the new Z in the dealership and they had both the new Z and the Z Nismo. I actually preferred the look and feel of the performance model over the Nismo. I did however love the new Nismo color which was a battleship gray looking paint color which looked incredible. I just didn't like the Recaro seats and while they might be great for the track, for the road, not so much. I use my 370Z for road use and never track it so the Nismo seats would have been way too uncomfortable for a long drive which is how I mostly use my 370Z. I do love the new dash electronics and that part of the upgrade they did. I HATE that goofy looking gear selector on the automatic Z's and also the Z Nismo. Why Nissan thought it was a smart decision to not offer the manual transmission in the new Z Nismo is beyond me. That's going to be a decision they regret later most likely. Most people that buy a Z Nismo WANT A MANUAL! The older 370Z Nismo's with an automatic are RARE. Nobody really bought the 370Z Nismo with an automatic. Crazy decision but hey, I am not on the Nissan executive staff so couldn't tell you why that decision was made?? It baffles the mind. And sorry Nissan, no matter how you look at it, a regugitated 370Z is NOT worth $65,000+! NO WAY. You can get a brand new high tier model of the Toyota Supra for that kind of cash and the Supra is in another league, even with slightly less horsepower. The Supra can leave the Nissan Z in the dust, and has many times already. Lower the price by about $10,000 on the new Nismo Z and then you might have a contender for the most economical sports car on the market in 2025. It would probably INCREASE the amount of Z's being sold. For me personally, the 370Z looks sexier than the new Z. My all time dream car is the Nissan GTR which I have been saving for for a very long time but haven't ever quite gotten there yet. In the meantime, my pristine 370Z fills the void nicely.

    Can you just put it in neutral an after just turn it back? need to put it on trailer to transport, so need to put in manual to get it up (no power) and put back in gear so it stands better on trailer. and then again neutral to get it off.

    • @macswhips
      @macswhips 26 днів тому

      I think so yes. Sorry I can't check because I don't have the car anymore but from memory, I think turning it back would reconnect the gearbox and therefore stop it freewheeling.

    • @khajiit8221
      @khajiit8221 13 днів тому

      A service with new coil pack should help if you think there is a misfiring there. If everything else is ok, unfortunately the 1.8 is too weak for this heavy car, so performance is certainly not a strong point (0-60 mph takes 11 seconds). As for fuel consumption, I have had an Insignia with a 1.8 petrol engine and I got a genuine 37 - 39 mpg but that is with long drives in the summer, steady cruising at 60 - 70 mph. If you do a lot of short drives with the car fully loaded then you can only expect 30 - 33 mpg, which isn't very good but still not bad considering it is an older design petrol engine in a heavy car. Its also a more reliable engine than the diesels.
