Random thought on what the subliminal message is in the film…. Ferris need to Make things exciting, fun and unpredictable is his way of keeping his depressed friend from killing himself in some way. If he makes things fun for his friend, he’ll want to stay. This film has a lot to do with their relationship! And cams depression. This particular scene of him dedicating a song is like a plea to have fun and stay……. Cam pranking Ferris with the fake pool drowning had him Shook!
watched this movie for the first time today and I agree. alot of men grow up wanting to be like bueller but end up being like cameron on an epidemic level.
@@omegajrz1269 Of course "Twist and Shout" was still remembered in the USA when "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was made; that's why the large crowd watching the parade is able to sing along in this scene. But the use of the Beatles' version here made it popular again because this film was a hit.
When I was on the American version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”, my $7,000 question was “What Beatles song charted decades after its initial release thanks to an appearance in ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’?” Before I gave my answer, I told the host “That is one of my favorite movies of all time, and this moment is possibly the most exuberant scenes in film history.” Six years and several thousand dollars later, all I can say is: Ferris Bueller, you’re my hero.
If you feel like you're Cameron in life, at least remember that Ferris thinks you're the best guy ever. Ferris only got onto that parade float because he wanted to make Cameron happy. ("I'd like to dedicate it to a young man who doesn't think he's seen anything good today.")
Are the black people on a conveyor belt or something at 2:58? If not, that is damn impressive.

This scene made "Twist & Shout" by the Beatles a hit all over again, 20 years after it had first been released.
I imagine the song was already known in the United States at that time.
