That part of Tulsa was known as the Black Wall Street. The whites resented how well off tis area was.

This is a book that could only be written by an elitist who has no idea hes an elitist. Typical Lefty "I think I'm so woke" nonsense.

I just finished the book. I was underwhelmed. He uses too many words to describe the simplest concepts.

Great review. Couldn't agree more. I think I get it now...Thanks. i was starting to doubt my common sense while reading at times but now I'd say it's almost as gòod as the Bookthief.

This book sucks and is very poorly written and leaves you with a headache. Waste of money. Read the EMP series. I give it no stars!!!

I just finished this book last night. Im not mad that i read it, but i would never pick it back up. This book was just not good to me. I feel like this will definitely be one of them cases where the movie is better than the book.

I just finished this book and I found it fascinating. It made me ask, “What would I do if…..?” I’m on vacation away from NYC life when strange things begin to happen. The owners of my vacation home show up talking about a power outage in NYC, there is no internet service, and telephone systems are down. I still have power and water, but not phone service, Internet or telephone service. At what point would I panic? When the television displays a national emergency message and nothing else, what would I do? I like to think that I would at least get more food and medical supplies, but then what? I like books that make me think. This one made me think about international war using biological weapons.

** Spoiler Warning ** I completely agree with the magic somewhat dampening the narrative. Maybe it would feel better if instead the power came from speech, like the ability to talk themselves out of difficult situations. I’m no writer, so that could be completely dumb lol. On the contrary, when Moses performed her conduction and told the story of her late husband John, it brought me to tears. Once I realized who she was it hit me pretty hard. That was the highlight of the book for me.
