Can you explain how you change overtone partials on sax? I mainly play brass instruments, and in doing a big math project on overtones. Thank you!
The simple explanation is manipulation of tongue position + air speed. I recommend you look into Sigurd Rascher's Book "Top Tones" as a resource

how do you do that? i’ve practiced overtones for years and can’t get above a b flat above the staff with the fundamental b flat fingering. i like to think it’s my horn but surely there’s something else to it
Hey there! It's probably not the sax if you can hit the other overtones, but don't get discouraged. Try keeping the back of your tongue high and in between your molars. Experiment more with how the tongue and mouth muscles affect the sound.

What ligature do you use, I’ve been looking for one for my Bari sax Mana mouthpiece and I can’t find one that fits
Vandoren Optimum but for Contrabass Clarinet. Fits perfectly. Most Contrabass clarinet ligatures fit.

@@Literally_dangeleeenI understand where you’re coming from but the difficulty of this piece is a lot more than just the notes itself. Properly playing the tango style in these etudes as well as being able to slur the leaps cleanly definitely make this piece the exercise it is written as
