Old School DJ Gear
Germany
Приєднався 26 тра 2020
This channel is all about Old School DJ Gear, meaning DJ gear that was released during or before the golden era of turntablism (1996-2003). I present mixers, turntables, headphones and effects that will make you remember the good old days of "two turntables and two records and a microphone.
All the equipment shown here is my own, unless otherwise noted.

Audio interface for online DJ-sessions - t.mix MicroMix 2 USB
If you are a DJ and you want to do an online DJ-session with your buddies or your DJing-mentor and you want really good audio quality, here is a little magic box that gives you all you need!
The t.mix MicroMix 2USB gives you three channels:
- Ch1 is for your mic which will be routed to the USB output of the mixer.
- set ch2 to USB so that you can listen to your friends audio coming in. Set it to 'phones' which will mute this channel on the master output
- Ch3 gives you an analogue 2-track input to which you connect your mixer/controller. Set this to 'master' and the audio signal will be routed to the USB-output together with ch1.
Here is one source to get your micromix: thmn.to/thoprod/424898?offid=1&affid=1767 (affiliate link)

Improve the smoothness of your mini Innofader drastically!
Переглядів 3,5 тис.Рік тому
If you own a Native Instruments Z2 and ever wondered how you can make the mini Innofaders that are installed just as smooth as the Magvel faders in a Pioneer DJM-S9 - here is the solution. It's simple, but takes some skill. Oh, and you will definately loose your warrenty on the mixer. If you try this mod, do it at your own risk! WARNING! There is a little tiny spring at the bottom of one of the...
Vestax Streetmaster 5005 - review of a used mixer with stiff faders
Переглядів 4352 роки тому
I bought a used Vestax Street Master 5005 on ebay. It's basically a rebrand of the Vestax 05a (see the review of that mixer also on this channel). The faders on the 5005 were super stiff and once I opened up the faceplate for an inspection, I found out why. Subscribe and enjoy!
Two different crossfaders for the Vestax PMC 05 MKII
Переглядів 5332 роки тому
In one of the Vestax facebook groups, there was a litte discussion on the two crossfaders that were available for the Vestax PMC 05 MK II. One is called CR-05R (r for regular) and one is called CF-05S (s for scratching). The CF-05S has a travelling distance of one 2cm (about 1/2 inch). However, when trying to scratch with the CF-05S you would have to hit the middle of the crossfader width to ma...
Vestax PMC 05a - Old School DJ Gear Review
Переглядів 1,1 тис.2 роки тому
The Vestax 05a was part of Vestax' entry level series. It hit the markets sometime between 1993 and 1995. Here is my review. I just recently remembered, I had the Vestax PMC 05a sitting on my shelf in its original box together with the original power unit and the user manual. After posting a picture on it in the "Old School Mixers (and turntables)" group on Facebook, I decided to finally make t...
Overview of Old School Mixers to be featured on this channel

Here is an overview of some of the mixers, I will be reviewing. They come in no particular order. More mixers, turntables and other gear will follow. If you want me to review a special piece of gear let me know. Maybe I already have it in my collection.
I never bought one of those vestax I never see some one using it in a battle oh mixing on it
It's really more about "collecting them all". These mixers were just a means to mKe DJing accessible for the brought audience.
Krasser mixer!!! Ich würde gerne der Schwarze kaufen, aber sind alle kaputt. :D. Nice video Man!
Perfect video! I got all I needed to know in 1:30 minutes. Thank you!
In these times of everything happening online, this little mixer is the best and the only option to get a line signal and a mic signal into your computer while giving you a monitor signal into you headphones at the same time.

Did you try your mini Innofader after you did this mod? Because by yanking the circuit board out, you are breaking the ground connection of the PC board. The result is the audio cutting sound will stutter multiple times every time the mini Innofader crosses the cut point and won't be clean at all. If you do this mod, you need to unsolder the ground connection then resolder it. Another thing: Please notice around 3:17 there's a small spring sticking out of the mini Innofader on the bottom left. You didn't say anything about this spring. Again if it falls out, it will cause the same stuttering problem. Please if you can fix this video. I'm starting to get many complaints from customers about cuts suddenly not being "clean" after they do mods like this. We put the spring in there because without it the fader might slide on its own. This would be a disaster in some club situations where the bass causes the table to shake. But to make this easier for customers looking to attempt this mod, we are thinking of offering these faders as standard without the built-in spring as an option. We've heard this feedback from many people like yourself.
HI Elliot, thanks for your comments. I actually do mention the tiny spring at the bottom. I mention it when I put the fader back together. Sofar, I haven't noticed any sound cut outs at all. I even installed this Innofader in a Vestax 06pro VCA and it works perfectly!
Hi Elliot, I put another warning into de description regarding the tiny spring and the metal foot that needs to be resoldered to the board.
Any update on if you'll offer it without the tension spring? I'd love to have one in my S9 but the mini in my raiden mixer feels tad too stiff so that's the only thing that's putting me off getting one in my S9 Would buy one in a heartbeat if it came without the spring tension installed
@@NastyRhythm I have been using the Innofader now without the spring for a couple of months and I actually find it a little too loose.
@@DJServiceFrankfurt interesting. I personally prefer an ultra smooth and loose fader. Only mixer I've used that had the best feel was the Ecler Hak 360
Danke und viele Gruesse nach FFM
Where do you buy them, man?
Ebay
really dope mixer! 🤟
Ancient curve adjustment lol
I was always curious about this mixer, wonder if a fader from an 05 pro ii would work? And what records were you juggling with by the way?
The records are called "Ultimate Drums".
