This was perfect for me, as i had just done the 6.0 cooler upgrade to my v10 Excursion and had the old cooler from that laying around. Now I've installed the old Excursion cooler to my '04 Lightning thanks to your video!

Good stuff. This is the best time with bolt ons. The truck is most enjoyable. 6lb lower and the larger reservoir makes a nice difference. The stock Eaton is a true pleasure to drive wirh great throttle response and predictable control. The kenne bell makes a bit more power on pump gas wirh 19psi but imo ruins the feel of the truck.

Thanks for preserving another fox body mustang. I miss seeing these on the road everyday. Just don't put Urethane bushings in the rear axle upper control arms. You do that and it makes the snap oversteer ( rear suddenly slides sideways way more) Worse when cornering hard/fast over bumps. Always use rubber bushings for upper control arms....or get a maximum motorsports suspension.

First video I’ve found on UA-cam detailing the basics of tuning one of these trucks from the start (fueling then timing). Thank you. Obviously most of your knowledge comes from experience, but any recommended literature for someone who hasn’t tuned before (i.e.- myself 😑). I understand the basics from reading, but want to educate myself about the specifics about my ‘01 Lightning so I can slowly street tune it myself (didn’t know the specifics about the PCM strategy that pulls timing at an IAT2 threshold; looking for more specifics like that). It probably would have been fine with the 100 shot if it had 93 octane, colder plugs, the distributor set back 4°, and wet shot. 😁

how do you interface ecm with computer ? I have ordered SCT 4 TUNER but how can you get into adjusting all the fuel and timing parameters ?

Just seen your video.. I'm doing a lighting engine swap into my 97 f150 with t56.. plan on TB, 6lb lower, MAF, LONGTUBES AND 3 INCH DUALS with x pipe..what do you think it will do? Do you do Mail order tunes or just dyno? Just a street truck.goel is 400/500 rwhp My trick came with a 4.6 5 speed .it's a 2wd. I'll be using the stock 97 4.6 computer
