    This video is for the purge valve not the vent valve. The vent valve is behind the fuel tank. People get the 2 confused. I'm looking for video on vent valve not purge valve!

    Hi Greg I just wanted to mention that solenoid is called the evap vent solenoid underneath not the purge solenoid which is under the hood

    Hello, I was wondering what that valve on the side of the throttle body is called? In the video you referred to it as an elbow but I can not find that online.

    This was helpful. I just wanted to get some idea of which tools I need to take home to change my spark plugs so I hopefully won’t be needing anything that I left at work and I can just get the job done the first day. Thanks for the video!

    First of all, its youtube. Second, it's not specific to my car or engine codes. and third, its youtube.

    Great video! Thanks for convincing me to do this job and save lots of money!!! I am not a mechanic and I was able to do this job by doing the research first. I took my sweet time. I changed each spark plug and coil before moving on to the next. I bought a 6'' 7MM ratchet wrench to get to the hard to reach bolts on the covers. Since my Thunderbird is 19 years old and in great condition I opted for Motorcraft Coils and Denso Iridium Spark Plugs. I hope to keep the car for at least two more years. Since I bought the parts @t the I was able to opt for the more expensive parts. Rock Auto was much cheaper than the big name brick and mortar stores even with 20% off. P.S. I would opt for a longer ratchet wrench for more leverage, with a swivel if you plan on doing this job. 8'' ratchet wrench maybe?

    Yay. I have a misfire on cylinder 6 on the new LS I just bought. Already ordered new could and new plugs. I'm assuming because it's got 98,000 miles, they are still original and have never been changed.

    Goddamn I can’t believe this video has 27K views of wrong information I am just stunned how many people have watch this and probably wasted their time, bought the wrong parts when all over hell looking for a purge vent canister something so annoyed thinking that’s one when there’s really 2. Nice thing is UA-cam making more professionals every day I watched a video on how to do brain surgery anyone wanna be my first patient? I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night if that makes a difference?

  • @NunyaBizness1924
    @NunyaBizness1924 4 роки тому

    So no your description is wrong. It is NOT and purge valve. Your purge valve is located on the engine it opens to allow vacuum from the engine to suck the raw fumes out of the charcoal canister. The canister vent solenoid like you’re showing right there then opens to allow fresh air from outside into the charcoal canister otherwise the purge valve and engine which sucks so much vacuum that we Collapse your fuel tank. So your code for P0456 of a small leak could be lots and lots of things so unless you pull the vacuum on the system commanded that solenoid closed or made sure it was commanded closed and saw smoke leaking past it. So please anyone watching this video this information is wrong never has the canister vent solenoid been located in the engine it is always underneath if you were looking for the purge solenoid because they are two separate things, it is located in the engine compartment it does fail a lot and is most likely the concern but this is UA-cam for you letting anyone show everyone else how to be wrong because this guy’s diagnosis because he determined this was his problem by probably going to AutoZone and buying whatever they had in stock or whatever the guy behind the counter said it is not to bust this dudes balls, but before you Waste time replacing parts and running all over hell educate yourself on the system and how it works it’s a very simple system comprised of a purge solenoid, the fuel tank, Evap lines, The charcoal canister, and the vent solenoid. Sam also have a fuel tank pressure sensor and then the fuel filler neck and fuel cap all of them have to hold pressure and not leak air so fuel vapor do not going to the atmosphere and kill our future children with radiation from the sun or drowning from the polar ice caps melting. Hopefully someone read my comment here even though it’s years later and save at least two minutes of their life from replacing the wrong part and wasting time

    I'm having issues with my 2013 escape with the wipers, and I'm pretty sure it's the driver's side. How do I know if it is a wiper arm problem or wiper motor? When taking off the arm, then turning on the wipers, could you visually see if they run? I haven't had to replace either before. My passenger and driver wipers are oriented a little different where they overlap in the resting position and wipe in opposite directions. Yours seem to both wipe over to the drivers side.

    Thanks for the helpful video. I am stuck on removing the last bolt from the driver side spark plug/coil cover. It is the lower-back one that is tucked in by the #8 cylinder and the brake master cylinder. Any suggestions on how to get it out? My small socket is being blocked by the big round chamber of the master cylinder/brake assembly. Thank you!

    • @jameswinner4256
      @jameswinner4256 6 років тому

      I was finally able to get a small 7mm wrench on it. The wrench I used had a ratchet type of closed end so I was able to remove it only an inch or two with each swing, it took a while but I finally got it out. *Upon re-installation I omitted that 8th bolt, just tightened the seven that I could get to without much effort.

    Hi Greg, have you ever had to replace the wiper arm on the drivers side? I'm having a hard time even finding the part, except I might have just found it on eBay. I'd rather get a new one if I could though.

    • @gregsgt4715

      I posted a cool trick on how to use your existing front wiper arm (instead of replacing it) if your windshield wiper motor works but the arm does not move.

    • @anneh8185
      @anneh8185 6 років тому

      GregsGT thanks Greg! I just watched it and I hope that works for you! I don't think that is the issue, the motor turns the arm but it can't keep it on the windshield at higher than 45-50mph. So it turns but lifts off and doesn't wipe anything. Any idea what's broken? I was thinking the spring in the arm has lost tension
