Do the crochet dishcloths last like the knitted ones? Do they stretch out?

No criticism of the creator, but this tutorial did not work for me. This comment is for those folks who keep rewatching the first 8 minutes of the video and feeling like they aren't making progress. I initially tried to learn to knit using this video and really struggled with the basic steps. I could not follow this. This video worked for so many people, I thought it must be me. But once I looked up another beginner tutorial, everything clicked and I started making progress. Since my first project is a dish towel, I switched back to this video, and am once again hitting massive roadblocks. Obviously this video has helped a lot of people, but if you're like me this method of demonstration/explanation is not the right approach. Not all people learn the same way. If you're really struggling and getting frustrated even with the beginning steps, PLEASE seek out another tutorial! For me, RJ Knits was a much better fit, so that's who I recommend!

Thanks! I’ve done this pattern many times in the past, but had forgotten it and needed a refresher. I just skipped to the parts I needed since I’m not new to knitting, but this is excellent for beginners and folks like me who just needed a refresher. Thanks!

Could anyone explain to me the way she casts on and why? Casting on just by twisting the yarn on your index and sliding the needle in the loop is much simpler in my head but does the way she does it make a first row of stitches ? thank you :)

  • @ShadowTail-wispofsmoke1313

Thank you for the lesson! Haven’t knitted in years and this was a great project to relearn knitting. BTW at the end instead of cutting and weaving the thread right away, I crocheted a chain and slip stitched back into first chain before cutting thread to create a hanger for the dish rag.

It is not clear, Am I Casting on Stitches with the tail or casting on with the yarn that goes to the ball I can't determine because you're not showing where each piece is going
