THIS is absolutely the BEST example of how to knit. Your perfect description of HOW to do this, accompanied by your slowly measured and unhurried gentle movements, guide us artfully through each step. Other videos are way too quick to catch visually. YOU ARE A NATURAL at teaching! EXCELLENT TUTORIAL. THANK YOU.
This video is an absolute gem, even five years. Simple, precise, and easy to understand. I’m about halfway through my first dishcloth and this has helped me so much!
You are a great teacher. I have been making these for many years and just figured out how to do it on my own, but it is great seeing it explained so well.
I’m glad to finally see a UA-cam knitter who “throws” the yarn. I’ve done it that way for 51years. It’s not fast but I can’t seem to change the way I hold the yarn. Very good tutorial!
I am a crocheter. I tried knitting a few different times and just couldn’t get it. Once I finally told myself that I WAS going to learn, I was determined! This is the exact pattern on why I wanted to learn; to make the same dish clothes that my grandma has made for everyone her entire life. With this tutorial, I am able to make that happen! Thank you so much! Can’t wait to surprise my grandma that I didn’t give up on knitting. ♥️
Thank you!!! I haven't knitted in 40 years! I just bought somebody's stash, so I need easy projects like these! 😅 I don't know how to read projects just yet, so this video is crucial. Brenda ❄️
Thanks! I’ve done this pattern many times in the past, but had forgotten it and needed a refresher. I just skipped to the parts I needed since I’m not new to knitting, but this is excellent for beginners and folks like me who just needed a refresher. Thanks!
omg I never thought I would be able to knit a dish cloth made it so so so easy I'm going to be making everybody dish cloths for Christmas thank you and after Christmas, I will learn to make the other ones. Thank you for making it so easy.
I have been crocheting most of the Summer. Im ready to pick up my knitting needles and do some practice and this will be a great start. Thank you for not starting in the middle of the pattern. I will start this over the weekend.
My neighbor made a cotton dish cloth for me for Christmas. I just started knitting this year and I have some cotton yarn that I bought and haven't used yet so I thought I would try to make one. Surprisingly this is the first video I came upon and it is exactly the same as my gift! I know I can make it with your excellent instructions. Thank you! Oh my, I just realized I don't have size 7 needles, just 6 and 8.
I have been crocheting for a long time but I just have not been able to make a simple wash cloth. So glad I looked up this at last I accomplished a wash cloth I could be proud of and one I could follow this is a wonderful pattern and I was thrilled to see the wash cloth appearing with each row. Fantastic! Thank you!
You’re an awesome teacher! Easy to see what you’re doing and at a slow pace which is so helpful!! Thank you! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you very much. My very first knitting lesson. I agree that this was the easiest tutorial I've seen. I've been crochetting for long and wanted to learn how to knit for long time.
Thank you so much for this video. It is great for a beginner like me. I couldn't have done it without this. I have completed my first dish rag...thanks a bunch!
i really appreciate your clear and excellent lesson on how to make a dishcloth. i am making it while watching your video! you made it so simple and doable. thumbs up for you.
If you’re a beginner like me do yourself a favor and buy some quality cotton yarn from a local shop not the cheap peaches and cream sold at big stores. Worth every dollar I can’t believe how much easier it is to work with. I was pulling my hair out with the peaches and cream. Thanks for the great tutorial
You are such a great teacher. My first complete knitting project and I was able to follow along as I watched the video with very little rewinding. Thank you
You are great. I use to knit but got away from it for a lot of personal reasons. Thank you for the refresher course. Just finished my first dish cloth. Now ready to start the matching on.
Your videos are simple to follow (and reverse, I’m a lefty!). I just finished my 3rd dishcloth in 2 days! I wish I was able to share a photo to show off my work. 😃
I realize this video was posted 2.5 years ago but it is wonderful. Your explanation, your gentle voice and slow demonstration are perfect for a beginner. I see you only posted 4 videos. If you are out there please come back and post more.
Thank you for these clear instructions. I like to use these as oversize coasters on my bedside table so I don't scratch the wood when I set things down. I was buying them on ebay but now I can make them myself in my favorite colors.
I hope you make more videos. I’ve learned how to knit by watching you. I’ve crocheted for over 20 years. I’ve tried several times to knit. Without you I wouldn’t have done it.
Thank you so very much, this is just what I needed to start to learn to knit. I normally crochet. I want to commend you on your whole video," very well made !" 1. you zoom in so I can see what you are doing, 2. you go perfectly slow enough to help me see and learn, 3. your voice instructions are perfectly timed as you work the stitches. " You are an exellant teacher ! " I subscribed to your channel and will be exploring what other videos you have also made....... I am hoping to find what to do once I find out I have dropped a stitch how to fix it...
I have a few of these treasured dishcloths passed down from my grandmother and mom that were still intact. I now know what every sibling is getting in their Christmas stocking this year! Thank you so very much!
Excellent video. Your voice is so friendly, and not boring, it sounds like you enjoy teaching us and that makes your video better then the others. Also your camera work is up close and clear. thank you for your time.
After starting over and over, I finally finished my first dishcloth. Please make more videos with more easy projects for beginners. The way you explain is just perfect. Could you make one on how to do purl. Thanks again!
A great tutorial! I used to knit these cloths when I was a teen and was looking for a refresher video and am so happy this is the one I found. Look out family!! You’re all getting dishcloths for Christmas! 😂❤
Thank you for a well-produced, just-the-facts-ma'am knitting video! Every word was apt and very well explained to newbies like myself. I made my first dishcloth in no time! You make me feel like a pro. Please keep up the no-fluff videos (too many other instructional videos are either over-explained, unclear, or stuffed with "fluff"--We don't need to hear about the speaker's children, apartment decor, or kitty cat!) I appreciate your video so much!
Thank you so much. I have always wanted to know how to do this dish cloth, and I am also left handed and have a hard time understanding the patterns that I read to so the knitting work. Thank you for making this pattern easy to understand.
Finished my first dish cloth. A few mistakes but a good practice. Thanks for the tutorial. I'm trying to learn continental style but I came across your video and was able to follow it. You go slow enough for me. lol. Thanks for posting.
I'm encouraged, and I think I can do this! I was given a washcloth like this by a 95-yr-old woman who told me this was the best dishcloth I would ever use. She was correct. After many years, the cloth she gave me is showing wear, and I need a replacement. I've crocheted, but never knitted. It's time to learn.
Thank you for sharing and caring !!! Thank you for not playing music OR Thank you for not singing !!! You got right to the point 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👊👊🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 💙💝❣️🤎 your video
Thank you for the lesson! Haven’t knitted in years and this was a great project to relearn knitting. BTW at the end instead of cutting and weaving the thread right away, I crocheted a chain and slip stitched back into first chain before cutting thread to create a hanger for the dish rag.
Thank you! You explained this so much better than any other video I have tried to learn from. I know how to crochet, but now I can say I know how to knit too!
This is a great beginner project! Thank you so much for making this video! I do have a suggestion though. It would be great if you could make a video using the dishcloth again and teach us how to troubleshoot mistakes. I've looked at other videos and my mistakes don't look like I dropped a stitch. Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to share your gift with us!
Your video is amazing, you're so clear with your instructions and a lovely teacher. Well done. I have finished two of these dish cloths now. Thank you :)
This is such an excellent instruction video. I turn to it each time just to reinforce what I think I know, and I learn something new each time. Thank you for you for posting this and helping so many.
this was so helpful, ive always wanted to know how to knit these dishcloths and i was intimidated by it as i always just used a knit stitch to make a rectangle. Thank you very much, i knitted my first one of these today!
This is a wonderful video, it has helped me really enjoy getting back to knitting this winter. I need some help, all goes well as I increase but once I start to decrease the pattern seems to be stretched so I don't end up with a square. I am following the pattern exactly. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you!
I wish you had more videos on here!! I don't have Twitter nor Instagram so I won't be able to share but this video was very helpful!! Easy step by step, along with the explanation!!
Wow! This really is easy! Thank you so much for giving such clear instructions. This is very exciting that I can actually do something! LOL I appreciate your taking it slow and explaining so well.
Thank you so much for such a great video tutorial. It has been so long since I did any knitting this is perfect and just the quick project I was looking for to make something really useful.
This was a great project, finished it in two afternoons, I screwed up though at the end so I’ll need to get my knitting instructor to help me figure out what I did but I’ll definitely make another one!
I very much appreciate this dishcloth knitting tutorial! It's true, I was struggling to watch a couple other videos in which the teacher was working too fast or saying a lot of unnecessary comments or not showing all of their work. This video was GREAT for me & it seems to be a popular opinion. Great job! If you or someone else might know... *I noticed we start the project with 4 stitch at one corner then cast off into a point at 1 stitch.. Is there a way to either start off with just 1 stitch or end it with 4 stitch so it can be symmetrical?* -- Also I noticed the pattern on the way back, while decreasing stitches, gave me much larger holes along the edge compared the first section.. Thank you. I’ve been wanting to knit dish cloths and this was the easiest tutorial I’ve seen. At 76 you can still learn something new. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Well done you!!
2 yr later you must be able to knit anything now.
You are a great teacher.
I have been making these for many years and just figured out how to do it on my own, but it is great seeing it explained so well.
PS I make increase and decrease differently but oddly enough, they look identical
I’m glad to finally see a UA-cam knitter who “throws” the yarn. I’ve done it that way for 51years. It’s not fast but I can’t seem to change the way I hold the yarn. Very good tutorial!

I've never knit before. This video was very easy to follow and I have just finished knitting the dishcloth, thank you for a great video.

I have made this many times, but not for years, and I couldn't remember how to decrease, so I really appreciate this lesson! I'm over 70,too!

This was BRILLIANT!! I started this two days ago and just managed to complete it! 🥰😘
This is a great beginner project! Thank you so much for making this video! I do have a suggestion though. It would be great if you could make a video using the dishcloth again and teach us how to troubleshoot mistakes. I've looked at other videos and my mistakes don't look like I dropped a stitch. Your video is amazing, you're so clear with your instructions and a lovely teacher. Well done. I have finished two of these dish cloths now. Thank you :)
I started to knit because of Covid. This was the easiest video to learn from .
In 2019 I stated, I want to learn how to knit. Thank you, so much for this great start.
This is such an excellent instruction video. I turn to it each time just to reinforce what I think I know, and I learn something new each time. Thank you for you for posting this and helping so many.
Thank you for your carefully illustrated lesson in how to knit, cast on and make the starting slip knot. You do a wonderful job of teaching.
Thank you!!! You’re such a great instructor. You made this first time knitting project for me so easy to follow and understand. I made a dishcloth!! 😊
Wow. 25 years ago. She's good and takes it slow so shes easy to follow. I hope she's still around and revisits do we can see what else she's created.
Thank you. I love these and have made many. I forgot one little detail and could not locate a pattern! Now I have it I can continue making these!!!
this was so helpful, ive always wanted to know how to knit these dishcloths and i was intimidated by it as i always just used a knit stitch to make a rectangle. Thank you very much, i knitted my first one of these today!
Great teaching, finished a few dishcloths. You were very good at presentiing and describing. Thankyoou
I absolutely love this lesson it is the best you explain it so well
Thanks you explain this stitch so much better then anyone I’ll look up and I think I did a great job on my dishcloth thanks
This is a wonderful video, it has helped me really enjoy getting back to knitting this winter. Thank you for sharing this wonderful tutorial! I made several dish clothes w this pattern. I’m giving them as CHRISTmas gifts!
Wow! This really is easy! Thank you so much for giving such clear instructions. This is very exciting that I can actually do something! LOL I appreciate your taking it slow and explaining so well.
Great tutorial, thank you. The speed and information were fantastic.
I agree. This is an awesome video. Great teacher!!! Any chance of showing how to do a matching dishtowel?
Thank you so much for such a great video tutorial. It has been so long since I did any knitting this is perfect and just the quick project I was looking for to make something really useful.
This was a great project, finished it in two afternoons, I screwed up though at the end so I’ll need to get my knitting instructor to help me figure out what I did but I’ll definitely make another one!
Does anyone know where this EXCEPTIONAL teacher went? UA-cam channel? I love her style and would enjoy learning more from her!
Thank you so much for the refresher course. Need to get back to knitting and stop watching videos and playing games. God bless you from Michigan
Thank yo so much! I did 2 of these last night! My first project. I'm afraid I'm hooked.

This is the best tutorial I’ve come across, simple and to the point. Thanks!
I followed this and had it done in a day, thank you so much for this tutorial!! 😊
Very easy to follow tutorial, thank you!
What a joy to learn from you. Blessings to you and family.🌺
I did change colours halfway through but the make & weight of yarn is exactly the same as the first half, so I wouldn't expect any issues there.. *Let me know what you think, thank you!*
Either way... VERY grateful for this tutorial for my first knitting project. This made my experience exponentially easier than I had previously estimated. Thank you!
I am knitting this tonight ,good video, easy to follow pattern .
I made a few that came out great! I refer to your video each time to get started or end my dish cloth and your instructions are great! Thank you❤
Your video is one of the best I've seen for learning to knit. You are slow and show exactly how the stitches are done. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for this video! It was very easy to follow and now I'm knitting dish cloths like a champ!!
