A bit telling how little they covered the solutions part in the video. How you increse the housing supply is everything. Using market solutions is in alignment with the market fundamentalism of the last 40 years and is what got us into this mess. That is the real problem here. Neoliberal politicians are incabable of solving the housing crisis because their ideology doesn't allow them to come up with universal solutions out side of the market. The financial industry and banking sector needs to keep its near monopoly over housing.

Hello. Did I just hear you say at 14:10 in the video that under HB 1337 you could sell the individual ADU’s as condos? I currently own a single family home on a .25 acre lot in Everett. So I could build two 500 sq ft ADU’s?

This is going to be a lending and appraisal train wreck. I guess someone should have asked lenders and appraisers what will happen in the cities impacted by this. It is obvious no one stopped to ask the question what will happen to Highest And Best Use and the following lending and appraisal issues. Maybe everyone should call a knowledgelable appraiser and lender about what this will do. I'll give you a couple of hints...The typical appraiser you know, Certified Residential, will not be able to appraise any property in the city of Spokane. Since 1337 took away owner residency requirements, anyone with a traditional SFR and an ADU now has to have a small income multi-family (duplex) loan.

At 10:45 an example is given where a “small” existing SFR is converted to a DADU so the a new SFR w an AADU can be built. DADUs are limited to 1000 sqft (as well as AADUs). The example shown depicts an existing SFR over 2300 sqft that’s converted to a DADU. How was that possible or was it just a inaccurate picture? Thank you.
