Hi there. I have a 2008 Softail Heritage FLSTC and I'm having constant problems with my fuel injection. I'd like to switch it to carburetor. I don't have the spare transponder and I can't get another since there's no dealership here. I live on an island several thousand kilometers from the mainland (Tahiti). Once the conversion is done, do I need the transponder or can I put it in a drawer that will never be opened again? 😃 I'd appreciate it if I could do without the transponder. Thanks in advance for your reply 🏴☠️😎
i wanna get one itll go wit my sporty chop project but $1k is steep im not gonna buy junk its my transshaft unfortunately the only reliable kit is ledsled for 1k

Hey man! Great video! About to do this on my 2004 FXDLi because of some electrical issues with the EFI. Did you loose your gas, speedo or tach? I’ve heard these conversions could make you loose those gauges. And did you have to dyno the bike after? Thank you!

Great video! Question, so I have an '09 UC ugraded to a 103ci, the PO chose 510g cams for some reason? Id like to go 551g, can u assume the crank runout is still minimal since the 510g cams are functioning well? Or should the runout be verified before assuming that? Thanks for your time!!
Literally no one has posted a video of removing the crank on 99-02 Timken Twin Cam HD. It's a freaking Unicorn. I got the manual, but dam it would be nice if someone posted a vid.

Hello Andy. Don't know if you'd remember, I called you earlier in the year because I'd got a flat and was stranded, red vfr800. Thanks again for your help that day. I also own a 107 m8 street bob and am thinking of upgrading the cam to a 475 s&s. Would you advise changing the lifters, plate and oil pump whilst at it, purely for longevity and reliability, or do you think the oe parts are good. Cheers mate, Lee.

Well, you never checked the runout and you havent done a vid for 2 yrs since. So how is the bike running? Im guessing not too well, lol.

I just started a project trike of sorts. I purchased two new harley davidsons a 2023 tri glide and a 2023 cvo road glide. I'm gutting the road glide for the fairing, tank, lowers, engine and tour pack. I'll have a home built cvo tri glide with a road glide fairing in the 120th anniversary cvo color scheme with the 117 engine with air cooled heads and carburetor ( mikuni) no shared braking and no abs or rsds. And true duals and after market stereo with Google maps. It will be more of a traditional motorcycle/ trike and less like a three wheeled car.

Had 2 thousands run out and no free play, ordered an undersized gear for 115 bucks runs quiet, wont have anything blowing up here
i just did my 05 88cu in fat boy. put in the 509g the shop i go to wanted to do the 510, the bikes going 60 at those rpms, the 509 runs where I run daily.. I put it in because the shop said it was the tensioners, I had looked at the 30 days ago. still had the noise after install, rocker lockers solved 90% oh the noise. The bike feels and sounds good now. thanks for a recap of the process.

Why would you go with a gear drive before you measured the total indicated runout on the sprocket shaft side? The chances are it’s ok.. but if you are off by 3/1000ths you are just asking for trouble
and this is why there are so many broken side stand lugs.

This may be a silly question, but if you’re not manually engaging the clutch yourself, can you still easily tell when its engaged with the auto clutch? For timely shifting i mean. Thanks!

Got a new to me 2000 harley 88ci softail, its sat for 2.5yrs from a divorce, running a unknown big bore kit, s&s super e, and ive just lost spark on a delphi 4 wire coil, im not familiar with this setup, any help qould be appreciated. I cleaned the tank and carb, rode it home (2 miles) after a lengthy jump start. Didnt smoke, no ticks, only fault was poor idle, attribute that to carb varnish.
Consider where you are measuring, a worn shaft that has been worn because of the runout. It skews the result. Plus consider when measuring in cases on roller bearings the result may, depending on the year of manufacture, be skewed by the cases no longer being line bored as a matched pair. The main bearing alignment is subject to manufacturing tolerances.
man i converted my 04 springer with a thunderheart stand alone. was good for a few years but it all shorted out when riding through Michigan in the rain. so what i did is sourced a wiring harness from an 04 non-efi, a coil and an icm and basically converted the bike as if it were from the factory carbed. also a map sensor with manifold. to easy and not that expensive. at alibi customs in el paso weve done a lot of these conversions. great video. thanks.
