Hmm, it should do. Although I can't check this myself to help, I'm afraid. I've moved completely to Live 12 now...

You'd need to put your Maschine in Control Mode first, so that it acts like any other MIDI controller. Make sure that in 'Ableton > Settings > Link, Tempo & MIDI' that 'Remote' is ticked in Maschine Virtual Input. Then go into Mapping Mode in Ableton and map the 'Turntable' parameter to the strip in Maschine. Just tested it now on my MkIII and it works pretty well! :)

I'm really not sure as I don't have the standalone to test with, unfortunately. I kind of get the feeling it won't though...

@@Shayzare I’d love to make a VST version that would work in other DAWs but I know nothing about C++ or the other things you need to know about to make a VST. One day, perhaps…. ;)

@@dubbylabby6068 yeah I tried those back in the days it was a horrible experience -generic and machine feel. Andrew has shown just how to make Fl scratcher with human feel by his explanation. Using gross beats and Replicating that Graph in Andrews video and maping the play head is doable

@@AndrewNorrisMusicTech 3/4 on the way, but I'm now focusing on a 'record directly sound to drumpad' device. The Dj device I made works with an external, that understands timecode, would be cool to run it without.

@@tonybeatbutcher Ah, cool! Would you mind me asking the name of the external you're using, and if it's freely available? I've struggled to find anything that understands timecode in Max, other than MsPinky which is pretty much dead now, as far as I know - I haven't been able to get it working in years!

Ah allright, at least not for ableton intro, you need standart license because for intro they wont let you use any midi tools

There's been a problem with the TSI which is likely why you're not able to change the ports. You should have had an email by now with the fixed TSI. Load the new TSI using the 'Import' button at the bottom of the screen in Traktor Preferences. Leave everything ticked in the popup window that appears and click 'OK'. You should then see the mapping loaded in Controller Manager. If Bridge is already running, the In and Out ports should already be set for you. :)

I haven't played live in years but yeah, TouchOSC is great in general for a portable live setup. It can control any MIDI-based hardware / software and custom layouts are nice and easy to create too. :)

The link to the layout is in the description.It's for iOS / Android only and you need the Lemur app to run it. As far as I know, Lemur is now discontinued and no longer available to buy.

Yeah, the 'Lock' button settings aren't saved with the project, so you would need to manually disable this again if you need the Lock button off when you load your project again. All the Lock button does though is sync the LFO start/stop with Live's transport / Play button. Turning it off just lets the LFO run freely, regardless of whether your project is playing or not. Saying this though, I'm not sure I fully understand the issue you're having. If you'd like to contact me by email (mail@andrewnorris.uk) with some more details, I'll do what I can to help! :)

@@horsesaysquack The device has been updated a little since I made the video. To load custom samples, you now need to drag/drop directly over one of the four ‘User’ slots. Be sure to use .wav / .aif and to drop in one sample at a time.

You'll definitely get some strange behaviour if you're using an XD but I haven't come across this one before! I can only really support problems with the standard Minilogue (it isn't really meant for the XD and I don't have an XD to test anything) but if you can send me a video of the problem occurring (mail@andrewnorris.uk), I'd be happy to take a look and to see if I can suggest anything. Or you could check out maxforlive.com for an XD-specific device. :)

Although the TouchOSC app itself should be compatible with Rekordbox (assuming Rekordbox lets you map external MIDI controllers), this particular layout will only work with Traktor, I'm afraid.

Not as far as I'm aware. I'm really hoping someone does though! @@nbs2369 You should be able to just drop the sample over one of the four user slots. If this doesn't work please send me a video (just something filmed on your phone would be fine) of what happens when you drop in a sample to mail@andrewnorris.uk.

Thanks so much for the feedback! :) I've actually had full Stem control in my 'Jog-On 2' TouchOSC layout for a while now (the one that comes pre-installed with TouchOSC). It has controls for each Stem's volume, mute, FX send and filter but it's all squeezed into a very small area, so it's not very practical for live use (it's fine for practising though!): drive.google.com/file/d/1etKKRGM3GlU-k-lwcxBKTNswUjSE0Y_O/view?usp=share_link I'm currently working on a layout for the Pattern Player, which should be out in the next month or so, but I'm planning on making some kind of dedicated Stem controller next. Something with larger, more accessible controls than the ones in the Jog-On 2 layout. If you'd like to test it before release, just email me (mail@andrewnorris.uk) and I'll send you a beta version when it's ready. And yes, I completely agree, adding individual sends and Stem looping would be an amazing addition if NI were to do this. Integrated stem separation and the new flexible beat grids have been the best addition to Traktor in many years. It's been great to see NI paying attention to Traktor again! :)

If you're using Live 12, the MIDI files are already in the included project. If you're using Live 11 though, email me at mail@andrewnorris.uk and I'll send them to you. I don't think they'll retain the automation info though, just the notes.
