Even though GT Bicycles had been focused on BMX bicycles in the late of 70s, the product range development hadn’t been stopped. In 1987 the company decided to enter the developing mountain bike market and the main competitor that moment was Cannondale, rather then Specialized or Trek Bicycles. And GT Bicycles had started to create their first Mountain bicycles, which were satisfying the custome...

It's amazing that the world needs so many bicycles now, you'd think that the market would be completely saturated 🤔🙄
I want to create my own bke brand ,can you help
Hi
GREAT VIDEO HUGE FAN OF GT BUT I HAVE A quick question do you know anything about the gt arette i have not found no Information please let me know thanks
I don't know if it was your accent, but I couldn't pick up where TREK comes from. Does it come under Electra which you say is Chinese made? ???
Thanks for your research and sharing 👍
A bit of false information, Centurion was a own bike company, but Merida maunfactured their bikes, Centurion only assembled and designed. When Merida needed money sometime in the past, they combined the company to MCG Merida Centurion Group, and Merida outgrew Centurion
Mach one 1995,mach one pro series 1998 head seat....😮😮😮
Got to love the 90s Jamis Bikes. 2020s are so epic but nobody knows it 🤷🏻
What about De Rosa?
Still dont know where Bianchi top models are produced? I read Bianchi is bringing back Manufacturing to Italy. Not sure how true that is?
Except the list in this video, Fuji-Ta company in China makes other brands too: Specialized, Scott, Cannondale, Cube, GT, B’TWIN, Avanti, this is open kind of information by their official web site in China. This is one of the biggest bike manufacturer in China, with 5 million bikes per year.
5:57 i worked for gt for 5 yrs 1995-2000
Very interesting. What about Polygon in Indonesia. They make Polygon and Marin.
I love GT and Nike but Nike did piss me off in the 80s when legendary flatland riders like Kevin Jones and Mark Eaton would write letters to nike to sponsor them with sneakers (they used basketball sneakers ) And Nike would regect them. Now Stupid NIKE sposors both bmx and skateboarding. so fucked up.
Well done

Who is the manufacturer of bmx bike brands COLONY/FLY/MONGOOSE/GT/HARO/GT

Isn't Scott now owned by a South Korean private equity firm?
you forgot the Karakoram!!!
I own a GT Karakoram 2018 and i love it :) Thank you for this video.
Hey Man do a video on Hero cycles India and Tube investments of India. You'll have a lot more views. Hero owns HF Nicholai, Avocet UK etc... there might be some good insight even though Indian bikes are not really on the radar. Also check out POSST.Bikes. Hand crafted steel bikes made in India
You are wildly wrong on your history of the internet and online/direct bike sales. Internet use in Europe in 2001 was widespread (at least in the western/northern countries). I was using the internet myself starting in 1992, and buying various things online by 2000. Direct bike sales were fairly strong already by the year 2001. Around that time, in the US, Fuji was selling a lot of bikes.
This one made me laugh as well ... we used to play online egoshooter in 2001. The internet was well (!) established by then.
They are very popular however their third party contract manufacturers for their frames do have at times quality control issues
Who is here bc tic toc?
I love your videos ! What do you know about the bike industries in canada?
Hope you may feature Mosso brand, also made in Taiwan on your next vlog...🚲 Thanks and more power to your channel...
In January 2022, Pon Holdings, a Dutch mobility group, purchased Dorel Sports. Pon holdings is ownwer also of cervelo and Santa Cruz among some others
oh no . . almost all brands area asian made, particular china . . . . so the quality goes down 🤔😟
i have a westerner friend staying in Taiwan and he buys Colnago because he doesn't like local made bikes.... hahahahaha
No wonder bikes today suck.
ignorant
@@台北俗-x4h how so? I've been riding bikes for 45 years and I've seen all of the changes.
@@台北俗-x4h as long as you are fine spending $5,000 on a frame that's going to only lasts 5 to 7 years.
Yow you should make new post, this is soooo good
Great video. Can't mention GT without talking about Eddie Fiola. Probably GT's most famous sponsored rider.
Him, and definitely Hans Rey aswell.
I own a GT Outpost Trail bike which was purchased in early 1999. Spent most of its life in storage and except for few scratches in the paint still looks new. Still has the original tubes and tires! In the process of getting roadworthy. Beautiful blue finish with GT seat and small saddle bag. 21 speed. Maxis WormDrive tires in now a skinny 26 x 1.90. Wei man 519 rims.
Merida was making steel Trek frames in the 80’s and 90’s.
Great info, thanks!
didn't mention Karakorum sport 29er
There is also Quality Bicycle Products which owns, Salsa, Surly, All-City, plus Teravail and Whisky.
Super cool
i can't find the bmx racing models with the larger thin rims and tires.. not mountain or ten speed more like ultra light dirt race bikes.. can anyone help with a straight answer?
Cruiser class. 24" wheels.
👍
👍💪
Hey thanks for sharing the video
I have no issues with the companies producing parts in these countries. The high quality bikes use strict ISO standards and they are the companies designs. They have to save on manufacturing costs. If you get very high quality for a lesser price it’s a way for the company to make a profit and keep afloat. As long as the quality is there and the ISO standards are met, it saves the consumer money. Swiss labor, US labor, etc is not inexpensive. Bikes are getting priced higher because of new material and technology. It’s healthy as long as everyone is working and making a profit and making a living.
It's not healthy for the consumer, who is having to pay a higher and higher price just to ride a bicycle.
I missed out on Polygon - they produce there own brand and Marin - in Indonesia
