      Not at all. Did around 30-35 track days with bone stock drivetrain, everything holds up well to track use (for the 1le model). Very very stable and easy to drive at high speeds, small regret is it is a little numb feeling, but that can be said of any vehicle of a similar size, i.e. mustang, bmw M3, etc. I think the v6 1le is a criminally underrated performance car, it's basically on no one's radar except track enthusiasts. If you do get one for track use, front camber plates should be the very first mod, get -3* or more negative camber or else it will absolutely destroy front tire shoulders, it will save you money in the long run from tire costs.

      The V6 camaro was a really great middle ground between the miatas/s2000s and mustangs/m3s, faster on the straights than the smaller cars, but easier to handle and less nose heavy in the corners than the bigger ones. Still a bit porky in curb weight though.

      these camaro v6s are no joke man i’m yet to come across anyone on the highway significantly faster than me other than coyotes. you can run with scatpacks with a couple of mods because of the weight difference and they handle surprisingly well in the corners

    RIP 1LE package. I still plan on picking up a v6 Camaro with the heavy-duty cooling package and tracking it. Have you gone up against any LT1s or GT Mustangs? How does the V6 compare to those?

    • @miatatony123
      @miatatony123 2 роки тому

      the v6 1LE is pretty comparable on track to those cars in stock form, close enough that a change in tires makes one or the other faster. The power differential is huge though, comparing a v6 1le to a SS 1LE is no contest, even with mods to the 1LE. I sold my 1le to buy a smaller/lighter track car in the future but at the time it bridged the gap perfectly between price/track performance/daily drivability, it was a great car.

    why does the m3 brake lights come on twice

  • @hoopla175
    @hoopla175 3 роки тому

    What do you have to do to make these reliable on track? Just track pads and high temp brake fluid? Thinking about getting one, but not sure if there are cooling issues, etc. Coming from a track Miata which I’m planning on keeping also.

    • @FL50ssp
      @FL50ssp 3 роки тому

      V6 1LE has enhanced cooling for the engine, trans and differential along with 4 piston Brembos up front and forged 20 inch wheels. Plus I recall watching a Chevy launch video for the V6 1LE with one of the Engineers claiming they stress test all 1LEs on track for 24 hours straight. I have a SS 1LE and have run it on track for ~ 45 min sessions during 100 plus degree ambient and over 120 deg on track with no issues. Matter of fact after coming off track I was sitting in the pits with the AC blasting to cool off. The car never missed a beat. Also if you are really into track days/HPDE get the PDR option if you can. There is a ton of data available that will be invaluable to help you improve as a driver and find speed on track.

    • @miatatony123
      @miatatony123 2 роки тому

      yup, carbotech xp10(if i remember correctly) pads and hi temp fluid, did over 20 track days in the summer and the car never missed a beat. by far the easiest car to run reliably at the track, but with upgraded wheels and tires the brakes become more of a weak point, as the calipers and rotors are from base SS i think, the SS 1LE has much better brakes.

    Hi, just wondering why you went from the standard 20in wheels on the 1LE to 19in? Is there a difference performance-wise?

    • @miatatony123
      @miatatony123 4 роки тому

      quite a few reasons, they're lighter weight, the tires that are available are noticeably cheaper in 19 than 20, and the biggest one is there are way more tire models and sizes available in 19 than 20. also with the tires i currently have the gearing ends up slightly shorter, I noticed better acceleration with the new wheels.

      @MrSuryapratim 4 роки тому

      @@miatatony123 Great answer! I reached the same conclusion by scouring tirerack.com. Would you say, following the same logic, that there's an equally sizable difference by transitioning to 18 inches or is the difference just incremental in that case?

    • @miatatony123
      @miatatony123 4 роки тому

      @@MrSuryapratim I think so, downside with 18s is for wider 10 or 11 inch widths especially the front struts need to be grinded down to fit the Camaro, I'd go with 18 but I didn't want to deal with that

    • @miatatony123
      @miatatony123 4 роки тому

      19x10 front 19x11 rear, the Camaro specific set from apex, I bought them used though, if I could buy new I would've went with 19x11 front as well. Tires are 305 width re71r all around, a bit too wide for the 10inch fronts, getting too much shoulder wear.
