    There’s only so much space for air in the cabinet the speaker in not drawing a vacuum, so open or closed cab doesn’t matter,except for less dust accumulation or heat transfer. That’s my opinion.

    The ends of jumbo frets, as on the Performer always feel rougher than medium jumbo. They need to be shaped with less angle to keep the 2 outside strings from sliding off the edge of the fingerboard.

    It’s a great guitar for the money. $3k for a standard is a little crazy. Just get this, put burstbuckers in and save yourself hundreds. A guitar is only as good as its pickups. Remember that.

    Thank you for this video, I was looking for my first guitar and after your video I try this both guitars in local stores and I chose the Ibanez! The Yamaha feels a bit more quality but is heavy and the neck is not huge but is big. The Ibanez is so light and comfortable with the thin neck with the lower action and I liked the humbucker neck sound better. Thank you so much!

    I owned thr10x for many years. Didn't like it's clean tones and tiny sound. 4 years ago I bought Roland MicroCube GX. and it's really great. I use it mostly with 6x1800mah rechargeable batteries. It's clean tones (acoustic sim and jc clean) are my favourites. Fender's clean is not so cool and cannot be overdriven with my strat. The things I miss on my MicroCube: 1. 2-3 band equalizer. Lowpass filter is not enought, I'd wish to lower bass on acoustic tones. 2. Tuner indication is not as clear as on thr. Definitely thr has better modeling, but MicroCube sounds richer because of it's 5 inch speaker. Because of absence of cabinet emulation it 's battery life is absolutely unbeatable MicroCube's successor Boss Dual Cube has a pair of 4 inch speakers and a cabinet emulation but it's battery life became closer to THRs.

    Hello I'm from Brazil. I saw the 2 videos of the Yamaha Pacifica 012 and this Jackson model, (great videos, very well explained). I'm unsure which one to choose, I'm a beginner at guitar, but I play acoustic guitar. But I would like a guitar to play Indie, Metalcore (my favorite styles). Between the Jackson and the Yamaha Pacifica, which would be the best choice for these styles?

    • @guitaristnextdoor8430
      @guitaristnextdoor8430 Місяць тому

      Hello and nice to meet you! Brazil seems like a wonderful country. Which part of Brazil do you live in if I may ask? Let's move on to guitars... If you are aiming for metal...I would get the Jackson. Jackson is versatile as well. Pacifica offers your brighter single-coil tones...do you need those? Only you can answer that. If you do...then you get a really versatile guitar if you choose Pacifica. But you lose some of that Metal edge with that when compared to Jackson. Hopefully this helped! If you have any more questions, just ask! Thank you for commenting!

    The Spider does the most things for sure, especially for practice (looper, timer, metronome, aux in). With the footboard it becomes basically a Temu version of the helix. With deep diving you can make it sound very good. But the downside is there is no manual and barely any tutorials so you really have to spend a lot of time with it. That’s probably not worth it for most people just looking for a practice amp

    • @guitaristnextdoor8430
      @guitaristnextdoor8430 Місяць тому

      All true Joe! It's not that popular, that's probably the reason for the lack of tutorials. And out of the box, it's not the best sounding. That's why I kept the Boss! Thanks for commenting!

    FYI, the Katana 50 is NOT a 50 watt amp. You'll notice it doesn't even draw 50 watts from the wall. It draws about 37 watts. So how could it be 50 watts? It cannot. Boss is using a dishonest marketing trick of saying how much power the amp could, theoretically put out for a fraction of a second using the capacitors to store extra power. All reputable speakers and amps are rating by their RMS power (continuous power). According to my oscilloscope, the 50 watt katana puts out 32 watts at 8ohms and less than 25 watts at 16ohms. Does it matter? Probably not. But FYI.

    • @guitaristnextdoor8430
      @guitaristnextdoor8430 Місяць тому

      You are right. But I think most amp manufacturers do this. There's RMS, Peak, and Max wattage. My man David wrote a great article about this if you want to learn more: guitaristnextdoor.com/what-wattage-guitar-amp-do-i-need/#rms-vs-max-vs-peak-power-on-amps

  • @iancurrie8844
