      I will make a video on how I tie the knot and the way I modify my corks. So I tie them where the jig is free to move. The line is not tied tight to the jig. I run the line through the eye and bring it up about 6 inches on the line still hanging from the pole. Then wrap the jig around and through the loop. Snip off the excess. I know my explaining sucks lol. I will absolutely make a video in the morning. Thanks for watching and best of luck to ya out there 👍 👊

      Thanks for watching man. We have allot of rain coming down as im writing this. I'm hoping the water will rise a foot or so. I love new territory to fish and the slabs love new territory to spawn lol. Yesterday was slow. I filmed 30 different trees I fished with 0 bites. I finally put the phone up and said dam I have to catch some fish. Got on one fallen willow and pulled in 8 as soon as the cork would touch the water. Pow pow pow pow. As fast as I could get em on the stringer I'd get another. Water had been falling for over a week. Hopefully this is enough rain to stabilize or make it rise. Best of luck to ya out there 👍 👊

I can't tell you how many nice slabs I've either missed or dropped from trying to record 😂 .. when the times get rough it's time to put the camera up and figure them out... Sometimes I get to make a quick evening trip but gas is too high for short trips. Just shoot me a comment when ya ready and I'll leave my number for a brief moment. I still haven laid into any of the 3 lb plus slabs this year and I catch em every year. Almost no females yet either so we still got time. 👍👍👍👊 no boat needed. I either walk in or ride ole blue.

    Can you do this from shore or do you have you wade back into the flooded timber?

    • @eudoraoutdoors7048
      @eudoraoutdoors7048 2 роки тому

      You can absolutely do this from shore. My very bast days have been from shore. If the water stays low and the fish start to spawn there are less places for them to spread out. Use Google maps to find creeks and rivers that feed the lakes. If the water is flooded in the timber those same creeks and rivers will hold fish. I've been under bridges catching a limit on just the riprap rocks. They heat up and the crappie will hold tight on them. Also the pillars under bridges. Check coves with steep banks near camping areas if the water is high. A tree may only be a couple feet out in the water but the depth could be perfect. Really helps to research all the creeks and find a rd crossing it. Research the lake levels also. We are on flood reservoirs where I fish. One week it may be 6 ft higher than the previous. I'm always looking and marking places on my maps. Hope this helps. Best of luck to ya out there 👍 👊

    Very interesting technique ! I've watch many crappie fishing videos. But, have never seen such way fishing. Can you please educate me on the reason you need a spinner on your jig and why you dip so fast in a small area? Is this way only for prespawn ?

    • @eudoraoutdoors7048
      @eudoraoutdoors7048 2 роки тому

      The spinner just adds a extra flare in those muddy waters. You don't have to have it but my confidence in it is 100%. If our water was clear I would not be using black and hot pink either. I use a translucent with black specks at my home lake which is fairly clear water. When they start to spawn if they can see it they will bite it. These were all male fish making beds. The reason I dip so fast is my cork makes a sound and disturbance on the water drawing more attention to my jig below. Hope this helps. Have a good one 👍 👍👊

      @@squarebill Man I love watching Richard. Wooooo wooooooo wooooooo lol. I love when he says that lmao. Really got me stumped on the bed making. All males I catch which come in first tails are raw from fanning. Then we catch males and females together for a bit. Then it's back to catching males guarding beds. Well what I call a bed. I appreciate the knowledge on the subject. Now I'm going to do some research ha ha ha. My hats off to Richard bc he is so knowledgeable and gets everything on video. I have caught over 50 since this video and got just a few on film. My freezer is almost where I need it to last till next year so I'm not far from done with the crappie. Sad part is they are just about to really start biting good. Only take what I can use tho. I'll move on to bream. Then the flathead cats. Thanks again for watching and the comment. Best of luck to ya out there 👍 👊

    That’s a lot of damage. What did that rate it at?
