Anthropologie Cloud Floor Lamp does not work with Kasa Smart Plug
The aesthetics of this light's hardware is terrific. Unfortunately, I don't believe the designers ever bought light bulbs, set it up with voice control and actually tested the product in a home environment.
The lamp requires a very specific type of bulb: Type B, 5-watt max LED bulb, or Type B, 40-watt incandescent bulb.
There are no Type B LED smart bulbs less than 5 watts with a high CRI (90% or above).
The only Type B LED smart bulbs less than 5 watts are offered by Avatar, which doesn't list its CRI. I bought these and their color rendering was horrible. Specifically, I bought "2 Pack E12 LED Light Bulb Work w/Google Siri Alexa Light Bulb 5W Type B Smart Bulb RGBCW 16 Million Color Changing Light Bulb 2.4G WiFi B11 Candelabra Bombillos Work w/Smart Life AvatarControls APP" available at www.amazon.com/dp/B08XMWQXGF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1.
Since these didn't work, I next bought "BA11 Candelabra LED Light Bulbs - Flicker-Free 60w Light Bulbs with EyeComfort Technology - Soft White 2700K Lightbulb - 500 Lumen - E12 Base - 3 Pack" available at www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8TMXYM2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details.
While the color rendering on the Philips looks great, they cannot change color or dim at all (manually or via voice control), and you cannot turn them on with Alexa.
You have to walk up to the lamp and touch it to turn it on. Then you have to touch the Kasa Smart Plug button (or use voice command) to turn it off.
I wish Anthropologie had made this lamp more compatible with the lightbulb ecosystem by choosing a type of lightbulb base that had common Philips Hue bulbs available. And I wish Anthropologie had either avoided the touch control system altogether, or included a means to bypass touch control for people who want to use the lamp with voice control or home automation.

Allstate - Claim 0525092938
Переглядів 3136 років тому
Since the Allstate adjuster assigned to my case will not view my photo/video evidence, talk to my witness, or speak to me on the phone, I created this video in hopes of getting Allstate to review my claim. On November 18, 2018, at 3:37pm, Allstate's insured driver backed out of his parking space into the side of my car while my car was in the middle of the road. My insurance company (Farmers In...
LG: Please allow users to fade between frames without TruMotion
Переглядів 1236 років тому
LG needs to address two glaring defects in OLED TV's: stutter and abrupt brightness fluctuations. This video shows motion artifacts on the LG OLED E8 4K TV. This TV would be vastly improved if LG allowed a separate motion control where you can specify the frame hold time, so that you can force the TV to fade from one frame to the next instead of “popping” between frames with no transition time....

The problem you are having can be resolved if you disconnect the usb turn off headset then when you come to the updater page telling you to connect the headphones via Bluetooth then connect it. Problem resolved. Your closing the tabs to allow firmware to install

If you're using Chrome, you need to be using Safari. I'm not sure why, but that what works for me and for many other tools like them. Again, I have no idea why.

Bose sucks. I sell their stuff at a big box retailer and I have started not recommending their products due to lack of support while maintaining premium pricing. Unacceptable.

Well… Sonos will always say that is your internet problem and wireless interference, but no!, Sonos makes software updates that damage their products somehow, or the software gets buggy after some usage. I have a Sonos Roam and it’s giving me problems after an update, Airplay and Bluetooth cutting out, and rear button for Bluetooth not working as it should. Incredible how a brand blames our networks in stead of fixing their products that just stop working without any apparent reason, that’s beyond frustrating

You're not responding to other comments on this post, so I don't expect a response. I apologize I skimmed the video and you may have addressed it somewhere in there but my question would be: When you first saw the other vehicle, as you were in the roadway, how far out of their space were they? How many seconds stopped until the impact? How many seconds total between backing and stopping? Also what ended up happening? Did you have your insurance handle and pursue the other company in arbitration?

When you first saw the other vehicle, as you were in the roadway, how far out of their space were they? My girlfriend was in the car in the passenger seat. According to her, the other vehicle was completely in his parking space (hadn't moved an inch) at the time that I was already in the middle of the roadway. At this time I was still looking behind me with my body turned to see out my back window. This is when my girlfriend saw Mr. Canning's car start moving. The other driver moved very abruptly, so my girlfriend started speaking ("I don't think this guy's...") but then she cut off her sentence, screamed, and the other driver impacted our vehicle. So, in short, the other driver was not 1 inch out of the space they were in. (Allstate said that my girlfriend was not a witness because of my relationship with her, so they said I needed other evidence.) How many seconds stopped until the impact? The other driver's car moved for 2 seconds or less. I know this because I look behind me all the time when I back up, and I generally scan my mirrors and the view in various windows while backing, so I wouldn't have been looking behind me for an extended period of time without seeing movement to the side or front of my vehicle. My girlfriend also wasn't able to finish a complete sentence between the time the other car started moving and the time of impact. (She was going to say, "I don't think this guy's paying attention" but she cut off in the middle of her sentence, screamed for a half second, and the other car immediately impacted.) How many seconds total between backing and stopping? I feel like I usually take 7-12 seconds of moving time to back out of my spot. The other driver took less than 2 seconds since he only backed out less than 10 feet before hitting my car. Also what ended up happening? My insurance company refused to pay since they said the other driver was at fault. Allstate offered to pay me 50% for damages, but I didn't accept their offer since I disagreed that I was 50% at fault. Allstate would not share the other driver's phone or current address, and the Boise Police were also unable to get his current address, so I've been unsure how to go about suing him. It's coming up on a year now, so I'm planning to sue Allstate since I can't find any contact information to use for suing the other driver. (Do you know if you can sue an insurance company? Do you have any advice on this? No lawyer will advise me because there was no personal injury.) Did you have your insurance handle and pursue the other company in arbitration? Farmers Insurance will not pursue Allstate into arbitration because I don't have collision insurance on my car insurance policy. Hope this answers your questions. Thanks for your interest in this case. I need to look into setting up email notifications for UA-cam comments. I didn't realize there were comments on this video. I only created it to share my view of what happened with an Allstate supervisor, but frankly I'm happy for anyone to see it. My view right now is that Allstate has treated me very unfairly, and I've read some studies and reports that suggest that Allstate does the same on a vast scale with much bigger cases even when death or serious injury are involved.

Any fix for this issue? My Sonos Beam keep cutting out too when watching apple tv via optical port.

marsandoval1 Nope! I had to return the product. Sonos forced me to spend months and hours troubleshooting it with their tech team before finally acknowledging that it wasn’t compatible with Apple TV 4K. They should have advertised that from the beginning and saved their customers a lot of time. Sorry to hear you’re having a similar experience. Maybe send them this video and link to a few forums and threaten to file a complaint in small claims court if they give you a hard time about returning the product. I think it’s ridiculous.

Hey, I am an adjuster and I just want to say great detail in this video. What was the outcome?

    • @brettwharton
      @brettwharton 5 років тому

Thanks for your support. Allstate held me 50% liable and the other driver 50% liable. Allstate said I was at fault for "improper backing." Farmers said their investigation found me 0% at fault and the other driver 100% at fault. The other driver refused to give a statement to Farmers or share his phone number with them. Sorry I missed responding to your comment earlier. I need to look in to how to turn on comment notifications on UA-cam. I found Allstate's liability finding very unfair. Allstate would not discuss the case with Farmers and wanted to speak to me directly. I asked the adjuster, "I did not have the right of way being in the middle of the lane? While he was in his parking spot, he had some right of way?” and he just responded, “Brett, do you want your 50% to your damages or not?” Then he said he was unwilling to discuss the case further.

Just wanted to follow up on this. I took the person who backed into me to court. The court found him 100% liable. Then AllState reimbursed my repair expenses in full. The AllState adjuster, Matt Navarre, had told me that there was no way a court would ever award me more than 50%. Lesson here: Don't listen to an adjuster. Sue the person who wronged you, and let a court make the call.

Yes, after this incident I feel it's definitely worth considering getting a dash cam. Do you have one that you recommend? (Sorry I didn't have any kind of email notification turned on, so I wasn't aware of the UA-cam comments on my video.)
