GSX-S 1000 1k Mile Review
Переглядів 25 тис.5 років тому
My personal opinions and thoughts about the Suzuki GSX-S 1000 after putting 1,000 miles on it! Also in the video I mentioned the accident where my motorcycles were both totaled. The way I worded it seemed like both my fiancé and I were riding the motorcycles when it occurred, but we actually weren’t. We were on foot on the side of the road when the accident occurred, and we both were struck alo...
Kawasaki H2 VS GSX-S 1000

A little comparison of the 2016 GSX-S 1000 and the Kawasaki H2. As we expected the H2 is three hand fulls and a half to ride, and an extremely impressive motorcycle!

From where you bought the steering damper? I'm searching for my Suzuki gsx-s1000 2022 bt unfortunately I didn't get a proper steering damper.
I rekon before even trying this a steering damper is definitely a good move :) Just saying. As you can see he is also rockin one :)
Hello. Do you have the trajectory control on or off? or which level, and nice wheelie. But Better do it not in public.
I don’t run traction control and I always am smart about how I’m stupid
I see you are smart and have an anti tank slapper installed before doing wheelies :)
GSXS is awesome bike
Could you downshift too? Use it as a blipper?
Not on the 16 model but maybe on the newer ones
What kind of dampener is that?
Look up Toby steering dampers, I highly recommend the brand!
Just bought a 2023 model. Greatest bike Suzuki ever made.
Just got a new 2023 also, can't wait to get it.
what steering damper have you got there mate .... great vid btw
Look up Toby steering dampers, I highly recommend the brand!
Brother, can you please share your config numbers. Thanks,
I show all my settings at the end of the video!
Thanks for uploading real life experiences of this QS kit. By the way since the sensor of healtech is two-way triggered type, have you ever tried the downshifting. As far as I know this bike is not throttle-by-wire so auto blipping is not functioning but maybe with help of slipper clutch a downshift would not be too abrupt or clunk. Just guessing
Down shifts are hit or miss I just rev match
Has it got more views
I don’t think so 😂
What’s the best way to wheelie at around 30~40mph? On the video, it looked like you were going 40~50mph when you popped up and ended at about 70~80mph. I’m trying to learn how to wheelie at a lower speed 😅
It’s all about preference but for me I’d go third gear clutch up and get it back far and feather the rear brake to keep it nice and slow
What steering damper you have and do you recommend it? Thanks
Look up Toby steering dampers, I highly recommend the brand!
Nice video! What steering damper is this? I use the same 2nd gear clutch up. It takes a big hike and tug to get it up in 3rd. Great skills 👌🏼
I appreciate that! It’s Toby brand. Hadn’t ever heard of them until I started looking back there weren’t too many options and it does a great job
What mirrors do you have? Love those, rocking cheapies and they wiggle around too much for me those look rock solid
I don’t remember the exact model but I believe the brand is fenrir. I’m not the most gentle on the bike and had issues snapping other brands and couldn’t keep them in place but I’ve been impressed with these
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 sweet deal thanks for the info brother
Ridiculous 👎
How so
Ridiculously badass 😎😎
what's the red light that flicks on at 4:15 ?
An after market shift light! When I bounce it off limiter to clutch up it’ll pop out and say hello 😂
What year bike is this?
2016
some times mine will clutch up sometimes it wont. it'll just luggg. it'll just fall on its face. So it looks like I need to be giving it gas before i do anything. Like thats the missed step? then clutch then more gas and let out the clutch.
There’s a bit of timing to it but you’ll be cruising like you normally would find one of those sweet spots that you’re comfortable with then pull in your clutch and build up the rpm’s and dump the clutch to get that nice pop. Just play around with how much you build them and what kind of speeds to see what you’re best at and most comfortable with. It sounds like to me your maybe not getting them high enough if it lugs on you when you dump the clutch.
Got one. Don`t like it all that much, will get another Z1000 as soon as i can swing it financially. Great seat tho...
Dang man I’m sorry to hear that. The z1000 is a great bike though!
I have a 2017 z900 and my friend has the gsxs 1k. Both excellent bikes
I love them both!
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 was your z900 tuned with full exhaust or bone stock?
@@justhesolution she was tuned with a full exhaust
I have the 2018 black/blue model as well with the full M4 exhaust and ECU remap done my Chris at Moore Mafia. I've been pondering this upgrade for a while, but I think coming across your video has pushed me to doing it, especially considering you've done the homework of providing us all with the perfect settings. Thank you!
Heck yeah, that’s awesome! I’m not sure about perfect settings but I definitely don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
I installed on shift rod. I tried sending you a picture but I don’t know how in the comments and accidentally deleted your other comment 🤦🏻♂️
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 Shoot, yea I was gonna ask for a picture. So, at the upper end of the shaft you disconnected and placed the sensor, and then there was enough room to thread it back in?
@@mjb2093 it’s been awhile but you should be able to and If not just take the linkage from the shift shaft and then put it back when you finish. Just use a sharpie and mark which spline the opening sits around to make sure you get it back in the same spot.
Thanks! I’m going to try this lol
360p is it even legal?
The riding not so much but posting 360p is perfectly legal. I didn’t notice the app messed it up until I had quite a few of views and didn’t want to repost but evidently the video has been helpful to others 👍🏻
Dope video! I love clutching 3rd I tend to power first and shift threw 2nd and 3rd and hardly clutch 2nd for me I feel like it comes up super quick
I appreciate that and had checked out some of yours too! Clutching third is probably my favorite way to go because it’s so smooth and so versatile. If I clutch second it’s basically just like tapping it to shift because she comes up scary fast 😂
Awesome video! Thanks for being so helpful. I love to do 2nd gear power wheelies with mine, mines a 2017 I went -1front +1rear, I'm still on oem clutch lol almost 19,000 miles on her. I want t learn clutch up so I can do 3rd gear
I had Tuono 1100 before, and now 2017 gsxs1000 I found it for an attractive price. I didn't expect much from the bike just wanted a commuter but I didn't want to go down on the power too much, and the bike surprised me about how solid it feels. It's not a breathtaking bike by any means like the Tuono 1100 was but it works very well, usually in this price range manufacturers cut corners by putting budget chassis/suspension/brakes, and those bikes' handle kinda funny but the gsxs1000 feels very focused and sharp if you want to ride aggressively the bike will have no issue keeping the line in higher speeds. Is it the best bike? no, but you won't find a better platform in this price range.
Completely agree. For that price range I feel like it’s the best value in the category!
…and what about “Power Wheelies” No Clutching just a about a 40~50mph roll then..4~5k Throttle Close, Twist up! 🤨Can the GSXS-1000 handle that safely!?? 🤔
I wouldn’t imagine it having any issue because drag racing and launching really hard you have to throttle control pretty good to keep from spinning and wheeling at the same time. I just don’t mess with them intentionally
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 Hey Thanks for the reply!..very Cool of you!👍🏾😎I’m a Drag Racer so I get where you’re comin’ from…tried to tame my Torque Monster ‘98 Suzuki TL1000R and “Jedi Master” it’s wheelies to no avail!!😒Bastard wouldn’t be tamed!! ☹️It’s my Full Race Bike now,..’cause it digs Drag Racing so much!🤪🤣🤘🏾So that’s why I’m getting the GSX-1000S now for a daily rider. I prefer Power Wheelies over Clutch ones due to I’d rather not wear out the plates too early and to me “Power” to do wheelies demonstrates the ability & performance of the bike more true IMO..So,..I’m looking forward to customizing & riding mine when I get it next year! A NEW “Thriller Toy” for an Ol’G!!..b(‘_ < )
@@FlamesAt1000ft haha those bikes were fun to ride. That’s no joke I’ve gotten pretty quick at swapping clutches 😂
Or you can just buy a 2022 and it will be factory with a down blipper too
They new ones are clean. I like the looks of that gt model too. If you revmatch you can use the quick shifter both ways with the healtech but it’s not near as consistent as a oem one for sure.
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 I pre ordered the ‘22 gsxs1000 in July. Should be here around January. The gt is nice too.. but I couldn’t justify the extra $2400. I think the gt looks too much like everything else. The new ninja1000 looks pretty nice too
@@downlowgo_401 you’ll have to let me know what you think of it. I’m right there with you. I couldn’t justify spending that much when you can get a super sport 1k for not all that much more. Just respect a clean bike when I see one!
Can’t afford one
Love to see some more vids...sub'd by the way.I have a 2016 with -1 +2 with a ECU flash and it cleaned up the throttle so much. I love this bike and I'm trying to get over the fear of her lifting as soon as she starts lifting I roll off. What sprockets are you running? When she gets up near balance point are you catching it with the rear brake or doing a slight roll off?
Anything in particular you’re wanting to see? Waiting for the wind to calm down some and I’ll be getting some more content. I’m running a 17 front sprocket and a 45 rear. Just takes seat time and pulling it up over and over and you’ll get more comfortable with that feeling and if you’re saying you went down one in the front and up two in the back I can imagine that would be a handful. Could try pulling it up in third and playing with that and see if it’ll come up a bit slower for you. Depends on what kind of wheelie I’m riding. When I’m by myself I mostly ride stand up wheelies so I can’t cover the rear brake but when I ride sit downs I’ll barely apply pressure when it’s back there and try to use the throttle to keep the bike balancing where I want and the constant light pressure to keep from looping.
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 Nothing particularly just tips and advise mainly because we have the exact same bike....oh yeah she pulls hard down low with my set up. I have went to the 3rd gear sliping the clutch and it is....how would you say it, a little slower coming up than in 2nd, so it does fell more manageable. Like you said I need seat time....can't find a good spot to practice either.....the law in my county is crazy with sheriffs so I have to be careful....I've heard a wheelie ticket is reckless driving and that's pretty stout....don't want one of those. I do have a 2001 ZX6R but I don't ride it anymore because the 1000 is so much more fun and powerful. Maybe I should go back to it for some practice. Looking forward to more vids. Thanks for the reply brother...God speed!!!
@@razorbak6783 I’ll have some more coming soon! I would definitely start out by pulling it up in third and getting comfortable with the balance. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to ride the sixxer to get more comfortable with wheelies in general but they are definitely going to pull up and balance differently. Oh absolutely man gotta make sure to practice in safe secluded areas!
Where can I get a steering damper for this bike i have a 2018 gsxs 1000
I can’t remember where I ordered mine from but at one point I saw some on revzilla. Part number is 15.SU10.10 I believe.
I've been trying to find the best setting and you have nailed it!! It got to the point where I was too scared to used it as it sometimes not go into gear and that's something you don't want at full throttle. Cheers. From the UK!!
When I first got mine installed, I thought it was a huge waste of money, but after getting it set up I fell in love! I'm glad the video helped!
is the bike tuned at all ?
Yes
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 ok that reassuring I thought yours pulled alooot more in your video than my stock one especially up top!
@@diablox911 it’s flashed and has a pcv and auto tune with a decent amount of time on the dyno playing with it.
Greetings bro. Where did you get the steering stabilizer?
you have a quick shifter? how to change gear 2->3 on wheelie
In this video I did not have the quick shifter but I do now. It’s a bit more consistent shifting gears on the back wheel with quick shifter but before I would try to pull it up and ride it and then pull just past the balance point and start pushing up on the shifter then back off throttle a touch and get right back into it. It’ll take a little feel.
Greetings from across the pond, Just tested your settings today on the same bike but F model and it's superb!!!! Massive thank you!!!!
Glad to hear it
JUST BOUGHT A 2020 AND I LOVE IT! HAVEN’T REACHED THE FIRST SERVICE YET, NICE UPGRADE FROM MY 2018 MT07. PLEASE PROVIDE LINK OR NAME OF COMPANY YOU BOUGHT YOURS FROM. THANKS
Why not just do clutch less upshifts on this bike?? Its super smooth on bigger bikes and easy to do. Wouldn't it be the same as a quick shifter?
It’s doable but this is much smoother and more consistent and you don’t have to back off throttle at all
guess the chick doesnt care for safety gear... better to show off , dumb ppl
I've got the 2018 model and under hard acceleration the wobble was awful especially during a hi speed pull but after some suspension tuning it improved. I also installed the MaxRacing steering damper for safety sake as I'm 165lbs an dont want to fight the bike if it goes that way again, other than that these bikes are amazing, I've ridden many and the Gsx s1000 is definitely a keeper. Great vid 🤙
Considering buying one myself atm 2018. Thanks for the tips
How are downshifts?
"QuickShifter Easy" is upshift only. I think HealTech has another module which does autoblipping for downshifts. Idk go check out the website, they got cool stuff
gsx s are rnot ride by wire therefore cannot have an autoblipper for downshifts . Only motorcycles that are ride by wire can
@@diablox911 the new ones came out with a new throttle body I believe and if so I bet they’ll make an after market auto blip if not already from factory.
If you revmatch it’s doable but not near as smooth or consistent
Is it worth the money? Mostly do in town and off ramps
I absolutely think it’s worth the money. I think the ride is way smoother even if you aren’t going to be riding it hard.
thanks for the vid. I'll try your setting because actually it's horrible to drive
You’ll have to let me know if you have better luck with these numbers!
@@likablelifestyleentertainm8768 I try it today, much much better with tour setting ✌️✌️✌️ it's again a bit brutal betwen first second and third gear, but much better. Thanks mate
@@borun974 you’re absolutely right. I actually talked to the company about it still being rough after tuning it and they said it’s normal and they don’t recommend using from first to second gear!

بس تبقة الGSX-Sاريح وتقدر تسوقها كل اليوم بدون تعب الكوساكي بعد نص ساعة يتكسر ضهرك ومفاصلك
Assuming that's mph on the speedo?
If you use gps on your phone you’ll notice the speedo on this bike is pretty delayed but yes mph
how many miles do you get per gallons?
Shoot probably not as many as I should be. I get a lot of smiles per gallon though! 😂
Keep safety.🙏 "My greetings from Bali"🙏
what's your exhaust on the bike ?
It’s an m4!
I need my bike set up like that !!!
