The History Behind Canada's Most Iconic Marketing Campaign Ever
In 2014, the Toronto Raptors debuted their now iconic motto, “We The North”.
It was a simple yet elegant statement that tapped into a deeply democratic idea, and spurred a new wave of cultural pride in the team and in the country.
I wrote about the unique circumstances that contributed to its success, and both the foundational and flawed nature of the words and ideas it borrows from.

Damn. Best video I've seen yet. The whole setting matches the movie well, too. The - what I think - leading motifs captured precisely and beautifully.

Man, your ending to this video essay got me tearing up... One of the most emotionally painful moments in media is when characters lose their memories. As omnipotent viewers, it just hurts to see that they forget something precious. It really highlights how valuable memories are. It's just a moment, with a beautiful view.

A masterpiece of analytical writing. However, I'm not sure the climax view is worth 15,000 lives if the tragedy is avoidable. In the movie, Taki saved the town. In reality, which the movie is based on, 15,000 people will never return to their lives again. That's why that climax view, to me, can never be beautiful. In fact, it is a tragedy that can never be forgotten. It is that climax view that needs to be removed from an ordinary day. So this movie could be based on something else better.

Man. I. was. MINDBLOWN! I was surprised by the details hidden in the artwork. My mouth literally got wide open as you go on explaining the meaning behind lines and circles.

Imagine yourself in the theater watching "Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa.)" while the band and orchestra are playing the film scores live... Here is a URL for the "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.) Orchestra Concert," performing "Sparkle." The concert was held at the Tokyo International Forum in December 2017 for two nights. 5,000 seats were completely sold out for each night. Live performance by the original film score performers, RADWIMPS and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, accompanied the entire movie "Your Name." projected on a huge screen behind them. Enjoy. ua-cam.com/video/83DCAtLl2Yg/v-deo.html

I got goosebumps and got all teary by the end of the video, and every video I've watched about this masterpiece of a movie. Needless to say that I cried by the end of the film itself. It's a shame how blissfully ignorant I was towards anime as a medium until recently. I hated it for so long for no good reason, but after I decided to watch this movie due to a personal incident/event, I was just speechless... It is so beautiful and is undoubtedly among the films that have influenced me the most.

I believe the meteorite is used to test Taki and Mitsuha’s red string of fate and love, to see how strong it is. If Taki really love Mitsuha and wants to meet her again, he would go as far as any means to try to help her, even if it means climbing to a cave on top of an old meteor scar to find answers and to try to save the entire town if he has too.

Oh wow hey this was *excellent*. What a treat to find a video essay like this from such a small channel and so long ago! Was definitely ahead of its time and I've subscribed for if you come back to make more. I'm working on my own video about the movie and am looking around for what's already been said, and you really nailed a lot of ideas that nobody has brought up since on this platform. You have a knack for connecting visual metaphors that really deepened my understanding of the film. Great work :)
