Nice videos bro. Are u living in Havana? Saludos desde Miami
Oye muchas gracias! 🙏🙏🙏. No hermano, estoy viviendo en Houston!
You got numb in your leg.
😂😂😂

ua-cam.com/video/oyFnJL2rXjY/v-deo.htmlsi=4oBTZN6rk8GXYdus You can see the mouthpiece on this clip made for other subscriber. It is a Link NY tone master but with some work on it.
@@rolysax thankssss bro
Alone in the morning from the mood swing album? He was the best saxophone player to ever win the monk competition.
Exactly, I switched to tenor, coming from a classic trained Alto sax career. And it was because of that album and "Blue Trane" . 🙏
One way to offend clarinets 💀
then switch to sax
that looks like it would only work for a tenor sax since it is long enough to reach your legs.
Yes that's true, It definitely works best for Tenor sax. alto is lighter and you can handle it better without the neck strap. and sitting down it works good for both instruments.
@@rolysax for the bari, you can just set the bottom of it on the floor like a bass clarinet
👍🇵🇪
Mouthpiece?
Yeah, what kind of mouthpiece is that? Otto link tone master?
Yes, it is a NY tone master. But it has some work on it.
@@rolysax thanks

You said that the mouthpiece that you were playing on you purchased used for $125. Since it is an otto link, it is entirely possible that your mouthpiece could be $1000 or $2000 mouthpiece. Could you share what the actual model is?
I wanted to ask because I have heard many people say something along the lines of, “just practice with what you have, gear doesn’t matter so much”. Every time I have heard someone say that, they are playing on the best of the best gear in the world while saying it. I am pretty sure even Bob Reynolds said that about his original mouthpiece around a decade ago. Then it turns out he has one of the most desirable mouthpieces in the world and an SBA. Long story short, gear matters, especially for those who are just starting to learn. I look forward to hearing what mouthpiece you have. I have my money on Florida Link or Early Babbit. :-)
Hey Andre, I don't even know what exactly is the model of my Link. I'll be checking on that tomorrow morning. I will give you all the details about it. I just can tell you that my sound hasn't changed that much and I used to play on a B.S rubber piece (German brand)
Hey Andre here is a video where you can see my mouthpiece. ua-cam.com/video/oyFnJL2rXjY/v-deo.htmlsi=IaQ59n_cAFN8fYIB
@@rolysax your sound is very different on your earliest videos. I can tell you are attempting to play the same type of sound, but it is nowhere near as good as it is now. Yeah man, gear really does matter!
@@rolysax, I saw that Bob posted recently that the mouthpiece he was playing on was actually valued at like $1,600. I bet you are playing the same mouthpiece. Share some photos of the mouthpiece so we can determine what it is.

Dude! Your accent is fine and your English is good and understandable. I like what you offers here, it’s not the first time I'm hearing but it was good to have it repeated, Quality over quantity. If I can transcribe or play through the changes well but slowly that’s better than fast and messy!
Just a question. Do you feel the reed with your bottom teeth through the bottom lip. Of course without biting but the teeth can feel the reed or not. Thank you
No, I try to don't feel at all the reed with my teeth. Means that I do no pressure against the reed. I just leave the reed rest over my lips.
Thank you for your question 🙏🙏🙏🎷
@@rolysaxit makes alot of sense. You've been very kind

Muchas gracias!!
Bro, that's not an F, that's an Eb...
Love this, what solo is this from?
Thank you so much. That's Joshua Redman. Alone in the morning
Excellent, Roly. Thank you for encouraging musicians of all levels to improvise as part of their musical growth. I wish I had learned many years ago what you're teaching us, but it's never too late! Although I'm at the beginning of the improvisation journey, I can already see how it helps in every aspect of music--from theory to confidence. Hopefully one day I'll be able to play something close to what you do so instinctively! 😊
Thank you So much Cindy! I will be making videos about each lesson in the Improvisation Workshop at Texas School of Music. So it will be easier for me to make these videos.
Thank you so much 🙏🏾💯
You're very good man. Quality over quantity. So true. ❤
Thank you so much Junior. I'm glad that you also resonate with that philosophy!
What kind of gear do you use? Great video by the way!
Thank You so much ! I use a Yamaha 32, nothing fancy. Otto link 7* and I normally use Royal 2.5 sometimes I use Select jazz medium soft but it is not my main setup.
Some very great advices here. Thanks. Greetings from Belgium
Thank you so much Matthieu. I will start working on the Channel again on this week. I really appreciate our comment
I don't even know which I'd rather learn from you, music or spanish?

You're great
Thank you, once again Ugo.
Excellent video. Gives me a new way to approach this and grow! Thank you so much. 👏👏👏🎷
Thank you so much Steve. I am glad you enjoyed it. I will be making some more videos related to this pentatonic approach. For real thank you so much for the comment
Do you have any advice on voicing? I can't get above the 3rb subtone on low Bb?
@@steveclayton495 I honestly don't practice Voicing on daily routine. I have the idea of keeping your embouchure relaxed is the best you can do. Also I practice my long notes thinking more in the "muscular part" or the "muscular benefits" If the saxophone doesn't sound good in the low notes it's because we are closing our throat or moving the tongue.
@@steveclayton495 I have a couple of videos explaining this approach. You're welcome to check it out
I never realized this before, thanks for the tip.
Thank you for your time and feedback.
No vendas tu saxhopone 😊
